Sean Xiao’s new drama, Zang Hai Zhuan (藏海传) (also known as The Legend of Zang Hai / The Legend of the Hidden Sea / The Legend of the Tibetan Sea) is reportedly will be aired during the summer. With his huge fan base, there is a lot of excitement surrounding the rumored broadcast which is fast approaching. This is a political drama with a compact plot. Viewers can expect political intrigue and schemings in the royal court.
Sean Xiao Zhan plays Zang Hai whose family was wiped out when he was a child. After a decade of learning, he returns to the capital with a different identity to get his revenge. But his enemy is a powerful marquis. This begins a challenging journey of plotting against his enemy to bring him to justice while protecting the people and the kingdom.
Co-Star
Starring opposite Sean Xiao is Zhang Jing Yi whose popularity increased tremendously after the success of Lighter And Princess. She was also the lead in Blossoms In Adversity. In Zang Hai Zhuan, Zhang Jing Yi portrays Xiang An Tu who is an intelligent girl who came to know Zang Hai. They start off by making use of each other for their own aims before understanding and love set in.
Zang Hai Zhuan officially started filming at the end of December 2023 at Hengdian. Filming wrapped up in June 2024 and the cast was also officially announced with posters for the characters being released. The project then moved into post-production works. In September 2024, the drama was included in Youku’s 2025 list for shows to be broadcast.
