Episode 1
There are 2 deaths in a Chinese opera troupe. Po Kor vomited blood after being kicked by Lung Ying Suet during a rehearsal and died at the hospital. He was a good friend of Lung Yew Tin, the troupe owner’s son. At the same time, Lung Yew Tin is found dead in his make-up room. He was stabbed to death with wounds near the liver and neck.
Ko On is the leader of a forensic team while King Sir is a senior inspector. Together with their respective team members and a pathologist named Dr. Man, they investigate the case. They are good friends. Ko On’s sister, Ko Ching, is also King Sir’s subordinate. They find out that the 2 dead men had been poisoned prior to their deaths. They believe the target is Lung Yew Tin but Po Kor also became a victim because he took a drink from his friend’s cup. The initial suspect is Lung Ying Suet because the 2 of them cannot get along and she has the most to gain if Lung Yew Tin is dead.
Further investigation by King Sir reveals that Lung Ying Suet’s assistant, Heng Che, may be the murderer. Years ago, Lung Yew Tin raped her daughter which caused her to commit suicide. But Heng Che only admits that she stabbed Lung Yew Tin’s body once. The forensic team also couldn’t figure out the blood splatters on the floor until Ko On realizes that it is the result of the murderer shaking off the victim’s blood from his waterproof jacket. And the person who was wearing a jacket on that day is the troupe’s orchestra lead. When the police arrive to look for him, they find Lung Ying Suet at the door and inside there is a dead body.
Episode 2
The dead man is Wong Lap Keung, the troupe’s orchestra lead. His body has 2 slash wounds that are made by a Japanese sword technique. Like Lung Yew Tin, a tiger head is draped over Wong Lap Keung’s head and his hands are chained up. The suspect is again Lung Ying Suet but there is no proof that she practices any Japanese sword technique.
Dr. Man and Ko On go to pay respects to her late sister. At the cemetery, they meet Tsui Yi, an investigative reporter. Back to the case, an accident near the scene of Wong Lap Keung’s murder had caused a truck to spill some powder onto the road that night. By then, the investigators know that Wong Lap Keung is Lung Yew Tin’s killer. His jacket and a phone recording are the proof. Lung Yew Tin wanted to fire Wong Lap Keung from his job because the latter had contracted AIDS. So, Wong Lap Keung killed him.
But Wong Lap Keung himself was a gambler and abuser. He was abusing his wife who also contracted AIDS from him. Their son ended up killing his father as he hates him for abusing his mother. One of the evidences is the powder from the road accident which is found on his motorcycle which proves he was at the scene of the crime. But he doesn’t admit to chaining his father up. He learned of his mother being abused again that night from Cheung Suk Man, another troupe member. But she is then found injured and unconscious.
Episode 3
Lung Ying Suet claims that Cheung Suk Man slipped and fell when questioned by King Sir. Cheung Suk Man herself insists that she fell accidentally. According to a witness, both of them are like sisters and wouldn’t harm one another. Dr. Man takes tissue samples from Cheung Suk Man’s injuries and they find that a substance on her face matches the one found on the door of Lung Yew Tin’s make-up room. That means she may have leaned her face against the glass on the door to take a peek inside.
Tsui Yi moves into King Sir’s apartment as a sub-tenant. She bumps into Ko On again while investigating a rogue taxi driver who has been driving off with passengers’ valuables. Tsui Yi is gutsy and oblivious of danger while doing her job. Ko On’s long-term girlfriend, Monique, is back home after spending 1 month working abroad. She is a wine specialist. Their relationship is loving and stable.
To find out if Cheung Suk Man is involved in the murders of the troupe members, the police need to obtain her palm print to see if it also matches the one found on the door of Lung Yew Tin’s make-up room door. They set up a ruse by arresting Lung Ying Suet in her presence. They got her palm print and it matches. Cheung Suk Man is angry at Ko Ching for arresting her friend and tails her with a knife.
Episode 4
Cheung Suk Man is arrested for trying to harm Ko Ching. She admits to telling Heng Che that Lung Yew Tin is the one who raped her daughter. She also admits that she told Wong Lap Keung’s son about his father infecting his mother with AIDS. Cheung Suk Man saw Wong Lap Keung killing Lung Yew Tin as well. She influenced Heng Che and Wong Lap Keung’s son with her words in order to motivate them to act against the 2 men. She thinks that she is protecting Lung Ying Suet as these 2 men have quarreled with her.
Cheung Suk Man is indebted to Lung Ying Suet for pulling her our of depression and sees her as her savior. So, she is determined to remove obstacles out of Lung Ying Suet’s way. But in the end, she fails because Lung Ying Suet decides to retire from the troupe and opens a training center for the young instead. And the person who has hurt Lung Ying Suet the most is Cheung Suk Man herself due to her actions.
Tsui Yi is now investigating a charitable foundation managed by an actress, Hong Che. While Hong Che appears nice in public, Tsui Yi sees her being mean to her assistant in private. The forensics team and police are next called out to the murder scene of a clown which brings back memories of a past case.
Episode 5
The dead clown’s nickname is Yeh Chu. He is a wanted man from an earlier case whereby he had killed 3 other clowns who were his associates in a robbery. He was shot while trying to escape and then disappeared for a number of years. Yeh Chu has a close friend who was also involved in the earlier case named Chan Sam who is currently in jail. But Chan Sam has no clue about Yeh Chu’s recent dealings when questioned by King Sir and Ko On. They suspect that Yeh Chu was killed in another location and then dumped into the sea. His injuries are also consistent with those normally occurred after a fight.
Tsui Yi is looking for a man who has lost his sister. The private investigator she hired finds out that the man is called Ko On whom she have met. Tsui Yi tries to obtain an interview with Ko On but is turned down. Chau Che, who is like a mother to Dr. Man, comes by Ko Ching’s place to cook for them. Unknowingly, she used up a bottle of wine that has sentimental value to Ko On and Monique. That wine is a reminder of their first meeting. But Monique is surprisingly forgiving when told that the wine is gone.
Ko On and his team comb through the sail that had been used to wrap Yeh Chu’s body. There are traces of blood on the sail.

Ko On leads his team aboard the boat to collect evidence. They find part of a nail and broken glass pieces that match the wound on Yeh Chu’s neck. Kelvin and Hong Che produce a photo to claim that they were having tea at the time of the murder. But a cruise liner in the background proves that they have lied about the date. Tsui Yi who has been following Hong Che also has photos of the actress which shows her nail color being the same as the one found on the boat. Kelvin is the mastermind of the robbery previously and Yeh Chu was extorting him for money which led to him being killed. He is also having financial difficulties and wants to abscond.
Chau Che thought she has brain tumor which alarms Dr. Man. But it turns out to be merely a blocked ear. Tsui Yi tries to get information from Ko On about his lost sister. He tells her that his sister is called Ko Sin and was abducted 23 years ago. A corpse has been found in the waters and the team is called to investigate.

Chiu Weng Sau, a long time employee of Kelvin’s family business, seeks King Sir’s help to look for his missing daughter, Chiu Kit Yi. The body that they found turns out to be his daughter. He claims the murderer must be Hong Che because Chiu Kit Yi had been having an affair with Kelvin.
Hong Che denies the accusation. She admits that her husband killed Yeh Chu because the latter extorted him for money. Kelvin arranged for his father to be killed during the robbery to get his hands on the family business. But Hong Che has no idea about Chiu Kit Yi’s death.
Monique, Queen, and Elaine are good friends. Monique has no plans to get married and have kids. Her dream is to have her own vineyard in France while Ko On still wonders about his lost sister.
Just as the police are looking for Kelvin, he is found dead. His body is also sealed up in a vacuum bag with a bed bug inside. The blood inside the dead bugs does not belong to either Chiu Kit Yi or Kelvin. He also died of asphyxiation. They also found a diamond in his stomach. This diamond belongs to a smuggled batch that was lost during the robbery a few years ago. An injury on his head also matches a vacuum flask that Ko On has seen Chan Sam using. Chan Sam has recently been released from prison and working at a florist when Ko On bumped into him. They now suspect him to be the murderer.
Episode 8
Chan Sam killed both Chiu Kit Yi and Kelvin. Chiu Kit Yi befriended Chan Sam after his release from prison to find out about the diamonds that were robbed from Kelvin’s father. Chan Sam has hidden them inside his house’s curtain rod prior to getting arrested. When Chiu Kit Yi and Kelvin found out where the diamonds are hidden, they went to Chan Sam’s house to retrieve them. But Chan Sam arrived home just in time to stop them. He killed them to avenge Yeh Chu’s death. Yeh Chu was like a brother to him.
Chan Sam wants to smuggle out of Hong Kong. The smuggler demands for more money and informs him that Yeh Chu had wanted to abandon him 8 years ago after the robbery. Yeh Chu didn’t want to pay for Chan Sam’s fare to the smuggler then. Chan Sam doesn’t believe the smuggler and they get into a fight. Ko Ching arrives just in time to arrest Chan Sam. Stan is Dr. Man’s late sister’s boyfriend from 11 years ago. He has just returned from the US. With no permanent place to stay, Dr. Man offers him accommodation at her place.
Lai Chun Yue claims his laptop has been stolen when King Sir and Ko Ching turn up at his office to investigate. Hence, he says he doesn’t have the recording that took place at his office. But the police manage to get proof that his assistant uploaded the clip. He then blames his boss. When Lai Chun Yue bumps into Ko On and Monique, he acts arrogant and insinuates that she is no proper lady as she has slept with her professors while in university.
Sensing Lai Chun Yue is up to no good, Ko On tells King Sir to be prepared. As expected, the assistant changes his witness statement and takes the blame. But Ko On has the proof to the contrary.
Episode 10

There is a recording of his conversation with Lai Chun Yue which proves the latter’s guilt in defaming Monique. The assistant then squeals on his boss. Lai Chun Yue has a habit of secretly recording his sexual encounters with women which gives a good reason for the police to arrest him.
Monique admits to Ko On that she used to have a relationship with her language professor while in university. But it was a genuine relationship rather than an exchange of benefits. But an old injury visible on the leg bone eliminates that possibility.
Stan and Dr. Man begin to get a little too close to each other that the latter starts to feel awkward. After all, Stan was Dr. Man’s late sister’s boyfriend. Finally, Stan decides to return to the US to consider his job options for the time being.

From the scraps in the cement drum, Ko On and Queen manage to piece together the picture. A photo of Lan Yee’s son shows him wearing a shirt with the same picture.
Monique is offered her dream job of working together with a renowned wine specialist, James Parker. But she will need to move to the US for the job. Ko On encourages her to follow her dream.
Lan Yee’s Lost Son
If Ho Zhai is Lan Yee’s son, then who is in the cement drum? Lan Yee finally reveals the truth to Ko On and the police. When she was young, she was raped by her own brother. Her mother took her back to the mainland to give birth and then left the baby there. Due to in-breeding, Ho Zhai is mentally retarded. This is the lost son that they found but the one that she never wanted.
The son that she is looking for is Lun Zhai, the one she had with her husband. After her husband died and Lun Zhai became mentally slow due to a lack of oxygen during a fire, Lan Yee was convinced by a reporter, Wong Ming Lai, to cook up a sob story to get attention for her plight. She was taught to hide Lun Zhai and make a false police report that her son was missing. Unfortunately, she was knocked down in an accident 2 days later and cannot remember the details of what happened. But Wong Ming Lai told her that her son had gone missing while she was in hospital.
Through DNA test, it is confirmed that the remains in the cement drum is Lun Zhai. King Sir brings Wong Ming Lai in for questioning. He has changed his name to Tam Yee Kiu and is now an owner of a publishing company in which Tsui Yi is his employee. Using therapy, Ko On and Dr. Man find that Lan Yee loves her son too much to have done what Wong Ming Lai has claimed. They go back to the crime scene with King Sir to have another look.

One of his old photos has a snapshot of Wong Ming Lai putting Lun Zhai into a cement drum. Wong Ming Lai finally admits that he has accidentally killed Lun Zhai when the police manage to find a strong alibi to prove Lan Yee cannot be at the murder scene on the day Lun Zhai died.
In fact, Lan Yee was knocked down by a van and hit her head when she wanted to report that Wong Ming Lai had killed her son. The accident caused her to lose her memory for that day. Wong Ming Lai simply took advantage of her memory loss and told her Lun Zhai went missing. Then he escaped to Malaysia and only came back to Hong Kong after the case has died down.

From Cheok Nam’s video call with Ah Yan, King Sir could deduce her location. It is a shared office and the forensics team is called in to collect evidence. From the DNA found on a used tissue and hair, it points to a man rather than a woman. So, Ah Yan is a man pretending to be a woman to lure Cheok Nam to kill Lip Zheng Wang. A syringe with Elaine’s fingerprints is found near Louis’ home. But the amount of drug that had been injected into Louis by Elaine based on the syringe’s capacity is insufficient to kill him. So, Elaine could not be the murderer. The lack of fingerprints on Louis’ front door handle also indicates that it has been wiped down. His upstairs neighbor remember Louis had a visitor the day before he died. The person is a smoker. So, the forensics team do a test on the curtains to identify the cigarette smoked. It turns out to be a unique cigarette with alcoholic ingredients.
Queen drops by Dr. Ng’s home. He is Louis’ friend and she wants to return some documents that belong to him. She notices that he is a smoker and her nose picks up that unique cigarette smell.

Pathological findings reveal that Hui Weng Ci’s lungs are filled with water. But it is not sea water or water from the nearby fisheries. However, her wet shoes give investigators a clue to look for trucks transporting live fishes out of the area. A dashcam from one truck recorded Ku Sir and Hui Weng Ci leaving together from the area. This means that Ku Sir had lied earlier.
When Ko Ching goes to look for Ku Sir, he turns around and runs away. Ko Ching gives chase. Michael helps Ko Ching to apprehend Ku Sir. He is a popular YouTuber and their heroic efforts become viral online. Ku Sir admits that he molested Hui Weng Ci but he didn’t kill her. She died suddenly in his car and he simply dumped her body.
