Legend Of Fei Episode Summary

I think a lot of people are looking forward to Legend Of Fei (有翡) with the strong cast of Zanilia Zhao and Wang Yi Bo. The last time I watched the male lead is in The Untamed which is quite some time back. Hopefully, this will be another great production as I’m really nervous each time I start a long drama that stretches over 50 episodes and beyond. If it is good, it is very easy to complete the entire drama. But if it is not, it can be dreadful to sit through until the end. I will be writing up this Legend Of Fei review once I finish, so let’s hope this will be an exciting one to talk about. 😀

Episode 1

Fortress 48 was founded by Li Zheng of the South Blade to provide a safe haven to the people during the war between the North and South. The only way to sneak into the fortress is to cross the Ximo River. Yu Lao is the river guardian who has set deadly traps to stop intruders. A young man manages to beat the traps to get in. An alarm is raised.

Zhou Fei was born in Fortress 48. Her mother, Li Jin Rong, is the leader. Her cousin is Li Sheng who often creates trouble but Zhou Fei would get the blame instead and punished by her mother. Zhou Fei rushes to try to capture the intruder and meets him. He introduces himself as Xie Yun but manages to give her and Li Sheng the slip.

Li Sheng’s father has passed away. Li Jin Rong wants him to be her successor. But she tells her husband, Zhou Yi Tang, that she still has reservations over Li Sheng’s skills and character. Li Sheng overhears the conversation and is unhappy. He decides to cross the river to leave the fortress. His sister, Li Yan, informs Zhou Fei who has to endanger herself to save him at the river.

Xie Yun’s Motive

Xie Yun steps in to help them. Li Jin Rong and Yu Lao arrive in time to disengage the traps. She questions Xie Yun who wants to see Lord Gan Tang to give him the Anping token from the late General Wang Lin. Xie Yun refuses to hand over the token to Li Jin Rong. Zhou Fei creates a distraction to help Xie Yun to escape from her mother.

Li Jin Rong whips Zhou Fei as punishment. Zhou Fei refuses to admit that she is in the wrong as Xie Yun had saved her and Li Sheng while at the river. As she is being whipped, she recalls being saved by Li Sheng’s father, Li Jin Feng, when she was a kid. The Di Sha Sect ambushed the fortress and she was captured by Tong Tian Yang who wanted her bracelet. Zhou Fei stabbed him in the eye and was subsequently saved by her uncle.

Episode 2

As they were riding away, Shen Tian Shu, who is the leader of the Di Sha Sect, threw a sword to kill Li Jin Feng. Before Li Jin Feng died, he told Zhou Fei’s father to ensure the bracelet is never seen again.

Zhou Yi Tang appears to stop his wife from further whipping their daughter. Zhou Fei complains bitterly to her father that she always gets treated poorly by her mother while Li Sheng could get away with everything. Her mother is listening in to their conversation.

Shen Tian Shu is informed about Xie Yun’s progress into Fortress 48. He instructs for Tong Tian Yang to standby. Xie Yun is quietly hiding and witnessing all the going-ons in the fortress. He seeks out Zhou Fei and claims that he is merely doing the late General Wang Lin a favor. The general wanted him to give the token to Lord Gan Tang and invite him to lead the Anping Army before he died. Lord Gan Tang is actually Zhou Yi Tang who is Zhou Fei’s father and he has been in seclusion for 10 years.

After escaping from Zhou Fei again, Xie Yun manages to get Lord Gan Tang to show up when he blows a tune. Lord Gan Tang accepts the token. Zhou Fei is devastated that her father is leaving the fortress and refuses to take her with him. She regrets helping Xie Yun who feels guilty for separating them. While leaving with his subordinate soldier, Wen Yu, their entourage bump into Tong Tian Yang. Li Jin Rong fights him off and leaves.

Episode 3

Li Jin Rong has told her husband that he is no longer part of the clan once he steps out of the fortress. They part ways.

6 months later, Zhou Fei has trained herself up to try to beat the river traps. She has listened to her father’s advice that only the strong would have a choice to leave. Lu Yao helps her by giving her some pointers and she improves.

Qiu Tian Jin of the Di Sha Sect has captured General Wu Fei but he doesn’t get along with Shen Tian Shu. General Wu Fei accuses the sect of working with Yu Wen Zhi. Shen Tian Shu kills him and his wife when he refuses to hand over a ripple-shaped item. He is now after the general’s children who are now being transported by Chen Fei to Fortress 48 on Lord Gan Tang’s instruction.

Xie Yun helps Chen Fei and his group to flee from Qiu Tian Jin’s men. They then meet people from the Huo Manor. Old Master Huo and Li Jin Rong are allies. Chen Fei mistakenly thinks they are now safe.

During the fortress’ graduation event, Li Sheng manages to defeat many opponents including one of the sect’s elders. Zhou Fei chooses to challenge her own mother instead and wins. Her mother is quietly happy. She allows both Zhou Fei and Li Sheng to leave with Old Madame Wang to look for Chen Fei who should have been back at the fortress.

Before leaving, Li Jin Rong shows Zhou Fei the family’s Snow Breaking Blade martial art moves. Zhou Fei also informs Yu Lao about her success. Yu Lao relates to her how her grandfather, Li Zheng, had saved him in the past. He used to be a spy which made him a lot of enemies.

Episode 4

Yu Lao decided then to join Fortress 48 and Li Zheng is a hero to him. He believes Zhou Fei’s achievements will surpass her grandfather’s.

Zhou Fei and Li Sheng leave with Old Madame Wang to look for Chen Fei. Li Sheng learns from Zhou Fei that Li Jin Rong has shown her the Snow Breaking Blade moves. Xie Yun sneaks around and finds out Huo Lian Tao is imprisoning many martial artists in the dungeon. Shen Tian Shu is informed and makes his way to Huo Manor. He recalls that General Wu Fei’s letters that he intercepted had gone through Huo Manor.

Zhou Fei and her group arrive at a village. They help the villagers to fight off some bandits who are from Huo Manor which surprises them. Old Madame Wang suspects something amiss. Li Sheng wants to go and check things out first but Old Madame Wang stops him. But Li Sheng quietly leaves as he wants to show that he is more capable than Zhou Fei who tails him.

Zhou Fei loses sight of Li Sheng midway. But she discovers the dungeon instead when she falls down a covered hole. Zhou Fei realizes that it is Xie Yun on the other side of the wall and tells him that she is looking for Li Sheng. Huo Lian Tao is informed of an intruder.

Xie Yun relates to Zhou Fei that Chen Fei is also in the dungeon and they were tricked. Old Man Huo is sickly and the manor is now controlled by his brother, Huo Lian Tao, who wanted to be the leader of all the sects. Huo Lian Tao used his brother’s name to invite all the martial artists to Huo Manor and have them imprisoned if they resist. Zhou Fei wants to save them.

Episode 5

Xie Yun gives Zhou Fei information on the dungeon layout. He claims he has not been able to escape because of the drugged food although he has been sneaking around by picking the lock. He wants her to save her compatriots and leave without him. Xie Yun is still feeling guilty that he has caused her parents to separate. He gives her a wooden sword carving as a token.

While looking for Li Sheng and Chen Fei, Zhou Fei meets Shen Tian Shu who seems to be imprisoned as well. They are uncertain of each other’s identity but she offers him food. He is affected by her kindness and instructs his subordinate not to kill her if she is captured. Shen Tian Shu’s plan is to kill Mu Xiao Qiao who is the top master of the Si Xiang Mountain. Mu Xiao Qiao is Huo Lian Tao’s ally.

Zhou Fei doesn’t want to leave Xie Yun behind. When the Di Sha men arrive, Xie Yun leaves with her to look for the antidote for the drugging. They find out that the dungeon has been rigged with explosives. Zhou Fei and Xie Yun free all the prisoners including Reverend Chong Xiao of the Qi Sect and Chen Fei. The reverend gives Zhou Fei pointers on how to defeat the enemies as she fights them off.

While Shen Tian Shu is fighting Mu Xiao Qiao, Tong Tian Yang is after Huo Lian Tao who then lights the fuse to blow up the dungeon. All of them quickly escape. Li Sheng is not in the dungeon but has fallen down a cliff. Zhou Fei and Xie Yun split up with Chen Fei who takes Wu Chu Chu and her brother to safety. She and Xie Yun then bump into Mu Xiao Qiao.

Episode 6

Mu Xiao Qiao likes to sing a sorrowful song and Xie Yun tells him that he has got the lyrics wrong. He becomes depressed and they escape to reunite with Chen Fei. Shen Tian Shu asks Tong Tian Yang to go back to Huo Manor to investigate while he heads to Huarong. Xie Yun also suggests to Chen Fei that they take a rest in nearby Huarong before they continue their journey.

Chen Fei asks Zhou Fei to talk to General Wu Fei’s daughter, Wu Chu Chu, as she seems troubled. Zhou Fei assures Chu Chu that she will be safe at the fortress. She notices Chu Chu’s locket and gets the idea to wear Xie Yun’s token as a pendant. Xie Yun begins to get close to Zhou Fei and they become friends. He also tells Chen Fei that he is a songwriter before and wrote the song the Mu Xiao Qiao likes to sing to evade questions about his background.

Before parting ways, Reverend Chong Xiao gives Zhou Fei a manuscript as a token of appreciation. Xie Yun suspects the reverend is heading back to Huo Manor to investigate while they move on to Huarong. Li Jin Rong is furious with Zhou Fei and Li Sheng when told that they have gone missing. Old Madame Wang has found Li Sheng and advises him not to be envious of Zhou Fei.

In Huarong, they have a tiff with Governor Zhu’s son when he harasses Chu Chu. Xie Yun bullies him and escapes from his men. Shen Tian Shu arrives at the town and finds out Qiu Tian Jin is also there. They are suspicious of each other. Xie Yun invites Zhou Fei to drink with him. He is still evasive about his identity and relationship with General Wang Lin.

Episode 7

Zhou Fei falls into a drunken sleep. Xie Yun is developing feelings for her. The next morning, he shops for a sword for her and then bumps into Mr. Bai. Zhou Fei brings Chu Chu to see a doctor. Shen Tian Shu finds out that Prince Chen Zi Chen is the man behind Huo Lian Tao.

While Zhou Fei and Chu Chu are out, Qiu Tian Jin burns down the hotel. They remain among the crowd and notice that the hotel owner has been bought over. Even Governor Zhu has to obey Qiu Tian Jin when the latter shows him a badge. Shen Tian Shu arrives at the site. Qiu Tian Jin tells him that he is just following orders to capture General Wu Fei’s descendants. Shen Tian Shu instructs his subordinate not to allow Qiu Tian Jin to ruin their big plan.

Bodies are removed from the burnt building but Chu Chu and her brother are not among them. Qiu Tian Jin wants them captured. Zhou Fei kills a Di Sha Sect member and changes into his uniform. She learns that Shen Tian Shu and Qiu Tian Jin could be looking for different persons. Qiu Tian Jin finds out about Zhou Fei and orders his men to search for her.

Mr. Bai brings Xie Yun to meet Prince Chen Zi Chen. Xie Yun and the prince are foster brothers. He is worried about Zhou Fei but rationalizes that she might still be alive since Qiu Tian Jin is still looking for Chu Chu and her brother. Xie Yun suspects that the Di Sha Sect is after an object in the Wu’s possession. Zhou Fei suspects the same and eyes Chu Chu’s locket.

While hiding in the governor’s county house backyard, they notice Duan Jiu Niang who is muddleheaded.

Episode 8

Zhou Fei and Chu Chu are becoming good friends. Xie Yun and Mr. Bai go out to look for Zhou Fei. He suspects that Shen Tian Shu and Qiu Tian Jin are not on good terms. The Di Sha Sect is offering a generous reward for information on the fire survivors by claiming that they are robbers. Zhou Fei goes out to investigate but is stopped by Duan Jiu Niang who claims that she is her step-grandmother when she learns that Zhou Fei is Li Zheng’s granddaughter. Zhou Fei then faints after the fight.

The Di Sha Sect parades out Chen Fei whom they have captured to draw out his accomplices. Mr. Bai kills Chen Fei with a stone flick from among the crowd. Xie Yun is unhappy but Mr. Bai explains that Chen Fei will be tortured to death otherwise. He also learns from Mr. Bai that Prince Chen Zi Chen’s cooperation with Huo Lian Tao is to counter Yu Wen Zhi.

Mr. Bai apologizes to Xie Yun who understands that killing Chen Fei would also stop Zhou Fei from walking into a trap to save her senior. Xie Yun still couldn’t find Zhou Fei. When Zhou Fei awakes, she learns that Duan Jiu Niang has been muddleheaded for 10 years and the latter is a top martial artist known as Ku Rong Palm who has gone missing.

Qiu Tian Jin’s men are looking for the Wu’s while Shen Tian Shu’s men are searching for Prince Chen Zi Chen who has to hide in a secret compartment to escape detection. The prince is now trapped at Huarong with the city gates locked and Xie Yun strategizes to get him out.

Zhou Fei learns from the maid that Li Zheng had once saved them from attackers.

Episode 9

Duan Jiu Niang and Li Zheng’s meeting was coincidental as he was passing by during the attack by the Di Sha Sect. She fell in love with him but was rejected. They parted ways and somehow, she ended up as Governor Zhu’s concubine.

Duan Jiu Niang could counter Zhou Fei’s Snow Breaking Blade and offers to train her. But Zhou Fei invites her to go back to Fortress 48 instead. Duan Jiu Niang recalls she had gone to the fortress once to challenge Li Zheng and also met Zhou Fei’s mother. She couldn’t defeat him then and left. Later, she was poisoned after a tiff with the Di Sha Sect members again. Li Zheng saved her again but still rejected her advances.

Duan Jiu Niang questions Zhou Fei why she should follow her back to Fortress 48. Zhou Fei suddenly feels unqualified to ask due to her poor martial art skills. Duan Jiu Niang then forces the Ku Rong spirit into Zhou Fei’s body. It could kill her or make her stronger depending on her endurance power. Zhou Fei faints from the pain.

Xie Yun tricks Shen Tian Shu to head to Huo Manor and sows further discord between him and Qiu Tian Jin to create an opportunity for Prince Chen Zi Chen to escape. The prince asks Xie Yun to follow him back but the latter declines.

Li Sheng and the Fortress 48 group bump into Tong Tian Yang. He recognizes Tong Tian Yang’s token and thinks the latter killed his father. Old Madame Wang refrains him from taking action due to the risk. But Li Sheng goes ahead on his own. In the end, Old Madame Wang has to protect him and is killed by Shen Tian Shu. Reverend Chong Xiao appears and saves Li Sheng.

Episode 10

Li Sheng wants to go back to check on Old Madame Wang. Reverend Chong Xiao renders him unconscious to prevent him from endangering himself.

Zhou Fei dreams of Xie Yun and awakens after a bout of suffering. Duan Jiu Niang has blocked off her powers to enable her to inherit Ku Rong Palm but is spurned. It angers Duan Jiu Niang who nearly wanted to kill her. Duan Jiu Niang has a nephew, Bao Shan, whom she brought up as promised when her twin sister died. Her twin sister was Governor Zhu’s concubine.

Reverend Chong Xiao tells Li Sheng where he has buried Old Madame Wang and that he has met Zhou Fei whom he thinks has better martial art skills. He gets Li Sheng to follow him to Huo Manor but is too late. Huo Lian Tao has found the seal that his brother has been hiding. Mu Xiao Qiao had warned Old Man Huo before that the seal could bring him danger as it is related to a big secret. She is indebted to him for saving her life once. Old Man Huo has been poisoned and dies from the stress. There is a witness to the whole incident. Shen Tian Shu instructs his men to pursue Huo Lian Tao while he returns to Huarong as Qiu Tian Jin has been killing his men due to their misunderstanding.

Xie Yun Finds Zhou Fei

Zhou Fei tries to use the moves in Reverend Chong Xiao’s manuscript to unlock her blocked inner force but unsuccessful. She meditates to balance back the forces in her body but is shivering. Chu Chu has to get out of their hiding room to look for charcoal and bumps into Governor Zhu’s son whom they have offended previously. He turns out to be Duan Jiu Niang’s nephew. Chu Chu runs away.

Xie Yun uses someone to disguise as Chu Chu to find Zhou Fei and divert Qiu Tian Jin’s attention just as he is searching Governor Zhu’s county house. Chu Chu tries to sneak back to Zhou Fei but gets mistaken as a new maid and ordered to run an errand at a shop. Bao Shan informs Qiu Tian Jin where to find Chu Chu but her double diverts the soldiers’ attention. He also finds Zhou Fei in the county house backyard but Duan Jiu Niang mistakenly punches him until he falls unconscious.

Xie Yun meets Chu Chu who brings him to see Zhou Fei.

Episode 11

Zhou Fei is still struggling to balance the competing forces in her body. Bao Shan has snuck off to inform Qiu Tian Jin. Duan Jiu Niang has to fight off Qiu Tian Jin to protect the weakened Zhou Fei. Xie Yun asks Mr. Bai to lead Chu Chu out of the city first. Zhou Fei keeps Chu Chu’s locket for the latter’s safety. She tries to merge the 2 forces within herself and succeeds just in time to save Xie Yun from the enemies.

Zhou Fei then joins Duan Jiu Niang and kills Qiu Tian Jin to avenge Chen Fei’s death. She has now combined Snow Breaking Blade and Ku Rong Palm in her moves which makes Duan Jiu Niang happy. But Zhou Fei then faints due to the exertion. Shen Tian Shu appears with his men. He has captured Chu Chu and Mr. Bai. Duan Jiu Niang fights with him. Zhou Fei dreams of her grandfather and re-awakens to help Xie Yun save Chu Chu and Mr. Bai. They split up as Zhou Fei wants to help Duan Jiu Niang. Xie Yun wants to stay with Zhou Fei.

Duan Jiu Niang Dies

However, Duan Jiu Niang forces them to leave as she wants to settle an old score with the Di Sha Sect. She was once poisoned by the Di Sha Sect members. Li Zheng saved her but the poison was transferred to his body. He rejected her because he knew he was going to die. Duan Jiu Niang subsequently became Governor Zhu’s concubine for Bao Shan’s sake. Li Jin Rong brought over the wedding gift that her father had prepared and informed her of his death.

Duan Jiu Niang is killed by Shen Tian Shu due to the hidden weapon from his steel hand. She sees Li Zheng as she dies. Li Jin Rong is worried about Zhou Fei and Li Sheng as there is still no news from them. Xie Yun and Zhou Fei are being pursued and they end up in Sanchun Inn. Zhou Fei dreams of Duan Jiu Niang. Reverend Chong Xiao still wants Li Sheng to accompany him. Mr. Bai sends Chu Chu to General Wen Yu and tells him where Xie Yun might be.

Episode 12

Zhou Fei is worried about Chu Chu and Duan Jiu Niang. Xie Yun reassures her that Chu Chu will be fine with Mr. Bai. Then, they heard from the inn’s patrons that Duan Jiu Niang has been killed by the Di Sha Sect. Zhou Fei feels sad.

Chu Chu is with General Wen Yu. A man appears to claim that he is ordered by Li Jin Rong to send Chu Chu to Fortress 48. Chu Chu is suspicious and insists that she wants to follow General Wen Yu to look for Zhou Fei.

Reverend Chong Xiao plans to make Li Sheng his successor to lead the Qi Sect which has declined in recent years. However, Li Sheng is reluctant. Feng Wu Yan who has been evicted from the sect wants Reverend Chong Xiao’s position but is not able to overcome the reverend in a fight. He vows to take down Li Sheng to scuttle Reverend Chong Xiao’s plan.

At Sanchun Inn, Zhou Fei and Xie Yun witness the owner, Hua Zheng Long, getting into trouble with Dragon Master’s subordinates, Yin Pei and Old Dragon, who accuse him of hiding Ji Yun Chen. Yin Pei has personal issues with Ji Yun Chen involving the former’s parents. Ji Yun Chen is the North Blade’s successor but has already abolished his martial art skills.

During the altercation, Zhou Fei kills Old Dragon when he launches hidden poisoned needles. Hua Zheng Long blocks them but has to chop off his palm after being struck by a needle. He practices the Lotus Palm moves. Just then, General Wen Yu arrives with Chu Chu. Zhou Lei finds out that Xie Yun is the Emperor of the former dynasty and is angry at being lied to.

Episode 13

Reverend Chong Xiao is injured after the fight and takes Li Sheng with him into a trigam formation. Feng Wu Yan follows them. He is dissatisfied that his father who was the former chief of the sect had anointed Reverend Chong Xiao to succeed him. The reverend teaches Li Sheng how to exit the formation. Feng Wu Yan is trapped when he opens the wrong door.

Yin Pei wants Ji Yun Chen dead as he thinks the latter owes him for his father’s life. Ji Yun Chen doesn’t mind dying but doesn’t want the North Blade martial art moves to die with him. He wants to pass it on first which angers Yin Pei as his father didn’t have such opportunity to find a successor for the family’s Mountain Sword moves.

Li Jin Rong asks Kou Dan to leave the fortress to look for Old Madame Wang. General Wen Yu wants Xie Yun to follow him back. Zhou Fei returns Chu Chu’s locket. Chu Chu explains to Zhou Fei that Xie Yun is Prince Xiao Chuan from the former dynasty. He was smuggled out of the palace when he was a baby during a siege and a subsequent rebellion saw a new dynasty being installed.

Chu Chu also shows Zhou Fei a letter supposedly from Li Jin Rong requesting for Chu Chu to be sent to Fortress 48. But they suspect it is fake. Chu Chu only wants to follow Zhou Fei as she doesn’t trust anyone else. Xie Yun grovels and apologizes to Zhou Fei to appease her anger for lying about his identity. He tells her that he has no family to go back to.

Escaping From Dragon Master

Dragon Master arrives at the inn and demands for Yin Pei. General Wen Yu stops him from entering and tells him that he is protecting an important person. Dragon Master doesn’t want a fight but changes his mind when he sees Chu Chu and Zhou Fei. While General Wen Yu is fighting Dragon Master, Xie Yun asks Ji Yun Chen to lead them to safety through the secret tunnel in the inn. Ji Yun Chen agrees on the condition that Yin Zhi Pei is allowed to come along.

Yin Pei angers Zhou Fei when he tries to take Chu Chu hostage. Zhou Fei wants to kill him but stops when told that he could be Yin Wen Lan’s son. Yin Wen Lan was a reputable martial artist. Hua Zheng Long refuses to go with them. He owes his life to Ji Yun Chen and pushes him inside the tunnel before closing the door. Hua Zheng Long then takes on Dragon Master and his men alone. He pulls a rope that collapses the building to stop the enemies but Dragon Master continues to look for the escapees.

Reverend Chong Xiao begins teaching Li Sheng the Qi Sect’s moves and formations so that there is someone to inherit the knowledge.

Episode 14

Ji Yun Chen leads Zhou Fei, Xie Yun, Yin Pei, and Chu Chu to safety before the Dragon Master arrives. He relates that his master, Guan Feng of the North Blade, stopped him from leaving for the Central Plains when he was young. He still left and challenged other masters along the way. When Yin Wen Lan refused to take up his challenge, Ji Yun Chen used his son as hostage to lure him out. Yin Wen Lan was already injured from a battle with the Di Sha Sect earlier but still won the challenge. While they were fighting, the Di Sha Sect went to his residence and slaughtered his whole family. Yin Wen Lan rushed back and was killed as well. Yin Pei is Yin Wen Lan’s son.

Ji Yun Chen feels extremely guilty. Xie Yun advises Yin Pei to look for the real murderer instead. After leaving their hiding place, they run into the Dragon Master who wants Yin Pei back for stealing from him. Xie Yun tricks him that he is related to the imperial family and General Wen Yu is protecting him nearby. But the trick does not last long before they are pursued again. Zhou Fei fights him while the rest moves ahead. Xie Yun helps her to escape after a round of fighting and they take refuge in a hidden tunnel while Reverend Chong Xiao brings Li Sheng into the secret hall of the Qi Sect.

Xie Yun confronts Yin Pei. He suspects that Yin Pei has planned all along to escape from the Dragon Master and uses his grudge with Ji Yun Chen as a way to kill off Old Dragon. They now want to know why he is doing so.

Episode 15

Yin Zhi Pei claims that he is only taking back what has been stolen from his family as he gets into an argument with the group. Chu Chu has a sharp memory and is drawing out all the Ku Rong Palm moves as a record. Zhou Fei regrets that her knowledge of Ku Rong Palm is shallow although Duan Jiu Niang has passed on the spiritual force to her. Ji Yun Chen is listening to their conversation. Zhou Fei is also curious why Xie Yun has excellent light footwork but is not good at martial arts.

Dragon Master continues searching and finds the entrance to the secret tunnel. He wants back the Mountain Sword that Yin Pei has stolen. As Dragon Master nears their hiding place, Xie Yun wants all of them to leave. But Ji Yun Chen asks Zhou Fei to stay back to help him to kill Dragon Master. In return, he will teach her the North Blade moves. Zhou Fei agrees to help him but has no interest to learn the North Blade.

Ji Yun Chen teaches Zhou Fei how to counter Dragon Master and realizes the power of North Blade. Xie Yun tries to persuade Zhou Fei to leave but unsuccessful. He decides to stay with her. Zhou Fei manages to gain insights to improvise her moves with Ji Yun Chen’s help. She will need to stall Dragon Master until Ji Yun Chen has regained his powers. Dragon Master has found their hiding place.

Episode 16

Zhou Fei fights with Dragon Master. Ji Yun Chen is using special needles to temporarily revive his martial arts skills. Zhou Fei would have killed Dragon Master if not for the body armor that he is wearing. Xie Yun steps forward and guesses that the special body armor must have been stolen from the Yin family. He also brings up The Color of Ocean and Heaven object which surprises Dragon Master and makes him reluctant to kill Xie Yun.

Dragon Master then tries to take Chu Chu hostage but Ji Yun Chen regains his powers just in time to fight him off. Ji Yun Chen accuses him of killing Yin Wen Lan and his family. Yin Pei helps Ji Yun Chen and rips off Dragon Master’s body armor. Ji Yun Chen is injured as he tries to stop Dragon Master from strangling Yin Pei. Zhou Fei stabs him and pushes him into a pool.

Ji Yun Chen dies from the fight and effects from the needles. Yin Pei doesn’t want back the body armor and gives it to Chu Chu before leaving.

Gu Tian Xian Of Di Sha Sect

Reverend Chong Xiao gives Li Sheng some pointers to improve his sword skills before parting ways. Zhou Fei, Chu Chu, and Xie Yun are traveling together. Xie Yun recalls his youth whereby he was used as a bait to lure out enemies. He was struck by a poison arrow during a battle. His uncle suppressed the poison which also blocked his ability to practice martial arts.

Zhou Fei faints from the forces imbalance in her body due to the Ku Rong spirit. They bump into General Wen Yu on the way to Hengyang for treatment. Xie Yun asks him to send Chu Chu to Lord Gan Tang while he heads to Hengyang with Zhou Fei. Li Jin Rong’s letters to Lord Gan Tang are intercepted by Shen Tian Shu. As there is no reply, she is getting worried and sends Ma Ji Li to investigate. Li Yan wants to follow Ma Ji Li. Shen Tian Shu sends for Gu Tian Xian to handle Li Jin Rong as he knows she will be panicking and sets out for Hengyang.

Li Sheng notices Gu Tian Xian and his men on his way back to the fortress. General Wen Yu and Chu Chu are also nearby. He asks Chu Chu to stay behind while he moves ahead to check for animal traps in the forest. Li Sheng bumps into Chu Chu and tells her to hide from the Di Sha Sect members. He purposely falls into a pit trap to divert their attention. Gu Tian Xian is suspicious and questions Li Sheng.

Episode 17

Li Sheng pretends that he is a hunter. Gu Tian Xian lets him go and moves on. When General Wen Yu returns, Li Sheng informs him that Gu Tian Xian is heading towards Hengyang. General Wen Yu will inform Lord Gan Tang while Li Sheng will send Chu Chu to Fortress 48.

Xie Yun and Zhou Fei arrive at Hengyang. He is looking for Madam Ni Chang of the Yuyi Troupe to treat Zhou Fei and asks the inn’s waiter to seek information for him. Xie Yun then changes to his scriptwriter persona, Qian Sui You. He tries to ask a regular contact, Mr. Wang, about the Yuyi Troupe but gets chased out.

Shen Tian Shu is also at Hengyang and discovers from the waiter that someone else is also asking about an opera troupe. A man and Mr. Wang are subsequently found dead. They are from the troupe’s secret services and refuse to divulge Madam Ni Chang’s whereabouts. Xie Yun tries to trick Ling Yu and Ling Bo of the Yuyi Troupe to bring him to see Madam Ni Chang but unsuccessful. He tails them instead. Ling Yu reports back to Madam Ni Chang what happened.

Xie Yun brings Zhou Fei to Madam Ni Chang. Shen Tian Shu gets his men to follow them to find out Madam Ni Chang’s location. Madam Ni Chang refuses to save Zhou Fei until she learns that Zhou Fei is Li Zheng’s granddaughter. She will lose her powers if she saves Zhou Fei but is willing to do it as Li Zheng had saved her life in the past. Zhou Fei is reluctant to accept treatment but Madam Ni Chang goes ahead to save Zhou Fei when she faints. Then, Shen Tian Shu turns up.

Episode 18

Shen Tian Shu wants Madam Ni Chang to tell him everything she knows about The Color Of Ocean And Heaven. Otherwise, he will kill all her disciples. She claims that she has only heard from her elders that it is a treasure trove but knows nothing else. She threatens him that Lord Gan tang’s troops are nearby Hengyang and could arrive anytime if he creates trouble. Shen Tian Shu lets it go and leaves.

Xie Yun thanks Madam Ni Chang for saving Zhou Fei. But she tells him that she isn’t doing it for him but for Li Zheng. She also learns from Xie Yun that the Di Sha Sect has been looking for The Color Of Ocean And Heaven. She is curious about Xie Yun’s identity and guesses he must be General Wang Lin’s or Lord Gan Tang’s man.

Zhou Fei awakens while Madam Ni Chang is recovering well after treating her. Li Jin Rong gets news that the fortress’ secret service agents have defected and gets out to investigate. Li Sheng and Chu Chu stop by a tavern to rest for the night. Xie Yun brings Zhou Fei out for food and chats with her about the different martial arts masters. She still thinks that she is inadequate but Xie Yun reassures her that she is not too bad herself. He also advises her not to attract attention until she is back in Fortress 48.

Li Yan is dissatisfied with a storyteller’s account of her grandfather which makes Yang Jin suspicious that she may be the South Blade’s successor. He challenges her to a fight but mistakenly knocks her unconscious instead. Ma Ji Li is worried when Li Yan is missing. Li Yan is angry with Yang Jin when she awakens and thinks he is crazy.

Episode 19

Yang Jin insists on a challenge as he thinks Li Yan is the heroine who has killed Qiu Tian Jin and Dragon Master. Li Yan tells him that she is not. Then, the person Yang Jin hired, Chief Xu of the Route Gang, informs him that Zhou Fei, the South Blade’s successor, has been found. They confine Li Yan to lure Zhou Fei out.

Xie Yun gives Madam Ni Chang a valuable manuscript to repay her for saving Zhou Fei. Madam Ni Chang finds Zhou Fei shares Li Zheng’s characteristics. Then, Chief Xu and Yang Jin arrive at her residence and demand for Zhou Fei. They show her Li Yan’s bracelet to force her to fight. Yang Jin is the leader of Cloud Ravine Sect and wants to prove his skills. However, Zhou Fei refuses his challenge. Instead, Xie Yun orders him to release Li Yan within 3 days.

Madam Ni Chang instructs Ling Yu to investigate Yang Jin’s background. She is weakened after saving Zhou Fei. Zhou Fei and Xie Yun tail Yang Jin. They see Li Yan but she refuses to go with them. Li Yan wants Zhou Fei to accept Yang Jin’s challenge to get him defeated. Madam Ni Chang is told that Yang Jin has a clean record and is only interested to be the best martial artist. She feels it is pointless to fight over useless titles.

Li Sheng brings Chu Chu to a pharmacy which is supposed to be the sect’s secret service agency. Chu Chu warns him that the secret agents may have defected like what happened in Huarong. They manage to escape and their relationship warms up.

Zhou Fei wants to accept Yang Jin’s challenge which angers Xie Yun as he is worried about her health. She tries to placate him.

Episode 20

Zhou Fei wants Xie Yun to help her to identify Yang Jin’s weakness in his marital arts moves. Xie Yun tries to scare her that she wouldn’t be able to match Yang Jin but she wouldn’t listen. Zhou Fei feels she shouldn’t shy away from challenges as that will harm South Blade’s reputation. She begins to waver when she overhears that Madam Ni Chang has lost half of her powers to save her and is still weak. Zhou Fei also feels unwell after pushing Xie Yun away once he gets too close for comfort and is affected by the proximity. Xie Yun advises her not to fight Yang Jin as she has yet to fully recover.

Li Sheng and Chu Chu encounter bandits. He shields her with his body during a fight. The bandits let them go once he offers them money. Chu Chu is touched by Li Sheng’s action.

Li Yan is angry at Yang Jin for practicing noisily throughout the night that she can’t sleep. He listens to her and stops. Chief Xu informs Yang Jin that Zhou Fei is nursing an injury. So, Yang Jin offers Zhou Fei his special medicine that can help a person to quickly recover their inner powers for the challenge. Zhou Fei has abandoned her plan to fight him initially but wants the medicine for Madam Ni Chang. She asks Madam Ni Chang to lend her a sword.

Zhou Fei defeats Yang Jin as she is now wiser in probing an opponent’s weakness. She gives the medicine to Madam Ni Chang who is touched by her gesture. Zhou Fei also returns the sword to her. She learns that it is her grandfather’s sword and it comes in a pair together with Yin Wen Lan’s Mountain Sword.

Episode 21

Li Zheng and Yin Wen Lan were good friends and admired each other’s skills. During a friendly fight, they broke each other’s sword. Madam Ni Chang who was with them made a replica of their weapons but didn’t have a chance to give it to them. She then tells Zhou Fei to keep the sword meant for her grandfather. Zhou Fei is still wary of telling Madam Ni Chang about Chu Chu as her mother has warned her to be careful.

Yin Pei is attacked and saved by Reverend Chong Xiao who was a good friend of Yin Wen Lan. Yin Pei has become cynical of his father’s so-called friends as they are always after the Mountain Sword. Reverend Chong Xiao gives him a letter written by his father to convince him. He also advises Yin Pei that he should never practice martial arts as it could be fatal due to his weak body.

Li Sheng and Chu Chu are heading back to Fortress 48. The Yuyi Troupe has quietly left the city. Ma Ji Li finds Zhou Fei and Li Yan. They travel back to the fortress with Xie Yun tagging along. Yang Jin follows them as he is dissatisfied and wants another challenge. Li Yan argues with him and snatches his Route Gang token and gives it to Zhou Fei.

Kou Dan and Yu Lao are from Ming Feng Pavilion. She passes him a letter from Yu Wen Zhi who seeks reconciliation with Ming Feng Pavilion for past misunderstandings. Kou Dan wants to revive Ming Feng Pavilion as a spy organization but Yu Lao is not keen. He is also suspicious. Ma Ji Li asks the group to rest well for the night before they continue their journey. They are already in the vicinity of the fortress.

Episode 22

Li Yan is missing from her room. Zhou Fei and Xie Yun find her in the streets with Yang Jin who insists on following her to Fortress 48. Li Yan finds her annoying and storms off. She bumps into Li Sheng and Chu Chu and brings them back to the inn to meet Ma Ji Li. Li Sheng tells Ma Ji Li that their secret service agents have defected.

Zhou Fei and Xie Yun see birds getting startled over at the fortress while on a hill. Kou Dan has killed Yu Lao. She stops the traps across Ximo River. She wants to revive Meng Feng Pavilion to be a top spy organization rather than be subordinated by Fortress 48. Kou Dan’s men kill the patrol guards while Gu Tian Xian waits for the spinning wire traps to stop working.

Lord Gan Tang heads north after hearing about Yu Wen Zhi’s moves. Zhou Fei tells Ma Ji Li about trouble at the fortress. They discover the guards have been killed. The killing method belongs to Ming Feng Pavilion. Kou Dan gives the map of the spinning wire traps to Gu Tian Xian for his men to advance.

As Li Jin Rong is not around, Xie Yun gives Zhou Fei tips on how to make the elders cooperate to defend the fortress. Li Sheng splits up from them to join Deng Zhen’s group. He changes the traps’ locations to stop the enemies. Zhou Fei asks Li Yan to remain in the fortress hall to protect Chu Chu. Her group confronts Gu Tian Xian and Kou Dan. Zhou Fei defeats Kou Dan in a fight but news arrive that Shen Tian Shu’s soldiers are at the foot of the mountain.

Deng Zhen asks Li Sheng about Old Madame Wang and Chen Fei.

Episode 23

Li Sheng lies to Deng Zhen that Old Madame Wang and Chen Fei are fine to keep up his morale.

Gu Tian Xian wants Fortress 48 to hand over the tokens for The Color of Ocean and Heaven and cooperate with Yu Wen Zhi. General Wu Fei had one of the tokens while Yin Wen Lan had another. Years ago, Yu Lao was sent to hide one of the tokens but was almost killed by the Di Sha Sect. Li Zheng saved him and brought him back to Fortress 48. Hence, the token must be at the fortress. Kou Dan accuses Li Jin Rong of trying to collect the tokens with her interest in Chu Chu.

Li Sheng asks his men to loudly pass a message to Zhou Fei that they have secured the fortress to trick Gu Tian Xian and Kou Dan into retreating as the traps could be re-activated. Li Sheng’s group continue to battle the Di Sha Sect soldiers. They manage to shut the fortress gate to secure it.

Chu Chu helps to treat the wounded disciples. She tells Li Sheng that she now hates the Di Sha Sect for killing her parents and destroying Fortress 48 and wants to take up her responsibility. Zhou Fei is sad over Yu Lao’s death. She manages to restart the spinning wire formation. Yu Wen Zhi takes control of the nearby town and jails the people to cut supply to the fortress. Zhou Fei offers to go to the town to capture Yu Wen Zhi.

Chu Chu gives Zhou Fei her locket. She thinks it will be safer with Zhou Fei and trusts her. Li Sheng asks Li Yan to help deliver a letter to Lord Gan Tang. Xie Yun offers to leave with Zhou Fei.

Episode 24

Li Sheng has to leave to protect the fortress. He hugs Chu Chu and asks her to wait for his return.

Zhou Fei leaves for the town with Xie Yun and a few other disciples. Xie Yun has with him Ji Yun Chen’s special needles. Zhou Fei asks the disciples to look for the imprisoned townspeople while she will hunt for Yu Wen Zhi.

Li Yan encounters enemies while on the way to deliver Li Sheng’s letter but manages to escape. Yu Wen Zhi and Shen Tian Shu agree to a deal to attack Fortress 48 from different entrances although they are distrustful of each other. Kou Dan reports that the fortress people are planning to capture Yu Wen Zhi. Shen Tian Shu orders Gu Tian Xian to keep an eye on Yu Wen Zhi who has no plans to attack the fortress until Shen Tian Shu has gained entry.

Xie Yun suspects Yu Wen Zhi has set a trap to lure them out. He tells Zhou Fei to save the townspeople first to throw Yu Wen Zhi off-guard.

Shen Tian Shu is at the gate of Fortress 48 and mentions Old Madame Wang’s and Chen Fei’s deaths. Deng Zhen gets agitated and exits the fortress to lunge at the enemies. Li Sheng has to save him. Once the gate opens, the enemies charge. They retreat to the bridge. Li Sheng sets off the explosives to hold the enemies back and jumps off the bridge.

Zhou Fei sees the flare that Fortress 48 is in danger. She is worried but continues her mission. Xie Yun helps her to find Yu Wen Zhi’s hiding place. Chu Chu calms the fortress’ civilians as they hide. Li Yan continues her journey and is attacked by the Di Sha Sect. Yang Jin saves her.

Episode 25

Li Yan insists that Yang Jin goes to help Zhou Fei while she will deliver the letter. However, she encounters Di Sha Sect soldiers again at the secret service center. They confiscate her letter but it is merely a blank sheet of paper. Li Yan realizes that Li Sheng has tricked her in order to get her to leave the fortress which means it must be in danger. The secret service agent sacrifices himself to allow Li Yan to escape. She rides to seek Lord Gan Tang’s help.

Li Jin Rong arrives at Lord Gan Tang’s camp but learns that he has headed north. General Wen Yu informs her that Gu Tian Xian has been seen near Fortress 48. She rushes back. Chu Chu overhears that Li Sheng might have fallen into Ximo River after blowing up the bridge.

Yu Wen Zhi is informed that someone from Fortress 48 has escaped to seek help. Gu Tian Xian wants Yu Wen Zhi to send his troops to help Shen Tian Shu before Lord Gan Tang arrives. Yu Wen Zhi agrees but starts to get suspicious about Kou Dan who fails to tell them that there is a secret route out of the fortress. He feels unsafe and changes his hiding place. When Zhou Fei sneaks into his room, she discovers Gu Tian Xian instead. Kou Dan appears and Zhou Fei sows distrust between Kou Dan and Gu Tian Xian before escaping by giving the impression that Kou Dan is secretly trying to kill Yu Wen Zhi.

The Fight At The Fortress

As Yu Wen Zhi becomes suspicious, he wants the guards changed and this leads Zhou Fei and Xie Yun to his new hiding place. Xie Yun distracts Gu Tian Xian to allow Zhou Fei to get in. But Zhou Fei couldn’t capture Yu Wen Zhi as he is guarded by Kou Dan. She is also being surrounded by soldiers. Yang Jin arrives with Chief Xu’s gang to help Zhou Fei. Yu Wen Zhi is captured. Zhou Fei wants Yu Wen Zhi to ask his soldiers to retreat if he wants to live.

Li Yan meets Li Jin Rong on the way to Lord Gan Tang’s camp. She tells her aunt what happened and they rush back. Fortress 48 defenses are breached. But Shen Tian Shu has to ask his soldiers to retreat as Yu Wen Zhi has been captured. Zhou Fei brings Yu Wen Zhi back to the fortress to face Shen Tian Shu. Ma Ji Li has been taken in by Kou Dan’s prior advice that Fortress 48 should not get involved in the royal’s affairs or they would be destroyed. He pushes Zhou Fei which allows Yu Wen Zhi to escape from her clutches.

The fighting begins again. Zhou Fei gives Chu Chu’s locket to Xie Yun for safekeeping. The locket is actually the key to open The Color of Ocean and Heaven. Ma Ji Li regrets his action and tries to kill Kou Dan. But he is the one who gets killed instead. Zhou Fei subsequently defeats Kou Dan and kills her. But there are too many enemy soldiers. Xie Yun uses Ji Yun Chen’s needles to temporarily regains his martial arts powers and hurts Shen Tian Shu.

Episode 26

Zhou Fei is amazed by Xie Yun’s powers. Together with Yang Jin and the rest, they battle it out with the soldiers. Li Jin Rong is arriving back at the fortress. Shen Tian Shu orders a retreat. They meet halfway. Li Jin Rong fights with Shen Tian Shu and cuts off his steel hand. He throws it back at Li Jin Rong and retreats. Zhou Fei faints after all the exertion.

Chu Chu looks for Li Sheng and finds him underneath the bridge. Li Jin Rong is relieved that he is alive. She also looks for Zhou Fei and sees her blade. Zhou Fei tells her about her encounter with Duan Jiu Niang. When she mentions Xie Yun, her mother doesn’t seem happy. Li Sheng checks on Zhou Fei. They may fight and argue but care about each other like siblings.

Zhou Fei is hesitant to ask Xie Yun about his martial arts skills and real identity as she knows he will just fool her. He returns Chu Chu’s locket to her. He also tells her that he is looking for The Color of Ocean and Heaven to ensure it wouldn’t fall into the wrong hands. Also, Chu Chu’s locket, Yin Pei’s Mountain Sword, and a bracelet kept in Fortress 48 are the keys. Zhou Fei tells Xie Yun that she would not be impulsive anymore and would listen to him in the future. She has more to say but Xie Yun makes her unconscious to prevent her from doing so.

Xie Yun Leaves

From Xie Yun’s Cloud Impelling Palm martial art moves, Yu Wen Zhi knows he is Xiao Chuan who is supposed to be dead. Yu Wen Zhi had tried to kill Xie Yun in the past. Xie Yun’s body has been poisoned and if he practices martial arts, the poison will start to seep into his body and kill him within months. Yu Wen Zhi wants Shen Tian Shu to quickly get the keys despite their distrust of each other as Xie Yun could also be after them.

Li Sheng wants to get Chu Chu’s brother to reunite with her. She is willing to remain at Fortress 48. Li Jin Rong is grateful to Xie Yun for helping Zhou Fei and Fortress 48. But she still wants him to leave. Zhou Fei wants to follow Xie Yun to look for The Color of Ocean and Heaven. They now have feelings for each other. But Xie Yun knows it is time for him to leave her.

The next morning, Zhou Fei wants to give Xie Yun a pouch that she has embroidered but couldn’t find him. She also tries to return to Chu Chu her locket. They decide that it will be safest to leave it with Li Jin Rong for safekeeping.

Episode 27

Zhou Fei and Chu Chu are at a restaurant and listening to a storyteller. They find the story familiar and it also reminds Chu Chu of someone named Peng Lai whom she has read before. Xie Yun has left Fortress 48. Huo Lian Tao is organizing a Di Sha Extermination assembly and is inviting other sects to attend. Li Sheng offers to go on Li Jin Rong’s behalf. Huo Lian Tao is tightening his security as he knows the Di Sha Sect will be after the seal that he has taken from his brother. As Shen Tian Shu is injured from the battle at Fortress 48, he asks Chu Tian Yu to try to get the seal.

Reverend Chong Xiao is worried that enemies will be after Yin Pei’s Mountain Sword. He is planning to create replicas to confuse them. Yin Pei vomits blood when he tries to use his powers and consumes the Phoenix Pill which could harm him. Reverend Chong Xiao treats him. Li Sheng thanks Yang Jin for helping to defend Fortress 48. Yang Jin still wants to challenge Zhou Fei. Li Yan promises to bring him to her.

Searching For Xie Yun

Zhou Fei looks for Xie Yun. Yin Pei thinks Reverend Chong Xiao is after his Mountain Sword when he finds it missing. The reverend has just taken it to create replicas. Yin Pei consumes the Phoenix Pills and kills the reverend to get back his sword. The pills will increase his powers but will cause him to become demonic and die after 2 years. Yin Pei is prepared to die for his plans. He then meets Feng Wu Yan and tells him that he has killed Reverend Chong Xiao.

Xie Yun is in a restaurant in Lingling and many martial artists are also there to attend the assembly. He is shivering from the effects of the poison. Zhu Chen and Zhu Ying of the Xingnan Sect offer him a robe. Xie Yun left just before Zhou Fei arrives. Li Yan and Yang Jin are also at the restaurant. Later, Zhou Fei saves Zhu Chen and Zhu Ying from Ding Kui’s subordinates who want the Zhu family’s invitation to attend Huo Lian Tao’s assembly. Li Yan tells Zhou Fei that Huo Lian Tao is just using the assembly for selfish motives.

Xie Yun bumps into Madam Ni Chang. She advises him not to care too much about the ending and just follow his heart when they discuss about Zhou Fei. Chen Zi Chen is also at Lingling. Xie Yun tells him it is pointless to attend the assembly as there aren’t many righteous martial artists as he imagines. He also learns that Zhou Fei is at Lingling. Mr. Bai is also looking for Xie Yun. He seeks out Zhou Fei. He wants Xie Yun to try to advice Chen Zi Chen not to attend the assembly.

Episode 28

Xie Yun tries to hide from Zhou Fei but unsuccessful. She suspects that he has been poisoned with the Bone Chilling poison. But Xie Yun tries to fool her. She left the fortress to find him but pretends otherwise when he doesn’t reciprocate. Xie Yun is reluctant to drag Zhou Fei into his troubles as he won’t live long. Zhou Fei renders him unconscious and brings him back to the inn.

Ding Kui has arrived at Lingling. Li Sheng and Chu Chu are also in town. They bump into Zhou Fei. She asks Li Sheng to fetch Madam Ni Chang over to treat Xie Yun. Ying He Cong has been observing Xie Yun. He is a poison collector.

Ding Kui wants to cooperate with Huo Lian Tao to take on the Di Sha Sect but gets rejected. He then asks Mu Xiao Qiao to cooperate with him. He gets a servant from Huo Manor to relate what happened to Old Man Huo. Chu Tian Yu appears before Huo Lian Tao.

Madam Ni Chang confirms that Xie Yun is has the Bone Chilling poison and there is no cure. Ying He Cong also takes a look at him and surmises that Xie Yun has been poisoned for a long time but has a force to suppress it. However, he has used the Soul Searching Needle to revive his powers which lets out the poison. He only has a few months left and mustn’t use his inner powers anymore.

Zhou Fei gets a special lock to prevent Xie Yun from escaping. Yang Jin challenges Zhou Fei again. She tricks him that The Color of Ocean and Heaven has a collection from the different martial arts sects and Reborn Pill to get him off her back. Xie Yun smiles at her trick.

Episode 29

Xie Yun tells Zhou Fei not to feel guilty over his health as he is living on borrowed time anyway. He is a threat to the present regime and and someone had already sacrificed his life to save him once. Xie Yun doesn’t believe the Reborn Pill will work or it still exists. Zhou Fei is angry that he is resigned to his fate. She wants to look for a solution to avoid any regrets later on.

Xie Yun tricks Li Sheng to unlock him after bathing. Zhou Fei has anticipated it and locks him up again. Zhu Chen cooks a dish for Zhou Fei but didn’t have a chance to give it to her. Xie Yun notices it and treats her the same dish. Ying He Cong asks Xie Yun if he can keep his body for study after Xie Yun dies but gets ignored.

Xie Yun wants to go to Huo Lian Tao’s assembly. Zhou Fei locks his hand to hers. He promises not to run but Zhou Fei refuses to unlock it even when he wants to try out a new outfit at a shop. They end up falling on top of each other.

Li Yan and Yang Jin enters the assembly without an invitation. The attendees with invitations and without are split up. Zhou Fei and Xie Yun follow the group without invitations as she wants to look for Li Yan. Chen Zi Chen insists on going to the assembly against Mr. Bai’s advice. Chu Tian Yu thinks Chen Zi Chen can be a hostage to ensure Huo Lian Tao hands over the seal.

Ying He Cong is also at the assembly but gets into trouble with Ding Kui’s minions. Yang Jin and Li Yan save him. But his pet snake is missing.

Episode 30

Li Yan finds Ying He Cong’s snake and keeps it. Li Sheng and Chu Chu find Li Yan. They go on to the assembly and meet Zhou Fei and Xie Yun there. Huo Lian Tao claims that the assembly is to select a master of the martial arts world to unite all the different sects to counter the Di Sha Sect. He offers to give up the family’s ripple-shaped seal to the new master. This relates to The Color of Ocean and Heaven which Huo Lian Tao claims contains relics of the different sects and they need to stop the Di Sha Sect from getting their hands on the treasure.

Chu Tian Yu has captured Chen Zi Chen to be used as a hostage to get the seal. Huo Lian Tao’s plan is to kill everyone during the assembly. He also wants the Di Sha Sect to shift their target away from him by announcing that he will give up the seal. Chu Tian Yu knows Huo Lian Tao cannot afford to have a dead prince in his mansion and would be forced to give the seal to him.

Madam Ni Chang advises the attendees that not to get killed over some so-called treasure. Li Sheng also insists that Fortress 48 has no knowledge of the treasure. Then, the snake escapes from Li Yan’s pouch. She chases after it with Yang Jin following her. They discover that the area has been rigged with kerosenes. Li Yan asks Yang Jin to watch the place while she runs back to tell Li Sheng.

Fight For The Seal

Chu Tian Yu appears at the assembly. He shows off Chen Zi Chen’s badge and threatens Hou Lian Tao to hand over the seal. Ying He Cong is agitated when he sees Chu Tian Yu who is his enemy. Chu Tian Yu also used to be Xie Yun’s father’s subordinate. He was a traitor who killed his father during the rebellion. Zhou Fei wants to help him to exact revenge after hearing his story. They save Chen Zi Chen and return to the assembly.

Huo Lian Tao is about to hand over the seal to Chu Tian Yu when Mu Xiao Qiao appears and snatches it away. He accuses Huo Lian Tao of abandoning or even poisoning his brother which the latter denies. Commotion arises when Li Yan shouts that the place could get burned down. Mu Xiao Qiao escapes with the seal after a brief fight with Chu Tian Yu. Zhou Fei drops the key into the pool while trying to open up the lock that binds her to Xie Yun.

Li Sheng asks Yang Jin to lead Chu Chu and Li Yan to safety while he goes back to lead the rest of the attendees out of the maze formation that Huo Lian Tao has trapped them in. However, Ding Kui is causing problems and sees Li Sheng as enemy because of the treasure.

Episode 31

Madam Ni Chang tells Li Sheng to lead the rest to safety while she will handle Ding Kui who subsequently escapes. Yang Jin, Chu Chu, and Li Yan are waiting at the entrance. Yin Pei appears in a mask and Chu Chu finds him familiar. He asks for Ding Kui’s whereabouts.

Mu Xiao Qiao is waiting for Huo Lian Tao as the latter tries to escape. Chu Tian Yu appears and kills Huo Lian Tao. He then asks Mu Xiao Qiao to hand over the seal. The latter refuses. He defeats Mu Xiao Qiao and grabs the seal before leaving. Chu Tian Yu then bumps into Zhou Fei and Xie Yun who are leading Chen Zi Chen out. Zhu Chen has also retrieved the key for the lock and brings it to them. But Zhou Fei and Xie Yun have successfully open it by themselves. Both Chen Zi Chen and Zhu Chen are interested in Zhou Fei but are told to leave.

Killing Chu Tian Yu

Chu Tian Yu knows Xie Yun’s identity. Zhou Fei starts fighting with him but Chu Tian Yu is too powerful. Xie Yun uses his powers to injure him and suffers from the effects of the Bone Chilling poison. Ying He Cong appears with a poisonous mist to kill a weakened Chu Tian Yu and the seal falls to the ground. He is from Big Medicine Valley and Chu Tian Yu was involved in the burning down of the sect together with Hu Tian Ying who used to be their disciple but defected to the Di Sha Sect.

Ying He Cong gives Zhou Fei an antidote to the poisoned mist before leaving but she didn’t consume it. Zhou Fei tries to carry the dying Xie Yun out but collapses halfway together with him. Yin Pei kills Ding Kui and leaves without a word. Li Sheng brings Madam Ni Chang out and the whole group return to the inn. They assume Zhou Fei has left to chase after the enemies.

When Zhou Fei awakens, she is on a boat with a monk. She thought Xie Yun has died and is feeling lost. But the monk has saved Xie Yun and temporarily suppressed his poison. There is still no permanent cure. The monk is Abbot Tong Ming who is Xie Yun’s master. He has been looking for Xie Yun after hearing someone has used the Cloud Impelling Palm. The abbot took in Xie Yun when he was a young boy after the collapse of his royal family. He didn’t try to make Xie Yun a monk as he knows Xie Yun has a lot of burdens.

Episode 32

Xie Yun wanted to be carefree when he was young. But a eunuch committed suicide when he learned Xie Yun wanted to be a monk because he felt responsible for failing the late Emperor. Xie Yun changed then. He was then shot with a poisoned arrow during a battle. His master’s disciple brother sacrificed his life to save him. Abbot Tong Ming takes Zhou Fei to a mountainside and tells her to look for the rare Fire Lotus flower which is needed to preserve Xie Yun’s life. Zhou Fei also asks the abbot to keep the seal on her behalf for the time being.

Yin Pei appears before Chu Chu. He doesn’t want to harm her as she had been kind to him before. But she is afraid as she detects that he has changed. Yin Pei is now one of the guardians of Si Xiang Mountain. Li Sheng appears to protect Chu Chu but is no match for Yin Pei. Chu Chu pleads with Yin Pei not to harm Li Sheng. Yin Pei relents but mocks his poor martial arts skills. He leaves Li Sheng Reverend Chong Xiao’s whisk since the reverend had identified Li Sheng as his successor. Li Sheng is worried about the reverend.

Book Of Almighty Medicine

Li Yan and Yang Jin are looking for Zhou Fei. They find an unconscious Ying He Cong instead who has been sent flying off the boat by Abbot Tong Ming earlier after being caught fiddling with Xie Yun’s body. They bring him back to the inn. When he awakens, the tells them that Zhou Fei is fine and Chu Tian Yu is dead. They assume that she has killed him. Li Sheng is not happy and left. Chu Chu is worried about him and thinks he might have gone to look for Reverend Chong Xiao. Yin Pei is informed that Chu Chu has left the inn alone.

Hu Tian Ying and Shen Tian Shu are lovers. She is the one who uses the Bone Chilling poison as a weapon. She knows Zhou Fei will be looking for the Fire Lotus, which blooms once a decade, to treat Xie Yun. They send Lu Tian Kuang to stop her. They are looking for The Color of Ocean and Heaven as it is rumored to contain the Book of Almighty Medicine which they need to cure Hu Tian Ying’s old injury. Shen Tian Shu had used Chu Tian Yu as a bait to lure the people who know about the treasure out. Chu Tian Yu had secretly met Liu You Liang. So, Tong Tian Yang is now after Liu You Liang who dashes into an inn. Li Yan notices that he is bleeding and comes to his defense.

Episode 33

Yang Jin and Ying He Cong help Li Yan and Liu You Liang to escape. They reach an abandoned temple and meet some kids there. Liu You Liang reveals his identity after learning that Li Yan is Li Zheng’s granddaughter. He used to be Governor Huang Shen Bian’s bodyguard. Then, he was sent to a tomb to guard a treasure which he has no idea what it contains. He has been guarding it for 20 years. Liu You Liang used to communicate with Reverend Cong Xiao via letters but has not heard from him. Thus, he left his post. When he finds out about Huo Lian Tao’s assembly, he bumps into Chu Tian Yu there. Ever since then, he has been hunted by the Di Sha Sect.

Liu You Liang takes out a map and asks Li Yan to memorize it and the poem. When Tong Tian Yang arrives with his men, he throws the map at him and it alights. The map is burned. Liu You Liang lunges at the enemies and implores Li Yan and the rest to run. Tong Tian Yang kills him while the rest escape.

Keys To The Treasure

Zhou Fei is being followed by Lu Tian Kuang. She has to climb all the way up a snowy mountain to reach the Fire Lotus. When she reaches the top, she meets Mu Xiao Qiao who wants back the seal which belongs to the Huo family. Lu Tian Kuang also appears and demands for the seal. A fight results but a snowstorm causes an avalanche.

With Abbot Tong Ming’s concoction, they could keep Xie Yun alive for a month. Xie Yun is dreaming of Zhou Fei being in danger at the snowy mountain. Zhou Fei is dreaming of the same and awakens to find Mu Xiao Qiao beside her in a cave. She has saved Mu Xiao Qiao earlier who is surprised that she didn’t want her dead.

Li Sheng enters the forbidden forest of the Qi Sect. Feng Wu Yan follows him but loses the tail and has to exit. Shen Tian Shu is angry with Tong Tian Yang as the map is burned. All he can remember is a bracelet, sword, locket, seal, and whisk are drawn on the map with a poem.

Episode 34

Chu Chu is looking for Li Sheng and bumps into Feng Wu Yan who brings her to the forbidden forest entrance. She enters the forest. Yin Pei finds out about it and disguises himself as a woodcutter to show Chu Chu the way to find Li Sheng. Yin Pei tells himself that Chu Chu will regret her decision to be with Li Sheng one day.

Mu Xiao Qiao wants back the seal because he doesn’t trust anyone else to have the Huo family treasure. He claims that he is not interested in The Color of Ocean and Heaven although Zhou Fei points out that his martial arts skills are on the decline. Lu Tian Kuang is waiting for Zhou Fei to reappear to get the Fire Lotus.

Yin Pei meets Feng Wu Yan at the entrance of the forbidden forest. He knows what Feng Wu Yan wants and leads him to Li Sheng. Feng Wu Yan demands for the whisk and tells him that Yin Pei had killed Reverend Chong Xiao. He takes Chu Chu hostage. Li Sheng gives him the whisk. They fight and Feng Wu Yan is about to kill Li Sheng. Li Sheng threatens to kill himself and with it the teachings of the Qi Sect will be lost. Feng Wu Yan lets him go and regrets that he has been irresponsible when he was young.

Zhou Fei and Mu Xiao Qiao make a deal to trick Lu Tian Kuang. Mu Xiao Qiao helps Zhou Fei to get the Fire Lotus while she will give back the seal to him when they meet again. Before they part, she advises Mu Xiao Qiao not to practice his martial arts moves as it is destroying his health.

Reverend Chong Xiao’s Whisk

The teacher for those kids at the abandoned temple comes by to visit Li Yan. He is Teacher Lin who happens to be one of Xie Yun’s master’s disciple brother. Li Yan tries to tell him about the map and poem. Teacher Lin promises to inform Xie Yun.

Feng Wu Yan and Li Sheng are discussing about the formulas for the Qi Sect’s trigram formations. He throws the whisk onto the table as he gets engrossed over the formulas. Li Sheng notices that the edge of the handle cracks open and a ripple-shaped object is seen inside. He quietly closes it back. Just then, Gu Tian Xian appears. He has captured Chu Chu as she was leaving the forest. Gu Tian Xian demands for the whisk and fights with Feng Wu Yan. When the whisk falls to the floor, Chu Chu quickly reaches for it. Gu Tian Xian hits her. Li Sheng kicks him off and escapes with Chu Chu.

As Chu Chu is injured, Li Sheng needs to go to Hengyang to look for Madam Ni Chang to treat her. Zhu Chen offers them his carriage. Zhou Fei arrives at Penglai Island with the Fire Lotus. She is drained. Zhou Fei will need the Flaming Sage herb next which is found in Cloud Ravine. She also meets Teacher Lin who has returned to Penglai Island and finds out that he has met Li Yan.

Yu Wen Zhi wants Hu Tian Ying to come out of retirement as he is not happy that the Di Sha Sect has failed to get the treasure. He threatens to withdraw his support towards the sect. Shen Tian Shu is still recovering from his injuries from the battle at Fortress 48.

Episode 35

Hu Tian Ying was a Big Medicine Valley disciple but was expelled by the leader who found her to be evil. She met Shen Tian Shu who was then leader of the Anping army. Hu Tian Ying knows Zhou Fei will be going to Cloud Ravine and plans to kill her there. She also has a mission for Lu Tian Kuang who is loyal to her.

Abbot Tong Ming tells Zhou Fei to ask Lord Gan Tang if she wants to know more about The Color of Ocean and Heaven. Li Yan receives a letter from Zhou Fei.

Xie Yun dreams of his past experiences of how he got involved in writing stories and lyrics and getting acquainted with beggars. He then awakens from his coma but is still weak.

Zhou Fei visits her father. She learns that palace treasures were hidden near Big Medicine Valley just before the rebellion. Governor Huang Shen Bian was in charge together with a few guardians. After he died, the secret was leaked out which caused Yin Wen Lan to be killed and Big Medicine Valley destroyed. Shen Tian Shu is aware of the secret because he was heading the Anping army. However, Lord Gan Tang doesn’t know what the treasures are.

Chen Zi Chen drops by Lord Gan Tang’s camp. Zhou Fei isn’t keen on seeing him. He informs Lord Gan Tang of his interest in Zhou Fei but is advised to stay away from her for his own safety. Madam Ni Chang tells Li Sheng that Chu Chu should recover as the body armor had protected her.

Yang Jin brings Li Yan and Ying He Cong to Cloud Ravine but the sect’s elder wants them detained. Li Yan and Ying He Cong escape and render 2 guards unconscious with poisonous fumes.

Episode 36

Li Yan and Ying He Cong take 2 sachets from the unconscious guards to protect them from the poisonous fog in the forbidden area. They want to enter it to look for the Flaming Sage herb. Yang Jin rushes to look for Li Yan and Ying He Cong when a guard reports that they want to enter the forbidden forest. The 3 of them decide to stick together despite having only 2 sachets to protect them. They find the herb and Li Yan keeps it.

Hu Tian Ying arrives at Cloud Ravine and threatens the elder to reveal if anyone has enquired about Flaming Sage. She learns Yang Jin has brought 2 friends back.

Yin Pei is at the inn and demands from Zhu Ying news on Chu Chu. He also bullies Zhu Chen. Zhou Fei arrives and fights Yin Pei off. Zhu Chen informs Zhou Fei that Li Sheng and Chu Chu are with Madam Ni Chang. The innkeeper also tells Zhou Fei that Li Yan has gone to Cloud Ravine with Yang Jin and Ying He Cong. Zhou Fei sends a message to Xie Yun that she will return the seal to Mu Xiao Qiao.

Chu Chu awakens to find Li Sheng beside her. Li Sheng is gathering people to take on Yin Pei over Reverend Chong Xiao’s death. Madam Ni Chang is willing to help to protect Yin Wen Lan’s reputation.

Hu Tian Ying Is Defeated

Ying He Cong knows Hu Tian Ying has arrived at Cloud Ravine through the poison that she used. Yang Jin decides to check things out and finds that his sect members have been detained and poisoned. He distracts Hu Tian Ying while Ying He Cong and Li Yan look for the antidote. They have to hide in the cabinet when she returns. Ying He Cong recalls the time when he was also hiding in a cabinet and witnessed Hu Tian Ying killing his master for information on the treasure. He was still a boy then. Before Hu Tian Ying could find them, Yang Jin fights with her.

Ying He Cong gives Li Yan the antidote for the sect members and a powder to blind Hu Tian Ying’s soldiers. Then, he helps Yang Jin and uses a magnet to neutralize her needles weapon. Hu Tian Ying has to retreat with her soldiers blinded and the Cloud Ravine disciples freed. Ying He Cong is emotional that he has stood up to Hu Tian Ying. He decides to remain in Cloud Ravine to develop his healing skills.

Shen Tian Shu is not happy to hear about Hu Tian Ying’s failure. He is also informed that Zhou Fei is meeting Mu Xiao Qiao. Zhou Fei returns the seal to Mu Xiao Qiao as promised. Mu Xiao Qiao tells her that he will be looking for Hu Tian Ying next to investigate the latter’s possible involvement in the poisoning of Old Man Luo. Zhou Fei leaves for Cloud Ravine and imagines Xie Yun while drinking.

Episode 37

Zhou Fei misses Xie Yun. Li Sheng and Chu Chu find out that Di Sha Sect soldiers are heading towards Cloud Ravine. Li Yan and Yang Jin are on their way back to Lingling. They are being spied upon and bump into Li Sheng and Chu Chu while hurrying back. Li Yan passes the herb to Li Sheng.

Tong Tian Yang catches up with them. Li Sheng tells Chu Chu and Li Yan to run ahead. Tong Tian Yang demands for the Flaming Sage but Li Sheng releases a flare instead. A fight ensues. Zhou Fei arrives to join the fight. Li Sheng gives Zhou Fei the herb before leaving to look for Chu Chu and Li Yan. Tong Tian Yang wants Zhou Fei to hand over the seal. A brief fight ensues before he is told that the seal is now with Mu Xiao Qiao. He ends the confrontation and leaves. Chu Chu and Li Yan manage to escape from the soldiers before reuniting with Li Sheng and Yang Jin.

Tong Tian Yang then bumps into Zhu Chen’s entourage and massacres them. Zhu Chen survives the massacre. Yin Pei asks him to join his group to exact revenge. He gives Zhu Chen the Phoenix Pill to make him stronger.

Zhou Fei arrives at Penglai Island with the herb. Xie Yun confesses that he misses her. He gives her a bracelet that he has made. Zhou Fei goes through the paintings that he had drawn when he thought of her. She vows never to give up on him. Chen Jun Fu gives Zhou Fei a body armor.

Li Sheng manages to find someone who is also keen to kill Yin Pei. That man is Lord Liu. Xie Yun awakens from a slumber and is fed medicine.

Episode 38

The concoctions could only prolong Xie Yun’s life temporarily. He tells his master that he wants to leave the island. He also tells Chen Jun Fu about the sword that he wants to make for Zhou Fei and its name. Xie Yun recalls the times he met General Wen Yu and General Wang Lin. He told General Wen Yu that wars will bring people hardship and it matters not to them who sits on the throne.

When he heard that General Wang Lin had been cornered, he tried to persuade him to leave. The general refused. He brought Xie Yun to the graves of the fallen soldiers. General Wang Lin had no regrets. He promised Xie Yun’s father to defend the state. Before he went into his last battle, he gave Xie Yun the Anping army token to be handed to Lord Gan Tang. He also specifically told Xie Yun not to alert Li Jin Rong and mention his name to her. But fate has it differently.

Abbot Tong Ming tells Xie Yun that he will only have about a year to live. Zhou Fei overhears the conversation. Xie Yun accepts his fate. He wants to bring Zhou Fei to his hometown in Jiangkang.

Li Sheng is going to trap Yin Pei at Liu Manor. He lies to Li Yan that he is attending a banquet there. Li Jin Rong asks him to be careful. Chu Chu is compiling martial arts manuals and is set to meet Lord Liu. She is happy to hear from Li Yan that Li Sheng is also going to Liu Manor.

Zhou Fei and Xie Yun spend time together in Jiangkang. He is contented that he can spend a year with her even if he wouldn’t be able to marry her.

Episode 39

Zhou Fei impulsively kisses Xie Yun. He asks Zhou Fei about her plans after he dies. She says that she has none. Perhaps she will return to Fortress 48 and be a fighter for the sect. Xie Yun asks her to marry a short-lived husband. She cries but didn’t give him a direct answer. Xie Yun changes the mood and cheers her up.

Li Sheng and Lord Liu discuss with the other sects on eliminating Yin Pei due to his evil deeds. Yang Jin and Zhou Fei receive a note from Li Sheng about his plan. During the journey to Liu Manor, Xie Yun tells Zhou Fei that he would like to go to Xiang River again as his father had drowned there while suppressing a rebellion.

Chu Chu arrives at Liu Manor and meets Li Sheng there. A birthday banquet has been arranged with other sects’ leaders in attendance to lure Yin Pei out. A few masked men arrive. A fight breaks out but they can’t identify which one is Yin Pei. They are losing as the masked men have consumed the Phoenix Pills. Li Sheng uses the Qi Sect trigram formation to defeat them after luring them to a stone yard. Madam Ni Chang helps to subdue the rest of the enemies.

Zhu Chen Saves Zhou Fei

Zhou Fei arrives and ends up fighting with Yin Pei. Both are injured but Yin Pei’s hands are already shaking. He signals for his men to surround Zhou Fei while he escapes. Zhu Chen is part of the group but sacrifices his life to protect Zhou Fei from getting killed.

All the sects leaders are grateful to Li Sheng and encourage him to be the leader to unite the different sects. But he still feels inadequate. Madam Ni Chang advises him not to look down on himself. Zhou Fei reminds him to be careful of the trouble he may attract. Madam Ni Chang decides to pass Yin Wen Lan’s martial arts manual to Chu Chu since she is a compiler. She has been keeping it on his behalf but now thinks Chu Chu is the best person to have it.

Episode 40

Yin Pei is being hunted by the Di Sha Sect. Chu Chu memorizes Yin Wen Lan’s manual and then burns it as an offering as it is only meant for his descendants while Yin Pei has turned evil. Yin Pei notices Chu Chu and takes her hostage. Li Sheng finds her missing and looks for her.

Mu Xiao Qiao gives Zhou Fei the seal as he thinks Zhou Fei can be trusted to keep it. He informs her that she has killed Hu Tian Ying but is poisoned in the process. He is happy that he has got her revenge. However, Mu Xiao Qiao didn’t know that the person he killed is merely Hu Tian Ying’s double. Mu Xiao Qiao also tells Zhou Fei that the Phoenix Pill’s special powers could cure Xie Yun.

Hu Tian Ying is planning to get all the tokens to the treasure during Li Jin Rong’s birthday celebration as all of them will appear at Fortress 48 then. She knows Chen Zi Chen is looking for a special birthday gift for Li Jin Rong to get into her good books. She schemes to take advantage of the prince.

Yin Pei’s Background

Li Sheng gets Zhou Fei to help to look for Chu Chu. Yin Pei has brought Chu Chu to the abandoned Yin Manor. She releases a flare when he fell asleep. Li Sheng finds her but Yin Pei re-captures them. Yin Pei forces Chu Chu to write down the Mountain Sword manual that she has memorized. She mixes up the sequence but he is suspicious.

Tong Tian Yang arrives and fights with Yin Pei. Chu Chu tricks him with the Mountain Sword manual to prevent him from killing Yin Pei. Tong Tian Yang locks them up while he tries out the moves. It makes him weak instead. Yin Pei tricks him with a Phoenix Pill and vows in front of his father’s memorial tablet that he will give him an enemy as offering.

Tong Tian Yang is tied up. Li Sheng leaves Yin Pei and Chu Chu alone to exact their revenge over their families’ deaths. But Tong Tian Yang laughs that the Yin family has no descendants because Yin Pei is an orphan who was given to Yin Wen Lan. Yin Pei’s father was Chief Chang Huan of the Zhongyuan Sect. He was a weak baby who was fed all sorts of expensive drugs to survive that his flesh was deemed valuable. Tong Tian Yang’s robber friend destroyed the Zhongyuan Sect to get the baby. Li Zheng and Madam Ni Chang saved the baby and gave him to Yin Wen Lan. Madam Ni Chang now feels responsible for saving a baby who is now an evil man.

Yin Pei’s Sacrifice

Yin Pei kicks Tong Tian Yang in anger and forces Chu Chu to Madam Ni Chang’s residence. Li Sheng is worried and turns back to see Yin Pei taking Chu Chu away. Tong Tian Yang awakens and feels stronger after consuming the Phoenix Pill. He wants to go after Yin Pei for the Mountain Sword. Xie Yun gives Zhou Fei a sword as a gift. She hugs him.

Li Sheng consults Zhou Fei and Xie Yun. They decide to head to Madam Ni Chang’s residence. Chu Chu asks Madam Ni Chang about Yin Pei’s background as Yin Pei listens in. Madam Ni Chang confirms Tong Tian Yang’s story. Yin Wen Lan didn’t mind that Yin Pei was a weak baby. He’d rather Yin Pei study hard and become an official to help the people. Madam Ni Chang is disappointed that Yin Pei has let them down. Yin Pei breaks into the room. Madam Ni Chang tells him that the Mountain Sword moves can only be passed down to Yin descendants because they have a special pulse which is needed to practice it.

Tong Tian Yang arrives and demands for more Phoenix Pills from Yin Pei. Zhou Fei and Li Sheng arrive to fight with Tong Tian Yang. They learn that he has consumed the last Phoenix Pill. They fight with him but he is now too strong. Yin Pei sacrifices himself in the end to allow Zhou Fei and Li Sheng to kill Tong Tian Yang.

Episode 41

As Yin Pei lays dying, Zhou Fei reassures him that he is Yin Wen Lan’s son and sole heir. They bury him. Madam Ni Chang gives the Mountain Sword to Zhou Fei for safekeeping. The tokens have caused misery and deaths. Zhou Fei, Li Sheng, Xie Yun, and Chu Chu decide to return to Fortress 48 to let Li Jin Rong handle the matter.

Yang Jin keeps asking the Fortress 48 guards for challenges until they are afraid of him. He ends up having to guard the entrance post each time he issues a challenge and wins. Zhou Fei and her group arrive back at the fortress. Li Jin Rong’s birthday is coming up. She is suffering from an old injury relapse but asks her assistant, A Dan, to keep it a secret.

Li Jin Rong is satisfied with Zhou Fei’s and Li Sheng’s achievements. They leave all the tokens with her. She recalls the bracelet that her father had put on her. But he had never told her its significance as he didn’t want it to be a burden for the next generation. Now, Li Jin Rong is also thinking she shouldn’t leave the problem to the youngsters. She tells A Dan that she wants to assassinate Shen Tian Shu as that is the only way to avoid being a constant target of the Di Sha Sect.

The Past

Zhou Fei and Xie Yun are discussing about leaving the fortress and traveling after her mother’s birthday. She tells her mother that she wants to appreciate every moment with Xie Yun and will have no regrets. Her mother accepts her decision. Li Jin Rong also delegates the fortress defense responsibility to Li Sheng. She asks him to reject outsiders from attending her birthday celebration.

Yu Wen Zhi wants Shen Tian Shu to kill Lord Gan Tang when he leaves his camp to celebrate Li Jin Rong’s birthday. Once Lord Gan Tang is dead, the army of the former dynasty will die with him. Shen Tian Shu rejects his request. He recalls thinking Li Zheng was stupid to save Duan Jiu Niang and caused himself to be poisoned. But Li Zheng told him that there will be new masters to replace the old.

Li Jin Rong is writing a message. She recalls the past. Li Zheng knew the Di Sha Sect will come after Fortress 48 since he was weakened from the poison. He sent both his children out to deliver a letter to Lord Gan Tang. Li Jin Rong was suspicious and read the letter while on the way. When she knew what was happening, she pleaded with General Wang Lin to help Fortress 48 but was rejected. Lord Gan Tang helped her instead. By the time they defeated the enemies, Li Zheng was dying. He passed the bracelet, a pouch for Duan Jiu Niang, and the fortress leadership to Li Jin Rong before he died.

Episode 42

Li Jin Rong doesn’t want to put the youngsters’ lives in danger should the Di Sha Sect attacks again. Lord Gan Tang stole General Wang Lin’s badge to get the troops out to help Fortress 48 then. He punished himself thereafter by incapacitating his own martial arts skills and leaving the Anping army.

Lord Gan Tang receives a note that Zhou Fei is back. Yu Wen Zhi’s soldiers ambush him on the way to the fortress but fails. Lord Gan Tang has anticipated it. Yu Wen Zhi has a backup plan through Hu Tian Ying. She poisons Chen Zi Chen and then appears as a healer to help him recover. She diagnoses him as being lovesick and encourages him to propose to Zhou Fei.

Yu Wen Zhi tries to entice Shen Tian Shu to go to the fortress to kill Li Jin Rong. He brings up Hu Tian Ying’s safety but Shen Tian Shu isn’t moved. Instead, he tells Yu Wen Zhi that they can cooperate to get the treasure but once they have obtained it, Yu Wen Zhi is not allowed to touch it.

Hu Tian Ying enters Fortress 48 as part of Chen Zi Chen’s entourage. Li Jin Rong tells him that she would leave the betrothal decision to her daughter. Zhou Fei rejects him but tries to make Xie Yun jealous in the process. Xie Yun talks to Chen Zi Chen privately that he wants to marry Zhou Fei but is living on borrowed time. Zhou Fei overhears their conversation. She agrees to be with him till death do they part.

Li Yan leaves the fortress to buy Zhou Fei’s favorite wine as a favor for Xie Yun. Li Sheng is busy with work but is happy to see Chu Chu dropping by.

Episode 43

Li Sheng tells Chu Chu that he finds Li Jin Rong acting weird. A Dan reports to Li Jin Rong that Yu Wen Zhi has been seen entering Di Sha Manor. Li Jin Rong is worried that they may attack the fortress soon. She isn’t feeling well and has a nightmare. An enemy spy has been caught and she learns that Yu Wen Zhi is after Lord Gan Tang. She knows the enemies must have found out about the tokens and are using her husband to threaten her. However, Yu Wen Zhi’s soldiers have yet to be able to capture him and have seeked Shen Tian Shu’s assistance which makes Yu Wen Zhi livid.

Chu Chu finds out that Li Jin Rong is unwell when she visits her and is told to keep it a secret. Hu Tian Ying advises Chen Zi Chen to leave the fortress soon to recuperate.

Xie Yun suggests to Li Jin Rong to destroy the tokens as they have caused too many deaths and he doesn’t want them to be a burden to Zhou Fei. Furthermore, the treasure is meaningless to him as he is a dying man. However, Li Jin Rong tells him that she has no right to destroy them when the previous generation had sacrificed their lives to protect them. Moreover, it is Zhou Fei’s decision how she wants to lead her life. Li Jin Rong also finds out about the Soul Searching Needle that Xie Yun has used. She asks for the needles and he gave them to her.

Hu Tian Ying’s Plan

Yu Wen Zhi wants his soldiers to keep the pressure on Lord Gan Tang to delay his return to the fortress so that Hu Tian Ying can carry out her plan smoothly. Hu Tian Ying’s subordinate renders a worker unconscious and steals an item from the fortress hall. Li Jin Rong gives the fortress seal to Li Sheng who feels surprised. Mr. Bai informs Xie Yun that Chen Zi Chen will be leaving that night as he is unwell. His foster brother wrote him a letter to wish him and Zhou Fei happiness.

Xie Yun and Zhou Fei are in the kitchen. He tells her that he has given the Soul Searching Needles to her mother. Later, she overhears Chu Chu asking the doctor to prepare medicine for her mother. Zhou Fei bumps into Li Sheng and they realize what Li Jin Rong is up to. They try to stop Li Jin Rong from going to Di Sha Manor. Li Jin Rong challenges them to stop her. Zhou Fei defeats her mother to force her to stay.

The theft is discovered. Li Jin Rong sends A Dan away to investigate. Hu Tian Ying then enters her room and uses a candle to poison her during a fight. Li Jin Rong is weakened and Hu Tian Ying grabs the tokens. Chu Chu sees Hu Tian Ying escaping from the room and releases a flare. Zhou Fei rushes to her mother’s room and is told she has been poisoned.

Episode 44

Li Jin Rong has fallen into a coma. From the clues left behind, Zhou Fei and Li Sheng could deduce that the culprit must be Hu Tian Ying. They find Lin Jin Rong’s letter for Zhou Fei in which she mentioned where the tokens are kept. The tokens are now missing. They split up to look for Hu Tian Ying who kills several patrol guards to escape.

Chen Zi Chen are leaving with his entourage. They are stopped at the gate when the stolen item is found in the bag of one of their soldiers. Xie Yun tries to be a mediator to convince them to let the prince go. During the altercation, Li Sheng appears and believes Chen Zi Chen has been tricked by Hu Tian Ying to enter Fortress 48 after some investigation. The enemy is trying to create a feud between Fortress 48 and the government for their own benefit which points to a sophisticated plan.

Xie Yun chases after Zhou Fei who has gone to look for Hu Tian Ying. Zhou Fei finds her but gets poisoned during a fight which allows Hu Tian Ying to escape. Xie Yun saves her by sucking out the poison from her bloodstream. However, she is still needs time to recover. Yu Wen Zhi is angry that Xie Yun keeps spoiling his plan and wants him dead. He agrees to Shen Tian Shu’s condition about the treasure in return for his help to kill Xie Yun.

Li Yan’s Mistake

Li Sheng and Yang Jin leaves to look for Hu Tian Ying. Chen Zi Chen sends Mr. Bai to help them following their mistake. Mr. Bai has contacts with the Route Gang which can provide them with the intelligence. Shen Tian Shu is heading towards Hanshui to meet Hu Tian Ying with Gu Tian Xian and more soldiers following behind.

Li Yan is in Hanshui which is suddenly swarming with Di Sha Sect soldiers. She meets Shen Tian Shu but has no idea who he is. She thought he is a harmless old man who needs protection from the soldiers. When Shen Tian Shu learns who she is, he plays along to let her lead him to the Fortress 48 safe house. Li Yan realizes her mistake then as the safe house is surrounded by his soldiers. Hu Tian Ying tells Shen Tian Shu that they should leave the area quickly but he wants to stay for some answers.

Zhou Fei recovers and heads to Hanshui with Xie Yun. Mr. Bai reports to Li Sheng that Yu Wen Zhi and Shen Tian Shu are not on good terms. Li Sheng thinks it is good for the 2 camps to fight it out over the tokens as they can then take advantage of the situation.

Episode 45

Li Sheng plans to make use of the badge confiscated from Yu Wen Zhi’s spy that they have captured to lure Hu Tian Ying out and drive a wedge between her and Shen Tian Shu. Madam Ni Chang and Chief Xu of the Route Gang capture Gu Tian Xian who is on the way to Hanshui. They are asked by Chu Chu and Zhou Fei to do so.

Li Sheng meets up with Zhou Fei and Xie Yun who suggests that they can deceive the enemy that the Anping army is on the way if necessary. Shen Tian Shu forces Li Yan to write down the poem on the map that she has memorized. The poem is the clue to the location of the treasure. Hu Tian Ying is not happy when Shen Tian Shu starts asking her for the tokens as she thinks that he doesn’t trust her.

Zhou Fei and Xie Yun find Li Yan being held hostage by Shen Tian Shu. He tells Shen Tian Shu that he will trade places with Li Yan who is then released. Xie Yun becomes the hostage instead while Shen Tian Shu waits for news that Gu Tian Xian has been let go. Shen Tian Shu was saved by Xie Yun’s father when his family was killed and brought into the Anping army. He was angry with Lord Gan Tang for reprimanding him for killing captives after winning hard-fought wars. He cut off his hand and left the army when Lord Gan Tang wanted him to take responsibility.

Capturing Hu Tian Ying

Hu Tian Ying is lured out into meeting Yu Wen Zhi. Before she leaves, she asks her subordinate to pass a message to Shen Tian Shu once he is anxious about her absence. Hu Tian Ying arrives to see Yang Jin instead. A fight ensues but she manages to escape. Shen Tian Shu is informed that Hu Tian Ying has left to meet Yu Wen Zhi. He gets angry with Xie Yun who seems to have planned it all and tries to kill him. Zhou Fei appears. They tell Shen Tian Shu that Yu Wen Zhi would love to see them going at each other’s throat when Yu Wen Zhi has got the tokens with Hu Tian Ying’s cooperation. Shen Tian Shu lets Xie Yun go.

Shen Tian Shu orders his men to stop the Anping army. He receives Hu Tian Ying’s message from her subordinate. It is a clue to the location of the tokens. He retrieves them. Yang Jin reports to Li Sheng that Hu Tian Ying has escaped. Zhou Fei and Xie Yun find her running away and defeat her. But the tokens are not with her. She is confident that Shen Tian Shu will come and save her as he has wanted the treasure for the Book of Almighty Medicine to cure her injuries. Hu Tian Ying tells them that the book has cures for every poison including Xie Yun’s. She is shocked when Li Sheng arrives and informs them that Shen Tian Shu has left. Then, they are told Lord Gan Tang is back.

Episode 46

Zhou Fei rushes back to the fortress to see her father. Li Sheng mocks Hu Tian Ying that she has become Shen Tian Shu’s pawn that can be sacrificed. She dies after Li Sheng prevents her from accessing her medicine for what she did to his grandfather and aunt.

Shen Tian Shu asks Gu Tian Xian to find the location of the treasure. Lu Tian Kuang is suspicious over Hu Tian Ying’s death. But Shen Tian Shu tells him that her killer is Zhou Fei. He now has all the tokens and recalls a manual for forging powerful weapons which he believes will make him unstoppable. A blacksmith’s master had given the manual to the Emperor back then.

Lord Gan Tang tells Zhou Fei that he will bring Li Jin Rong to get treatment from Abbot Tong Ming. He also urges Xie Yun to shoulder his responsibility as the treasure owner. He informs him that he has given command of the Anping army to General Wen Yu. Xie Yun also assures Lord Gan Tang that he will protect Zhou Fei as long as he lives.

Gu Tian Xian inspects the location mentioned in the poem but couldn’t find anything. Shen Tian Shu seeks out Yu Wen Zhi who has the experts to decipher the poem. In exchange, he will help him to fulfill his wish. Gu Tian Xian and Lu Tian Kuang are at the treasure site as the experts look for an entrance. Both of them are distrustful of each other.

An elder wants to leave Fortress 48 and go back north to retire. Zhou Fei wants to look for the treasure. Li Yan tells her brother that Shen Tian Shu has mentioned that the treasure is in Big Medicine Valley. They all decide to head there.

Episode 47

The experts manage to find the entrance. Gu Tian Xian and Lu Tian Kuang enter into Big Medicine Valley with its villagers. Shen Tian Shu is informed and gets ready to depart to the valley.

Chen Zi Chen’s soldiers intercept Xie Yun on the way to Big Medicine Valley. The prince urgently seeks Xie Yun’s advice as enemy soldiers have amassed at the border. Xie Yun leaves Zhou Fei to follow Chen Zi Chen’s soldiers. He drops by to see General Wen Yu first whose camp is nearby. Xie Yun tells General Wen Yu that dynasties come and go and the people must always come first. They also learn that Yu Wen Zhi is nearby which raises Xie Yun’s suspicion.

Abbot Tong Ming offers to look after Li Jin Rong as Lord Gan Tang seems worried about the youngsters. Zhou Fei and her group follow a young boy to enter Big Medicine Valley. She leaves a sign for Xie Yun. Gu Tian Xian and Lu Tian Kuang have locked up the villagers and threatened them to reveal the location of the treasure.

Li Sheng thinks they are outnumbered and Chu Chu has to go and get help from General Wen Yu. Zhou Fei challenges Lu Tian Kuang and Gu Tian Xian to a duel to allow Li Sheng and Yang Jin to rescue the men while Li Yan will save the women. They manage to release the villagers. They also find Ying He Cong among the prisoners.

A misunderstanding occurs between Lu Tian Kuang and Gu Tian Xian during the duel with Zhou Fei. The 2 men end up fighting between themselves. Xie Yun arrives at the village and sneaks around. Li Yan is being surrounded by enemy soldiers. Chu Chu manages to see General Wen Yu to get help.

Episode 48

Li Sheng and Yang Jin help to free more villagers. Ying He Cong saves Li Yan from the enemy soldiers. Xie Yun burns down the barn with all the provisions. Zhou Fei tells Lu Tian Kuang that Shen Tian Shu has sacrificed Hu Tian Ying to get the tokens. She then defeats Gu Tian Xian and holds him hostage. Lu Tian Kuang fires arrows to kill his own sect member before attacking Zhou Fei and her group. Chu Chu arrives in time with General Wen Yu’s soldiers to force Lu Tian Kuang to retreat. Li Sheng is relieved to have Chu Chu back.

Shen Tian Shu arrives at Big Medicine Valley. Li Sheng notices where the treasure might be. The whole group finds a cave entrance in a forest and the mechanisms to open it. Lu Tian Kuang’s subordinate has been tailing them as instructed.

The secret cave is full of traps and doors. They get separated when they accidentally activated the mechanisms. Zhou Fei and Xie Yun end up in an icy room which was formerly occupied by Lyu Run, the author of the Book of Almighty Medicine. There is a testament that says the Phoenix Pill is the cure but there is none left. Shen Tian Shu enters the secret cave with his soldiers and leaves Lu Tian Kuang to guard the entrance which engenders distrust.

Zhou Fei finds a Qi Sect manuscript in the icy room. She tries to learn the teachings but finds her energy weakening. Li Sheng and Chu Chu reunite with Yang Jin, Li Yan, and Ying He Cong after being separated. They are then pursued by Shen Tian Shu and are cornered in a room. Li Sheng is studying the wall patterns to look for an escape.

Episode 49

Zhou Fei is trapped in an illusion as she meditates over the teachings on the manuscript. Xie Yun tries to wake her up.

Shen Tian Shu manages to break into the room where Li Sheng and his group are hiding in. The treasure is in a secret chamber. But only Li Sheng knows how to open the entrance to the chamber as it requires the Qi Sect’s secret formula. Li Sheng agrees to open it for Shen Tian Shu on the condition that he will release them and give them the Book of Almighty Medicine. Shen Tian Shu agrees and gets hold of the Book of Iron Refinement and Almighty Medicine.

Zhou Fei wakes up from her illusion and leaves the icy room with Xie Yun. Shen Tian Shu breaks his promise to Li Sheng and asks his soldiers to kill them. Zhou Fei and Xie Yun bump into him while he is leaving. A fight ensues. A mechanism has been triggered and the cave is collapsing. Zhou Fei cuts the 2 manuals into half during the fight as the ground shakes. Each one of them ends up with half of each book. Shen Tian Shu takes Xie Yun hostage as everyone rushes out of the collapsing cave in the commotion.

Book Of Almighty Medicine

Xie Yun is locked up. Li Sheng distracts the guards to allow Zhou Fei to see Xie Yun who memorizes her half of the Book of Iron Refinement. Ying He Cong needs the other half of the Book of Almighty Medicine to be able to cure Xie Yun. While out collecting herbs with Li Yan and Yang Jin, they are surrounded by Di Sha Sect soldiers. They manage to fight them off. Yang Jin tells Li Yan that he wants to be with her and hopes she will follow him to his hometown once everything is over. Ying He Cong is slightly disappointed when Li Yan agrees as he too has feelings for her.

Zhou Fei turns up to trade with Shen Tian Shu to get his half of the Book of Almighty Medicine. She burns her half of the Book of Iron Refinement that Shen Tian Shu wants because Xie Yun has memorized it. So, Shen Tian Shu forces Xie Yun to show him how to forge a weapon as per the manual in exchange for the Book of Almighty Medicine. Xie Yun does so and leaves with the book with Zhou Fei.

Ying He Cong is unsure of all antidote ingredients needed as some words in the book have been erased. Zhou Fei quietly tell him that she is willing to be the guinea pig although it may cost her her life.

Episode 50

Zhou Fei and her group return to Fortress 48. Shen Tian Shu orders his soldiers to round up the villagers and dig out the treasure. He also starts crafting his new weapons and imagines himself as being all powerful.

Xie Yun knows through Ying He Cong that Zhou Fei wants to risk her life to test out his antidote. He drugs her and drinks the concoction. By the time she awakens from a bad dream that sees him dying, Xie Yun is lying motionless beside her. Zhou Fei uses the Qi Sect teachings to try to revive him but both of them end up unconscious. When she wakes up the next morning, Xie Yun has left the bed. He is alive and well. Xie Yun addresses her as his wife and kisses her.

Ying He Cong leaves Fortress 48 to return to Big Medicine Valley. When he arrives, he finds all the villagers have been captured by the Di Sha Sect. Shen Tian Shu asks General Wen Yu to cooperate with him to rule. He has powerful weapons now while General Wen Yu controls a strong army. But the general rejects his offer. Shen Tian Shu then kills him in a fight.

Ying He Cong writes to Zhou Fei about the villagers and news about General Wen Yu’s death also reaches the fortress. Lu Tian Kuang’s investigation into Hu Tian Ying’s death reveals that she has been sacrificed by Shen Tian Shu. Xie Yun has tricked Shen Tian Shu regarding the iron refinement formula. The weapons created by his blacksmiths are sharp but easily breakable. A blacksmith figures out the real formula but is killed by Lu Tian Kuang. He then changes the formula before it is presented to Shen Tian Shu.

Episode 51

Shen Tian Shu is suspicious of Lu Tian Kuang. His subordinate reports that Lu Tian Kuang has indeed tampered with the iron refinement formula. He orders his subordinate to make Lu Tian Kuang’s weapon using the tampered formula to give him a taste of his own medicine.

Shen Tian Shu captures Chen Zi Chen while the latter is out hunting to be used as hostage. Shen Tian Shu is planning to rebel with Yu Wen Zhi. Chu Chu and Li Sheng report to a minister about Yu Wen Zhi’s plan to rebel. Yu Wen Zhi has framed Chu Chu’s father previously.

Zhou Fei, Xie Yun, Yang Jin, and Ying He Cong attack Di Sha Manor with the fortress’ disciples. Ying He Cong uses poisonous fumes to help the disciples to take down the Di Sha soldiers. Lu Tian Kuang thinks he has managed to trick Shen Tian Shu. But in the end, his hook weapon breaks while fighting with Xie Yun who then kills him to save Chen Zi Chen. Zhou Fei battles with Shen Tian Shu. She manages to pry off his steel hand and kills him after a bitter duel. The people rejoice at the good news.

Li Jin Rong recovers after Abbot Tong Ming’s treatment. She returns to Fortress 48 with Lord Gan Tang. Li Yan wants to go the south with Yang Jin. Li Sheng reluctantly agrees. Chu Chu is busy compiling martial arts manuals. Lord Gan Tang tells Xie Yun that he should have learned to let go earlier. The soldiers of Anping army have returned back to their respective hometowns as there is now peace. Yu Wen Zhi is executed for treason.

One Year Later

One year later, Ying He Cong has become a popular physician. He is then on his way to visit a famous physician with the Book of Almighty Medicine. Chu Chu is getting much appreciation for compiling all the martial arts manuals of the different sects. Zhou Fei and Xie Yun pass back the Book of Iron Refinement to the disciple of the master who wrote the manual. Xie Yun has built a tomb for General Wang Lin in Penglai Island. The general had wanted to build a peaceful state and now that it has been achieved, he should be able to rest in peace.

Li Sheng sends a letter to ask Zhou Fei to attend a gathering of all the sects at Liu Manor to show them Chu Chu’s compilations. He has earned much respect from all the sects’ elders. Xie Yun and Zhou Fei are leading a happy life but his marriage proposals keep getting rejected by her parents. Back at the fortress, Xie Yun is a class teacher while Zhou Fei trains the kids in martial arts. They are a contented couple as they enjoy each other’s company by the Ximo River.

Other Similar Wuxia Dramas

Legend Of Fei reminds a little of Heaven Sword And Dragon Sabre. This is because the various parties are all after something valuable. In the Legend Of Fei, a secret treasure is the ultimate aim while in the Heaven Sword And Dragon Sabre, everyone is after a weapon. There are a lot of fighting scenes in both wuxia dramas which will be exciting for fans of this genre.

As for The Moon Brightens For You, it is a shorter production but the male character is not a martial artist due to the poison in his body He is a strategist with an intelligent mind. Hence, he is a bit similar to Xie Yun in Legend Of Fei as the latter is also unable to practice martial arts for the same reason. In both of these dramas, we end up having a strong female character which is interesting for a wuxia theme.
