Eternal Love Of Dream Episode Summary

Eternal Love Of Dream (三生三世枕上书) or Three Lives, Three Worlds, The Pillow Book is a story of the second couple, Dong Hua Di Jun and Bai Feng Jiu, which was featured in Eternal Love Ten Miles Of Peach Blossoms. The 2017 production is such an epic that it would be hard for any spin-offs and sequels to match its success. Nevertheless, I think many viewers still look forward to this 2020 production as this pairing does have quite a number of fans to root for them. I’m keeping an open mind as I watch this and you can read my Eternal Love Of Dream review when I have finished all the 56 episodes.

Episode 1

Dong Hua Di Jun battled with Demon King Miao Luo and defeated her. He had her sealed up and became the Emperor of the Heaven Clan. He is revered as a legend by many. Although he is cold and emotionless, he has many female admirers.

30,000 years later, Bai Feng Jiu of Qing Qiu, ventures into Mount Qinyao on a whim. She is a nine-tailed red fox and the youngest princess of Qing Qiu. Feng Jiu is mischievous and innocent. She studies about Dong Hua from her teacher and has great admiration for him. While at Mount Qinyao, she trespasses into a forbidden area of the demons and also the place where Demon King Miao Luo is sealed up. A beast chases after her.

Dong Hua senses the danger. He goes to Mount Qinyao to check things out and notices the beast. He kills it. When Demon Lord Xu Yang demands that he hands over the female trespasser, Dong Hua denies having noticed anyone. Lian Song then suggests that Dong Hua promises to do the demons tribe a favour in exchange for letting go of the trespasser. He does so to settle the issue.

Feng Jiu wants to repay Dong Hua for saving her life. She pleads with Si Ming to let her into Tai Chen Palace to serve as Dong Hua’s maid. She makes friends with Zhao Lu who warns her to stay out of trouble with Princess Zhi He. The princess also has interest in Dong Hua.

Episode 2

Dong Hua has taken up a new interest in honing his cooking skills. Si Ming becomes the guinea pig and faints after trying out the dish. Feng Jiu has to transport the Mufeng butterfly to Princess Zhi He but a drop of water causes it to swirl up a strong wind before flying away. Feng Jiu is punished with more chores. She also helps the butterfly with its injuries.

Dong Hua learns that General Meng Hao who helped in the battle with Demon King Miao Luo has been found at Baishui Mountain. He is locked up there as he has not been able to overcome his feelings for the Demon Queen sent to him as a bait. He is freed but as Dong Hua is someone who only cares about the world, Meng Hao feels he wouldn’t understand about romance.

Demon Lord Xu Yang wants to marry off his sister, Ji Heng, to Dong Hua. Demon Lord Yan Chi Wu is not happy as he is also interested in Ji Heng.

Princess Zhi He is angry that Feng Jiu is standing ahead of her when Dong Hua returns. She pushes her into the pond. Feng Jiu ends up having to sweep the courtyard but she gets help from the Mufeng butterfly with her chores. Princess Zhi He traps it into a box and throws it into the pond when she finds out. Immortal Official Chong Lin helps her out by ordering her to work in the imperial kitchen to avoid being thrown out of the palace. When Feng Jiu is tasked to deliver desserts to Dong Hua, she accidentally drops them and quietly replaces them with her own. Then Princess Zhi He stops her and overtakes the duty to prevent her from seeing Dong Hua.

Episode 3

Dong Hua and Lian Song like the desserts but Princess Zhi He claims credit for it. Si Ming notices Feng Jiu peeping from behind a beam. He is afraid that she will be discovered and hides her. Si Ming then drags Feng Jiu away and advises her to be careful not to expose her identity. Cheng Yu (Lian Song’s love interest) overhears the conversation. She supports Feng Jiu in her quest to repay Dong Hua’s kindness.

Princess Zhi He wants Feng Jiu to teach her how to make the desserts. But they don’t taste the same as the ones made by Feng Jiu. She becomes angry but Feng Jiu suggests that she needs to use a more valuable ingredient which can be obtained at the bottom of a lotus pond. Princess Zhi He drags Feng Jiu there and pushes her into the pond to retrieve the said ingredient.

Princess Zhi He then orders Feng Jiu to watch over the fish she is frying for Dong Hua. But Feng Jiu falls sleep and the fish ends up burnt. So, she has to cook one herself and the aroma attracts Dong Hua to the kitchen. He likes what she cooked and orders her to continue working in the imperial kitchen.

Ji Heng is not happy that her brother wants her to marry Dong Hua. She is interested in her personal bodyguard, Min Su. Yan Chi Wu sends a letter to Dong Hua to challenge him to a fight to try to stop the engagement. But Dong Hua gives him frivolous excuses of having chores to do to fend him off. Yan Chi Wu ends up doing the chores to try to force a duel but Dong Hua still rejects his challenge and throws him out of the palace.

Episode 4

Demon Lord Nie Chu Yin advises Yan Chi Wu to steal the soul locking jade to force Dong Hua to a duel. Princess Zhi He is jealous of Feng Jiu and is about to quietly stab her with her hairpin when Cheng Yu appears and warns her of the consequences.

When Feng Jiu finds out from Cheng Yu what Dong Hua is up to, she rushes there to help him. By then, the soul locking jade has transformed into the ten-evil lotus land and Dong Hua is battling demonic forces in it. When Nie Chu Yin notices Feng Jiu, he offers to give her half of his cultivation in exchange for some of her fur for 3 years. Feng Jiu agrees as she wants to help Dong Hua. However, she loses some of her tails instead and cannot transform back into human form with the loss.

With the increase in her cultivation, Feng Jiu is able to kill some of the demons as a fox. But she accidentally burns her own paw with her fiery attacks. Ji Heng also drops by to help Dong Hua when she hears what Yan Chi Wu has done. Dong Hua helps Feng Jiu to bandage her paw and develops a soft spot for her as a fox. He refuses to let Ji Heng have her when he has defeated all the demons and it is time to leave. He brings the fox back to Tai Chen Palace and asks Chong Lin to look after her while he is busy.

While Ji Heng is in ten-evil lotus land, her brother orders Min Su to be sent to battle some beasts. He wants Min Su to stay away from Ji Heng until she is married off.

Episode 5

Ji Heng goes to help Min Su with the beasts. They are fighting a losing battle until Meng Hao appears in his dragon form to protect Ji Heng. He risks his life to save her. The reason is Ji Heng is Meng Hao’s daughter. He fell in love with the Chi Demon Lord’s wife and they had Ji Heng. Meng Hao has been secretly protecting Ji Heng ever since. Dong Hua is at Baishui Mountain to collect some medicine for Feng Jiu’s burnt paw. He senses Meng Hao is in danger and arrives to help him. But it is too late. Meng Hao dies from his injuries but he requests Dong Hua to cure Ji Heng’s Qiushui Cold Toxin.

Dong Hua agrees. Ji Heng then informs Dong Hua about her love for Min Su and requests his help. Dong Hua strikes an agreement with Xu Yang to send Ji Heng to Tai Chen Palace in 3 months’ time and to let Min Su off. The condition is Demon Lord Xu Yang shouldn’t rebel and must abide by the laws since he claims the marriage between Ji Heng and Dong Hua is for world peace.

Dong Hua begins to spend a lot of time with Feng Jiu as he loves the fox. He is always talking to her and stroking her to make her feel loved. This causes Princess Zhi He to be jealous. Dong Hua also finds out from her that Feng Jiu is missing when he wants to taste her cooking. But from Dong Hua’s conversation with others, Feng Jiu begins to worry if he only sees her as a pet and whether he would be angry once he finds out the truth about her identity. Then, a guest arrives and she is expected to behave.

Episode 6

Ji Heng arrives at Tai Chen Palace. Feng Jiu is no longer friendly towards her when she hears that she is going to marry Dong Hua. Lian Song wants to give Cheng Yu a specially designed multi-purpose knife for her birthday. Feng Jiu improvises on the design but Dong Hua assumes it is Ji Heng’s work. When Ji Heng didn’t correct his assumptions, Feng Jiu bites her hand. Dong Hua carries her out of the room.

Feng Jiu sees that Dong Hua treats Ji Heng very differently and she seems special to him. This causes her to feel down and jealous. She scratches Ji Heng again when the latter tries to imprint her paw on her feeding bowl. Feng Jiu finds it humiliating given her status. Dong Hua then orders Chong Lin to lock her up.

Feng Jiu again gets into trouble when she wanders off and gets attacked by Suo Ying, a spiritual tiger pet. Suo Ying is jealous that Feng Jiu is Dong Hua’s beloved pet and injures her. She is then flung into the water. Si Ming saves her and nurses her back to health. During the days she has been missing, she is sad that Dong Hua has not looked for her.

Si Ming advises Feng Jiu that it is time for her to put down her obsession for Dong Hua and return to Qing Qiu. Dong Hua is getting married to Ji Heng in 2 days’ time. Si Ming brings Feng Jiu to see Dong Hua one last time. They remain hidden and observe from afar. Feng Jiu can see Dong Hua with Ji Heng and Suo Ying. They look good together and she is sad that Dong Hua has never looked at her as anything more than a pet.

Episode 7

Cheng Yu is dissatisfied with how Dong Hua has treated Feng Jiu. She purposely requests Dong Hua to allow her to meet his pet fox. Lian Song pulls her away before she could antagonize Dong Hua further. Cheng Yu warns Lian Song not to interfere in her affairs. Although Lian Song had saved her while during her mortal trials, she feels that it is just his way to trick women.

Zhe Yan, Cheng Yu, and Si Ming beat up Nie Chu Yin to get back Feng Jiu’s fur tails. Feng Jiu transforms back into human form and returns to Qing Qiu. She is sad and ashamed for being treated as a disobedient pet. Zhe Yan comforts and reminds her not to expose her secret to her family.

Nie Chu Yin wants to help Demon King Miao Luo to break out of her seal. He is not happy that the demons are being looked down upon by the immortals and wants to replace Xu Yang. Miao Luo tells him to look for the soul locking jade to break the seal.

Princess Zhi He finds Ji Heng and Min Su together and grabs the opportunity to be the bride instead on the wedding day. Yan Chi Wu tries to take her away thinking she is Ji Heng who has gone missing. Lian Song stops him. The event becomes a mess. The Heavenly King orders Lian Song and Princess Zhe He to be imprisoned for failing in the wedding preparations and deception respectively.

Xu Yang wants to know what has happened to Ji Heng and argues with Yan Chi Wu for creating trouble. He learns that Min Su is also missing but they have implanted a soul-tracking device on her. Ji Heng’s disappearance is actually arranged by Dong Hua.

Episode 8

Zhe Yan helps Feng Jiu to beat up Nie Chu Yin for tricking her. Zhe Yan could feel that the magic powers Nie Chu Yin practices is different from his last confrontation with him. Feng Jiu also reunites with her grandfather and promises to be good. Dong Hua hears that his pet fox is missing and tries his best to look for her.

Xu Yang tracks down Ji Heng and Min Su. Min Su pleads with Xu Yang to let Ji Heng go and commits suicide. Before dying, Min Su reveals to Ji Heng that she is actually a woman. She has disguised herself as a man to protect herself back then. Ji Heng then vows that their sibling relationship is over. She takes Min Su’s body and drops down the cliff together. Ji Heng falls through to the mortal realm and loses her memory. She is saved by Nie Chu Yin but can’t remember who he is.

Xu Yang reports back to the Heavenly King about Ji Heng. The issue is considered settled. Dong Hua absolves Lian Song from any punishment but refuses to intercede when Princess Zhi He is ordered to go to the West Desert. She accuses him of being cruel but he feels the punishment is justified.

Dong Hua can feel that Miao Luo is becoming active. He repairs the seal but collapses upon his return to his palace. He has yet to fully recover from his battle in the lotus land and helping Ji Heng to suppress her poison. This would cause Miao Luo to create trouble. So, Lian Song suggests to God Yun Zhuang to cast half of Dong Hua’s shadow into Fanyin Valley. Feng Jiu has no interest in other men and keeps scaring them off.

Episode 9

Xie Gu Chou is the Lord of the Nether World. He gets information that Dong Hua is going to the mortal realm to experience his trials in 300 years time. During this time, he will be quietly cultivating in Tai Chen Palace while having God Yun Zhuang to cast past-life magic on his shadow to make him appear in another world. Despite her painful memories, Feng Jiu still wants to repay Dong Hua’s kindness for saving her life. Helping him in the mortal world would be her best chance to repay him.

Dong Hua wants to bring forward his trials in the mortal world as he wants to re-acquire his cultivation powers quickly. He is reborn as Crown Prince Song Xuan Ren. His mother died during childbirth. His brother is not too fond of him but he has his father’s trust. During a hunting competition, he gets to know Ye Qing Ti, the son of the Duke of Yongning. When Xuan Ren is ordered to go into battle with a neighboring country, Ye Qing Ti is tasked to be his assistant commander. Nie Chu Yin has information that the soul locking jade could be in Chengyu. He wants to go and check it out.

Feng Jiu learns from Cheng Yu that Dong Hua has brought forward his trials in the mortal world. She is keen to go and check on him but Si Ming advises her against it. She cannot help him as an immortal as that would break his trials and could backfire on her. But she couldn’t help herself from worrying about Dong Hua.

Episode 10

Feng Jiu helps Xuan Ren in the battle against Chong’an dressed as a soldier. She saves his life. Ye Qing Ti also fights hard alongside Xuan Ren and prevents him from getting killed by enemies. They become brothers. They win the war and Xuan Ren orders Ye Qing Ti to look for Feng Jiu. However, she couldn’t be found in his army. After using her immortal powers in the mortal realm, Feng Jiu returns to Qing Qiu weakened with injuries.

Xuan Ren’s father is sick. He shares with Xuan Ren the secret of the Lingbi Stone. It is hidden in the royal tomb. The Lingbi Stone dropped from the sky to save Xuan Ren’s grandfather from defeat during a war. Hence, it is regarded as a treasure that will keep Chengyu safe. Xuan Ren promises that he will guard the stone with his life. When his father passed away, Xuan Ren becomes Chengyu’s Emperor.

Nie Chu Yin convinces the Chong’an Emperor with his demonic powers to listen to him on how to obtain the Lingbi Stone. He lies to Ji Heng to make her willingly cooperate with him and changes a servant’s face to look like Min Su. Ji Heng has a vague recollection of the face. Nie Chu Yin wants to ensure that Ji Heng would listen to him by making use of Min Su’s appearance although he becomes hurt by using his powers in the mortal realm. His plan is to send Ji Heng, who is now known as Chu Wan, as a Chong’an Princess to be married to Xuan Ren.

Xuan Ren agrees to the proposal as he also wants to make peace with Chong’an. He also orders they expand their search for Feng Jiu.

Episode 11

Si Ming is annoyed with Feng Jiu for saving Dong Hua in the mortal realm. This prevented Dong Hua from experiencing one of his trials which is getting injured and then falling in love with his carer, Zhou Meng Xi. So, Si Ming wants Feng Jiu to look for Meng Xi in the mortal world and get them to meet. She goes there disguised as a man.

Chu Wan is sent to Chengyu and accompanied by Ye Qing Ti. Assassins sent by Xuan Ren’s elder brother, Xuan Ying, try to have her killed but fail. Feng Jiu warns Ye Qing Ti of an attack which saves his life. He brings her to meet Xuan Ren. She asks to be Xuan Ren’s guard as a reward for saving his life. Feng Jiu notices Chu Wan at the palace and is curious as she looks like Ji Heng.

Chu Wan instructs Ling Xiang to map out the palace in order to find the Lingbi Stone. Ye Qing Ti treats Feng Jiu as a brother. She asks him to help her to find Meng Xi whom she claims is a distant relative. After a drinking session with him, Feng Jiu gets tipsy. When she sees a snake, she panics and crashes into Xuan Ren. Both fall into the pond. Feng Jiu’s hair becomes undone. Xuan Ren sees her as a woman and falls in love with her at first sight. Feng Jiu disappears under the water and escapes to hide her identity.

Xuan Ren orders his men to look for the woman but she couldn’t be found. He gets Ye Qing Ti and Feng Jiu to investigate. Feng Jiu is given a team to lead and she proves herself to earn the admiration of the men.

Episode 12

Xuan Ying is worried about Feng Jiu’s capability. He orders his men to investigate her background. Xuan Ren is pining for the woman who fell into the pond with him. But his men don’t any clues of who she is. Cheng Yu is concerned that Feng Jiu may end up feeling hurt in the mortal realm. But Feng Jiu reassures her she is only there to repay Dong Hua’s kindness. She also informs them about Ji Heng’s presence at the palace.

Cheng Yu manages to confirm that Chu Wan is Ji Heng. But they are unsure of her motive. Feng Jiu suspects that she has lost her memory. They plan to test her reaction by showing her the multi-purpose knife design that she should be familiar with. Cheng Yu has to obtain that from Lian Song who demands for her time in exchange. Feng Jiu shows the knife design to Xuan Ren in Chu Wan’s presence. No reaction from Chu Wan could be seen. Chu Wan also tries to get close to Xuan Ren but elicits little response from him.

Ye Qing Ti is feeling strange that he keeps thinking of Feng Jiu. Xuan Ren orders Ye Qing Ti to stop looking for the woman who fell into the water although he asks Feng Jiu to accompany him to the Cold Palace for a last ditch effort. He also wants the knife designed by Feng Jiu to be made. Ye Qing Ti finally finds out what happened to Meng Xi. He informs Feng Jiu that Meng Xi had died earlier. Therefore, Dong Hua’s love misfortune in the mortal realm could not be completed and this would prevent him from regaining his cultivation. To remedy the situation, Si Ming asks Feng Jiu to be Xuan Ren’s lover instead.

Episode 13

Feng Jiu sheds her male persona and admits to being the woman who fell into the pond with Xuan Ren. He grants her Imperial Lady status but the Empress Dowager advises Xuan Ren to hold off the official conferring ceremony until they are more comfortable with her background. Feng Jiu picks Mu Yun to be her personal maid. She suspects Mu Yun could be the Mufeng butterfly which had been killed by Princess Zhi He earlier. Feng Jiu also promises Si Ming that she will try to complete her mission as soon as possible and not become emotionally involved.

Ye Qing Ti feels sad over Feng Jiu because he also has interest in her but she is now Xuan Ren’s concubine. He forbids his men from questioning Feng Jiu’s loyalty as she had saved both the Emperor and himself before.

Xuan Ren enjoys being with Feng Jiu but is curious about her past relationship with someone whom she seems to have deep feelings for. Ling Xiang has checked all the possible sites for the Lingbi Stone. Only Xuan Ren’s chamber is left to be investigated. A message meant for Nie Chu Yin is intercepted by Xuan Ying’s maid. Xuan Ying hints that they should be friends rather than enemies.

Chu Wan tries to get close to Xuan Ren and begins to gain his attention. Feng Jiu feels uncomfortable knowing Xuan Ren would have other women and feels weaker as her stay in the mortal world lengthens. When Xuan Ren is with Chu Wan, he receives news that Feng Jiu has fainted. He rushes to be with her and hears her calling him Di Jun in her semi-conscious state. She quickly corrects herself. She also finds Xuan Ren has really fallen in love with her.

Episode 14

Xuan Ren personally roasts some sweet potatoes for Feng Jiu which reminds her of her time with Dong Hua. He also brings her to the hunting ground for an outing. Feng Jiu wants to repay him for his kindness and bakes him some desserts. She lets Ye Qing Ti to try one when he comes by for clarification about her multi-purpose knife design. Feng Jiu feeds him as his hands are dirty but this is witnessed by Xuan Ren. He becomes jealous. When Xuan Ren asks her if he is the first person to try the desserts, she admits that he is not. But she is thinking of Dong Hua when she replies while Xuan Ren assumes she is referring to Ye Qing Ti.

Xuan Ren appoints Chu Wan to organize the palace feast for a festival. Feng Jiu is tasked to make her desserts. Ling Xiang tries to lace the desserts with laxatives to pave the way for Chu Wan to be Xuan Ren’s favorite concubine. But Chu Wan stops her. She feels they cannot rush to complete their mission but to earn Xuan Ren’s trust first. But the Chief Eunuch still died from poisoning when he tasted the desserts as a precaution.

Feng Jiu and Mu Yun are imprisoned and cruelly interrogated. Xuan Ying tells the Empress Dowager to get rid of Feng Jiu. The Empress Dowager is also worried that enemies might take advantage of Xuan Ren’s kindness and reminds him so. Xuan Ren doesn’t believe Feng Jiu is guilty and orders Ye Qing Ti to investigate the matter within 7 days. Ye Qing Ti reassures Feng Jiu of Xuan Ren’s trust in her.

Episode 15

Xuan Ren notices Chu Wan praying for her late mother. She is trying to soften his heart towards her. Xuan Ren wants evidence of Feng Jiu’s innocence although he trusts her. He emphasizes to Ye Qing Ti that he cannot free her without evidence as he is the Emperor.

Ye Qing Ti tries to get Feng Jiu to reveal her background so that he can get the necessary proof that she is not guilty. But Feng Jiu wouldn’t reveal her secret. Chu Wan drugs Xuan Ren’s soup to make him fall asleep. She then takes the opportunity to look for the Lingbi Stone in his chamber. Chu Wan couldn’t find anything and asks Ling Xiang to re-look at the places that she has investigated.

Xuan Ren visits Feng Jiu in prison. He wants to know her background so he can save her. But she refuses to tell him. She is thinking that if she dies, he will feel the pain of losing someone he loves when he finds out that she is innocent. Hence, he would complete his love misfortune. Her refusal makes Xuan Ren thinks that Feng Jiu has a motive for entering the palace. Chu Wan tries to ask Xuan Ren about the Lingbi Stone but he refuses to divulge any details.

Cheng Yu wants to save Feng Jiu but Si Ming advises her against it as that will only cause further mess. Ye Qing Ti questions Feng Jiu again and finally proves that it is the plate that is poisonous and not the desserts. Xuan Ying quickly kills the maid who was caught when she tries to attack Xuan Ren. Feng Jiu is freed. Xuan Ren gives her a higher status and asks for her forgiveness. Ye Qing Ti is sad that he cannot have Feng Jiu.

Episode 16

Feng Jiu rejects Xuan Ren’s numerous gifts as amends. She is happy with just an incense that is personally made by him. The Empress Dowager is relieved to hear from Xuan Ren’s eunuch that Feng Jiu seems innocent. But she still asks him to monitor her.

Feng Jiu gives Ye Qing Ti more of her ointment for his scar to repay him for clearing her name. Chu Wan is sick and Xuan Ren visits her with Feng Jiu. The imperial physician detects a strange pulse. Feng Jiu knows that is because Chu Wan is a demon. Chu Wan insists that it is just a cold.

Xuan Ren brings Feng Jiu to see the Lingbi Stone which looks like the soul locking jade. It lights up when Xuan Ren touches it. However, it also lights up when she touches it. She wonders if the jade recognizes her from the ten-evil lotus land. Xuan Ren wants Feng Jiu to help him to improve the trap mechanisms in the royal tomb to better protect the Lingbi Stone. When Xuan Ren hurts his finger, Feng Jiu is concerned. He tries to kiss her. She avoids it when she recalls Si Ming’s words that Xuan Ren is not Dong Hua.

Cheng Yu visits Feng Jiu who is drawing the Lingbi Stone. She thinks it is a fake. Feng Jiu then discards the drawing. Feng Jiu admits that she feels guilty about having to hurt Xuan Ren to complete her mission. Xuan Ren visits Feng Jiu to admire the moon together. He then wakes up to learn that he has gotten drunk and was sent home by Ye Qing Ti. Xuan Ren delights Feng Jiu by making her some lily cakes. He also wants to quickly complete the mechanisms for the royal tomb.

Episode 17

Xuan Ren tells Feng Jiu how much his father loved his mother and that he is feeling the same towards her. Si Ming advises Feng Jiu to break Xuan Ren’s heart to complete his misfortune in love. Chu Wan presents Xuan Ren with a fragrant sachet that will enable tracking of her movements.

Xuan Ren is busy and unable to accompany Feng Jiu to the royal tomb. Ling Xiang tails Feng Jiu to the underground tomb. But the traps force her to abandon further investigation and she is hurt by an arrow. Ye Qing Ti rushes into the tomb to protect Feng Jiu. When they have a chat later, Feng Jiu wants Ye Qing Ti to stop treating her as a royalty. Feng Jiu confides in him about her love for a man. He assumes it is someone else other than Xuan Ren. Ye Qing Ti couldn’t admit his feelings for Feng Jiu but he promises to help her if the need arises.

Ling Xiang believes that the Lingbi Stone is in the royal tomb. Chu Wan goes to see Feng Jiu and brings up the Lingbi Stone in their conversation. She also finds Feng Jiu’s discarded painting of the stone. Ling Xiang convinces Chu Wan that they have to act immediately. But Feng Jiu realizes Chu Wan’s motive through the fragrant sachet and other clues.

Ling Xiang is caught when she ventures into the tomb. She claims she is solely to blame and kills herself. Xuan Ren orders Chu Wan’s imprisonment. Xuan Ying wants his men to keep an eye on Chu Wan in case she squeals on him. Feng Jiu visits her in prison and calls her Ji Heng. She tells Ji Heng not to be used by others when the latter refuses to reveal the mastermind.

Episode 18

Chu Wan vanished from prison when Xuan Ying’s men try to kill her. Xuan Ren is angry at the guards for Chu Wan’s disappearance. However, Feng Jiu reminds Xua Ren about the imperial physician’s diagnosis of Chu Wan’s abnormal pulse. She tells him that Chu Wan is probably not a mortal. Xuan Ren lets the matter rest. Chu Wan is actually saved by Yan Chi Wu who has been tracking her whereabouts. But she has no memory of who he is.

Xuan Ren visits Feng Jiu at night and presents her with a valuable hairpin. He wants to spend the night with her but she falls asleep as she has been drinking. The Empress Dowager is still wary of Feng Jiu as her background remains vague. She warns her not to use underhanded tactics to win Xuan Ren’s favor.

Nie Chu Yin threatens to reveal Xuan Ying’s secrets to force him to cooperate to get the Lingbi Stone. He will help him to be Chengyu’s Emperor in exchange. Xuan Ying reluctantly agrees to get the map of the royal tomb for Nie Chu Yin. The map is in Xuan Ren’s study room and he quietly retrieves it.

Xuan Ren notices that Ye Qing Ti’s scar is gone. He suspects it is because of Feng Jiu’s ointment. Si Ming advises Feng Jiu to finish her mission soon to avoid getting in too deep. Ye Qing Ti brings Feng Jiu to watch the sunset as she has been feeling down. He also gives her a bracelet and tells her that he would help her if one day she decides to leave the palace. When she returns late at night, Xuan Ren is waiting for her. He notices her bracelet and suspects she is lying when she says she has been out alone.

Episode 19

Xuan Ren knows Feng Jiu has lied to him. He begins to drink and has no interest to deal with state affairs. The Empress Dowager tells him to be responsible and to quickly select his Empress to avoid problems in his harem. Xuan Ying gives Nie Chu Yin the map of the royal tomb. Nie Chu Yin assures him that he will help him to ascend the throne once they have got the Lingbi Stone.

Feng Jiu confides in Cheng Yu that she feels miserable that Xuan Ren is going to choose his Empress soon. But Xuan Ren decides that his Empress is going to be Feng Jiu after all. His ministers raise their objections as Feng Jiu’s background is murky but Xuan Ren is adamant on his choice. He also convinces the Empress Dowager that Feng Jiu is the right choice because she could light up the Lingbi Stone.

Feng Jiu is shocked that Xuan Ren has chosen her as the Empress. She knows it is time for her to complete his love misfortune. Ye Qing Ti is also sad that he cannot have Feng Jiu. He gives her a letter that speaks of his feelings for her and his willingness to help her get out of the palace. Si Ming thinks this is a golden opportunity that Feng Jiu should take advantage of. Feng Jiu’s heart aches that she has to hurt Xuan Ren when he loves her so much.

Nie Chu Yin has made the preparations. Xuan Ying tells him the royal wedding would be a good time to launch an attack. On the wedding day, both Feng Jiu and Ye Qing Ti go missing. Xuan Ren finds Ye Qing Ti’s letters to Feng Jiu. He orders them to be caught and brought back.

Episode 20

The Empress Dowager is livid that Feng Jiu has eloped with Ye Qing Ti. With the wedding cancelled, Xuan Ying and Nie Chu Yin postpone their attack. Nie Chu Yin is happy that the highly capable Ye Qing Ti is no longer guarding the palace. Xuan Ren’s soldiers catch up with Feng Jiu and Ye Qing Ti. She is brought back to face Xuan Ren. Feng Jiu apologizes but Xuan Ren is pained that she chose their wedding day to leave him. He tells her that he doesn’t want to see her again.

Feng Jiu vomits blood and faints. The Empress Dowager orders her to be imprisoned while Xuan Ren resists demands to have her executed. Xuan Ren visits Ye Qing Ti in prison. His general admits that he has fallen for Feng Jiu but he is unsure of her feelings for him. Xuan Ren begs the Empress Dowager to spare both their lives.

Nie Chu Yin gives Xuan Ying a demon knife to use for the attack. Xuan Ying gets his men to open the gates to allow enemies into the capital. Feng Jiu could sense something is amiss while in prison. Xuan Ren orders Ye Qing Ti to be released to guard the capital. Feng Jiu pleads with Xuan Ren to release Ye Qing Ti so that he can help him with the battle. But Xuan Ren is pained that she is asking him to spare Ye Qing Ti’s life. He asks her to follow him as the battle rages. Feng Jiu feels suspicious and believes that the perpetrators are after the Lingbi Stone.

Xuan Ren brings Feng Jiu and his men to the royal tomb to find Xuan Ying there. Xuan Ying is jealous that his brother is always the favored one despite him being the eldest.

Episode 21

Xuan Ying starts a fight. Feng Jiu saves Xuan Ren and gets stabbed with the demon knife. Being an immortal, she didn’t die. Ye Qing Ti arrives to help them. Xuan Ren presses a button to re-lock the Lingbi Stone. The royal tomb begins to crumble. Ye Qing Ti is stabbed when he saves Feng Jiu from Xuan Ying’s attack. Before he dies, he locks himself in with the enemies to let Xuan Ren and Feng Jiu escape.

Nie Chu Yin’s subordinate reports back that he saw Dong Hua at the royal tomb. Xuan Ren drags Feng Jiu away as the tomb collapses. She faints from her injuries. Xuan Ren hopes for a fresh start with her. The Empress Dowager is depressed over Xuan Ying’s betrayal and also forgives Feng Jiu and Ye Qing Ti for saving Xuan Ren’s life.

Feng Jiu awakens and is depressed over Ye Qing Ti’s death. She feels that she owes him his life. Xuan Ren asks Feng Jiu if she could still be his Empress. She remains silent. The next day, Feng Jiu rides up to the cliff. She tells Xuan Ren that the man she loves is Ye Qing Ti. He doesn’t believe her. She then tells him that her greatest hurt is seeing him in sorrow for his unrequited love for her. She then jumps off the cliff.

Xuan Ren is depressed over Feng Jiu’s death and has no will to live. Feng Jiu is back in the immortal world and requests Xie Gu Chou to revive Ye Qing Ti. She is told to get a magical fruit which can change Ye Qing Ti from a mortal to an immortal. Xuan Ren dies of heartbreak as he keeps thinking of Feng Jiu. Dong Hua wakes up with a tear in his eye.

Episode 22

Dong Hua wakes up feeling sad but he cannot remember what happened in the mortal realm. He regains about 70% to 80% of his cultivation. Yan Chi Wu helps Ji Heng to regain her memory. She appreciates his help and concern for her. But she still quietly leaves him to go to Fanyin Valley which is recommended by Dong Hua earlier to cure her Qiushui Cold Toxin.

Lian Song becomes a busybody and wants to know from Si Ming about Dong Hua’s love misfortune. But Si Ming is unwilling to tell him. Lian Song is curious if he is protecting someone he likes by keeping quiet.

Nie Chu Yin manages to get the soul locking jade. But it is unresponsive to him. He gives the jade to Miao Luo although he is afraid she might break her promise to make him the demon’s ruler when she frees herself from the seal. Miao Luo needs time to regain her cultivation before she can take on Dong Hua. Yan Chi Wu is angry at Nie Chu Yin for making use of Ji Heng in the mortal realm.

Feng Jiu returns to Qing Qiu. She is still feeling downcast but tells Cheng Yu that she has let go of Dong Hua. Feng Jiu also promises Bai Qian that she will not be willful anymore and disgrace Qing Qui. Bai Qian asks Ah Li to accompany Feng Jiu to cheer her up. They go to a fair and she ends earning the admiration of a gentleman.

Lian Song keeps asking Cheng Yu to help him to organize an up-coming ceremony. She keeps rejecting him and finds him annoying. In actual fact, Lian Song’s intention is to distract her from her worries over Feng Jiu.

Episode 23

Zhe Yan informs Bai Yi that Immortal Lord Cang Yi is interested to marry Feng Jiu. He has even drawn up the agreement. Feng Jiu is still finding it hard to forget Dong Hua. Cheng Yu drinks with her to ease her heartache and advises her that she should get someone new to forget Dong Hua. In her drunken state afterwards, Feng Jiu quickly agrees to marry Cang Yi. Lian Song drops by to give Cheng Yu the multi-purpose knife that he has designed. Cheng Yu finally agrees to help Lian Song with organizing an up-coming ceremony to get him off her back.

Dong Hua dreams of his time in the mortal realm and the woman he had fallen for. Lian Song feels he has become more reserved since returning from his trial. Dong Hua finally gives in to his curiosity and reads the Book of Fate to find out his life as a mortal. But the story does not tally with his dream as the book mentions about Meng Xi instead. Lian Song tells Cheng Yu that she can protect her friend (i.e. Feng Jiu) by not revealing her identity and relationship with Dong Hua but she should not put Dong Hua in danger.

Feng Jiu wakes up from her stupor and realizes she had made a mistake in agreeing to the marriage with Cang Yi. Her father refuses to break the agreement even with Bai Zhen’s intervention. So, Feng Jiu goes to see Cang Yi herself to cancel the agreement. Ah Li informs Bai Yi. Cang Yi refuses Feng Jiu’s request as he truly likes her. Feng Jiu challenges him to a duel with the condition that if he loses, the agreement is void. Bai Yi and Zhe Yan arrive to stop the fight.

Episode 24

Zhe Yan suggests that the marriage agreement be cancelled. Cang Yi reluctantly agrees as he can see Feng Jiu’s determination. Bai Yi wants to whip her daughter as punishment but Cang Yi stops him. Cang Yi tells Feng Jiu that he will wait for her until she changes her mind. Cheng Yu drops by to chat with Feng Jiu and is asked to bring some desserts to Zhe Yan. Lian Song notices Cheng Yu’s interactions with Zhe Yan and gets a little jealous.

Dong Hua is willing to escort Bai Qian for her wedding as he wants to go to Qing Qiu to look for the fox that he lost. During the journey, Si Ming relates to Lian Song about Qing Qiu’s youngest princess, Feng Jiu. As he tells his story, he seems to be targeting it at Dong Hua who remains aloof. When Feng Jiu receives their entourage, Dong Hua doesn’t seem to pay any attention to her.

Feng Jiu brings Ah Li to follow Bai Qian’s entourage to the Sky Kingdom. Dong Hua listens to Feng Jiu’s conversation with Si Ming and realizes she seems to know quite a bit about him. But she denies it when Dong Hua confronts her. Bai Yi and Bai Zhen agree that it will be good for Feng Jiu to remain in Sky Kingdom for a few days to lift her spirits. It would also be a good opportunity for her to meet potential suitors. So, they have arrange blind dates for her to go to. Princess Zhi He is also back at Sky Kingdom for the wedding.

Feng Jiu purposely chases away the suitors during the blind dates by pretending to be sloppy and being a drunkard. Dong Hua notices her antics and invites her to join him for a drink.

Episode 25

Feng Jiu is nervous being in his presence and becomes clumsy. Dong Hua doesn’t seem to mind. Lian Song and Si Ming are surprised to see that Dong Hua is showing interest in Feng Jiu when he has always been indifferent to everything. As Lian Song chats with Si Ming, he suspects that the latter is seemingly protecting Feng Jiu again in his cryptic messages.

During a ceremony, Cheng Yu couldn’t control the flower spirit as it wreaks havoc. She finally shoots it down with her bow and arrow. As the Jade Pool Fairy, Cheng Yu should be punished but Lian Song also claims responsibility to protect her. The Heavenly King lets them go. Cheng Yu thanks him and promises to repay her gratitude to him.

Feng Jiu brings Bai Qian to a waterfall. Dong Hua is nearby and watches their interaction. On their way back, they come across a fiery beast which is attacking some people. Princess Zhi He is there but she is reluctant to save them. Feng Jiu battles it at great risk. When she is about to be killed, Dong Hua appears to save her. He is beginning to show increasing interest in Feng Jiu. Princess Zhi He pleads with Dong Hua to return to the Sky Kingdom.

A big bunch of suitors is arranged for Feng Jiu during a blind date. She runs away and ends up hiding in an indoor hot spring. Feng Jiu becomes tempted and removes all her clothes to enjoy a dip. But Dong Hua is around and notices her. He stares at her until Feng Jiu asks him to turn around and passes her her clothes. Lian Song witnesses the exchange. Later, Feng Jiu realizes that she has left behind her bracelet and hairpin. Dong Hua has taken them.

Episode 26

Si Ming gossips with Feng Jiu that Dong Hua is seen with a fairy at the hot spring. She chokes when she hears it. Cheng Yu informs Feng Jiu that Dong Hua will be alone at Qingyuan Hall the next day. She can ask him back for her bracelet and hairpin then. She does so without noticing that there are other immortals in the room. He gives them back to her with others looking on. Lian Song informs Dong Hua that Yan Chi Wu is again wanting to get even with him.

The Heavenly King allows Princess Zhi He to return to the Sky Kingdom. But Feng Jiu suggests that an immortal should win a battle as contribution before allowed to return. Dong Hua volunteers for the battle on Princess Zhi He’s behalf but in private, he still wants her to return to West Desert.

Lian Song tries to woo Cheng Yu again. This time, she becomes nervous of his advances and runs off. Feng Jiu mentions to Dong Hua about being his pet while drunk before falling asleep on his lap. Dong Hua carries her back to her quarters and leaves his gown with her as she was clinging to it. Feng Jiu then flings it back into his courtyard to return to him. Dong Hua is amused. Princess Zhi He warns Feng Jiu not to bewitch Dong Hua. Feng Jiu dodges when Princess Zhi He tries to push her and causes her to stumble onto a pile of bird shit.

Everyone is betting on Princess Zhi He to end up with Dong Hua. Feng Jiu asks Ah Li to bet on her to even things up. When she sees Dong Hua approaching, she turns into a handkerchief to avoid him. But he purposely takes her away.

Episode 27

Dong Hua brings the handkerchief with him to a pond with Lian Song. A wind blows her into the water. Dong Hua retrieves it back and puts her on top of an incense burner back at his palace. Feng Jiu turns hot and sneezes from the fragrance. Ah Li pleads with Zhe Yan to get back the handkerchief from Dong Hua.

Feng Jiu refuses to transform herself back into human form. Dong Hua cooks her a fish knowing that she would be hungry. She appears only when she is sure he is gone. But the fish tastes awful with no improvement in Dong Hua’s culinary skills. Lian Song comes up with a plan to make Feng Jiu shows herself. He mentions about Cheng Yu being sick knowing that Feng Jiu would want to check on her.

Zhe Yan asks about the handkerchief from Dong Hua at Ah Li’s prodding. But Dong Hua is prepared and gives him another one to fend him off. Then Dong Hua purposely mentions to Feng Jiu that he will need to use her to clean his sword to prepare for his battle with Yan Chi Wu. This spurs Feng Jiu to transform herself when Dong Hua is asleep. But he is only pretending. Dong Hua transforms her back into a handkerchief and brings her along to his fight with Yan Chi Wu.

When the handkerchief comes loose during the fight, Dong Hua saves her from falling and encircles her with a shield to protect her. But a twister blows her and Yan Chi Wu off course and they fall into the opening of Fanyin Valley.

Episode 28

Yan Chi Wu thinks that Dong Hua is in love with Ji Heng. Feng Jiu is not too happy to learn that. They explore a way out but falls through to Jiazi Valley instead. They drop and knock down the Second Prince of the Inseparable King Birds clan. The Queen orders them to be imprisoned. But the prince helps to free them by telling the Empress that they are in Jiazi Valley to study. During the meeting, Yan Chi Wu notices a woman who looks like Ji Heng.

The Second Prince is Xiangli Meng. He saves them by telling a lie to avoid being punished for secretly trying to venture out of the valley. The valley is merely opened a crack once every 60 years. Only experienced immortals can open it anytime to enter. So, Feng Jiu and Yan Chi Wu are now stuck there and forced to attend classes. Feng Jiu keeps antagonizing the teacher with her lack of interest in her studies. Yan Chi Wu finally finds Ji Heng but she refuses to acknowledge her identity. She is now a musician in the valley.

There is an upcoming tournament with the prize being the magical fruit that could bring Ye Qing Ti back to life. But the teacher will vet the candidate list. Feng Jiu now has to get back into the teacher’s good books.

Dong Hua is worried that the Miaoyi Chasm that is holding Miao Luo might collapse. He tells Lian Song to plan for that eventuality. Dong Hua is scheduled to give a lecture at Fanyin Valley but a replacement is expected instead. Princess Jie Lu wants to set a trap to scare the replacement teacher. Meng asks Feng Jiu for ideas.

Episode 29

The teacher who turns up is Dong Hua. The students try to steer him away from the trap. Eventually, the person who falls in is their class teacher who becomes angry at Feng Jiu for being the main culprit. He wants to punish her but Dong Hua helps her out. Feng Jiu is not appreciative of his help as she is angry at him for leaving her in the valley for so long. Dong Hua transforms himself into a handkerchief to let Feng Jiu has her revenge to appease her anger.

Dong Hua meets Yan Chi Wu. He knows Yan Chi Wu is staying at the valley because of Ji Heng and agrees not to intervene in their relationship. Yan Chi Wu learns that Ji Heng always serves Dong Hua when he visits Fanyin Valley. He tells her that she doesn’t have to do so anymore but she insists that she owes him and it is none of his business. On the way home, Yan Chi Wu sees Dong Hua playing chess with Lian Song by using time-folding magic which allows him to be in 2 places at the same time. He then relates this to Feng Jiu.

This makes Feng Jiu mad as Dong Hua is not in the handkerchief. He has tricked her. She confronts Dong Hua and gives him back his handkerchief. Feng Jiu also tries to steal the magical fruit as she couldn’t join the tournament. But she is scared away by the snakes guarding it. Feng Jiu also learns that Ji Heng is in Fanyin Valley. She assumes Dong Hua is there to see Ji Heng and not to save her.

Episode 30

Dong Hua gives a lecture on tea-making. Ji Heng is his assistant. Feng Jiu is forced to compete with Ji Heng on who could make a better cup of tea. Dong Hua judges Ji Heng to be the winner. Feng Jiu thinks he is being unfair. She confronts him and their exchange is quietly witnessed by Ji Heng.

Feng Jiu pries information from a drunken Meng that the snake guardians will leave the magical tree for a few hours during the full moon. She convinces Yan Chi Wu to steal the fruit together and share it afterwards. So, he digs a tunnel to the magical tree beforehand. Dong Hua knows what they are up to and changes the layout. Ji Heng is still trying to gain Dong Hua’s interest but is rejected.

The following night, Yan Chi Wu enters the tunnel but it has split into 3 paths. Feng Jiu waits for him above ground. When she couldn’t wait anymore, she ventures in. She follows one tunnel which leads her to see Dong Hua with a seductive woman as well as Ji Heng at another corner. Ji Heng is shocked and runs away in tears. Feng Jiu realizes the situation is not what it seems and stays. The woman is actually Miao Luo’s spirit.

A lost Yan Chi Wu bumps into a teary Ji Heng and sends her home. Feng Jiu battles Miao Luo’s spirit with Dong Hua’s help and defeats her. But Dong Hua suffers a cut on his arm and wants Feng Jiu to bandage it. After doing so, she wants to leave to steal the fruit but the area is now barricaded for 24 hours. The barricade has been triggered by Miao Luo’s presence. They couldn’t leave and end up falling asleep next to each other.

Episode 31

Feng Jiu is feeling cold and sick after the battle. Dong Hua takes care of her. When she awakes, she sees Ji Heng outside his door. She asks Dong Hua how he would explain to Ji Heng her presence in his room late at night. Dong Hua is nonchalant about it. When he goes to bring Feng Jiu her medicine, she leaves through the window. Feng Jiu then tells Yan Chi Wu about it. He thinks Dong Hua is trying to hurt Ji Heng with his aloofness towards her.

Dong Hua knows Miao Luo has used the soul locking jade to form her incarnation to attack him. She is also smug that she has found Dong Hua’s weakness which is Feng Jiu. He seals up her incarnation.

Dong Hua wants Yan Chi Wu’s room because it shares the same courtyard with Feng Jiu’s. Yan Chi Wu is happy to move to Dong Hua’s residence because it is next to Ji Heng’s. But Ji Heng is not happy about it. Feng Jiu hears from Meng his clan’s taboo story about Aranya and Shen Ye. Aranya is the clan’s princess and Shen Ye cut off 3 seasons in the valley because of her.

Ya Chi Wu confides his love problems to Meng. He has the idea to pair Feng Jiu and Dong Hua together so that he will have a chance with Ji Heng. When Dong Hua intervenes to allow Feng Jiu to join the school tournament, Yan Chi Wu begins to praise him to soften her heart. However, he also feels guilty over the underhanded tactic until Jie Lu tells him that Feng Jiu does like Dong Hua. Feng Jiu wants to arrange a meal together to help Yan Chi Wu get close to Ji Heng.

Episode 32

During the meal, Ji Heng serves Dong Hua soup which makes Yan Chi Wu unhappy. Then Feng Jiu offers to make desserts for Yan Chi Wu which causes Dong Hua to feel slighted. The meal becomes awkward for everybody.

At night, a demonic force tries to enter the mind of a sleeping Feng Jiu. Dong Hua prevents it. Then it seeks out Ji Heng. The demonic force is Miao Luo who takes advantage of Ji Heng’s love for Dong Hua to possess her. Her plan is to get the magical fruit to create distrust between Dong Hua and Feng Jiu. The next day, Ji Heng convinces Yan Chi Wu to join the tournament to get the magical fruit. Yan Chi Wu informs Feng Jiu of his intention. But he still agrees to share the fruit if he wins.

Dong Hua becomes Feng Jiu’s trainer for the tournament. She has to keep practicing moving on ice beams without falling off. Once, when she slips and falls, Dong Hua rushes towards her. She ends up biting his lip. Yan Chi Wu is also busy training for the tournament with Ji Heng by his side. Jie Lu tells Yan Chi Wu that Ji Heng is probably getting close to him because Dong Hua is ignoring her. But Yan Chi Wu doesn’t seem to get the message.

Meng’s cricket has died and he is devastated. The cricket is from a Qing Qui princess who has saved him once. Meng has been in love with this princess ever since although he has not seen her veiled face. Yan Chi Wu asks Feng Jiu to comfort Meng together. Feng Jiu then learns that the princess Meng is in love with is herself. But she keeps her identity from him.

Episode 33

Dong Hua is watching Feng Jiu chatting happily with Yan Chi Wu after comforting Meng. The next morning, Dong Hua seems angry with Feng Jiu for going out the night before. He makes her train hard for her competition. Ji Heng is also training Yan Chi Wu in music. She purposely scratches his hand to apply her magic to control him.

At night, Dong Hua helps Feng Jiu to apply ointment to her bruises. They argue for a while until Feng Jiu finds out that Dong Hua has protected her with his valuable shield to keep her safe. They banter around and tease each other until it gets a little too intimate. Feng Jiu puts a stop to it and goes to sleep. Lian Song plants doubts into Dong Hua’s mind about Feng Jiu’s close relationship with Yan Chi Wu. Both Feng Jiu and Dong Hua start to wonder about each other’s feelings. Feng Jiu thinks Dong Hua might be using her to make Ji Heng jealous.

Feng Jiu passes the music competition despite being tested with a difficult tune by Ji Heng. Then the candidates move on to battle each other on ice beams. The last one who remains standing on a beam will be the winner. In the end, only Feng Jiu and Yan Chi Wu remain. As they fight each other, Ji Heng uses her magic to control Yan Chi Wu and makes him uncharacteristically aggressive.

Dong Hua realizes the magic is coming from Ji Heng and that she is possessed. He uses his powers on her and she faints. Yan Chi Wu is released from her control. Feng Jiu defeats him and wins the tournament. Then she sees Dong Hua carrying Ji Heng away.

Episode 34

Dong Hua forces the evil power out of Ji Heng ‘s body. She begs Dong Hua to give her the magical fruit to cure her Qiushui Cold Toxin. He agrees as he has never had the intention to let Feng Jiu obtain it. Yan Chi Wu overhears their conversation. Feng Jiu’s prize is thus exchanged with a basket of peaches instead which Lian Song delivered. Feng Jiu is utterly disappointed.

Ji Heng tells Feng Jiu that Dong Hua has agreed to give the fruit to her and that he merely treats Feng Jiu as a playmate. Feng Jiu is not only miserable because of Dong Hua. She is also depressed that she couldn’t save Ye Qing Ti. Feng Jiu then decides to use her powers and the shield given by Dong Hua earlier to try to steal the fruit. But she faces a tough battle with the snakes.

Lian Song convinces Si Ming to tell him Feng Jiu and Dong Hua’s story. Then he rushes back to relate to Dong Hua what happened from the time Feng Jiu first met him to her transformation into a fox and experience in the mortal world. By then, Feng Jiu has got trapped in Aranya’s dream when she reached for the fruit. Dong Hua volunteers to get Feng Jiu out even though he has to discharge most of his cultivation to enter the dream.

Ji Heng is disappointed that Dong Hua is willing to sacrifice himself for Feng Jiu. She tells Yan Chi Wu not to waste his affections on her as she loves Dong Hua. Jie Lu gets Yan Chi Wu to try to stop Meng from saving Feng Jiu. Dong Hua manages to get inside Aranya’s dream. Feng Jiu thinks she is dreaming and pulls him down for a kiss.

Episode 35

Feng Jiu becomes daring with Dong Hua as she thinks it is all a dream. But when Dong Hua tells her it is not, she appears confused. Feng Jiu has lost her recent memories and cultivation which is why she is not angry at Dong Hua. He tells her that she is already engaged to him to lower her guard against him. She is injured and weak. In order to heal her, Dong Hua has to put her in a recovery seal and remove her primordial spirit to absorb vitality from Aranya’s clan for a few months. She then enters Aranya’s dream. She is a toddler who lives among the snakes and saved by a boy named Shen Ye.

Lian Song says they can only wait for Dong Hua to come out of the dream although Meng is anxious. Yan Chi Wu goes back to the demons to ask for help. He tells Xu Yang that Ji Heng is in Fanyin Valley. The demons are gung-ho about a war with the immortals and are happy to hear that Dong Hua is stuck in Aranya’s dream. However, Xu Yang urges caution. Nie Chu Yin reports to Miao Luo about Dong Hua. She vows not to let him come out of the dream.

When Feng Jiu awakens, she is being addressed as Princess Aranya. She uses her wits to get information out of the maids about Aranya. Shen Ye recalls how he saved Aranya back when her family abandoned her and he gave her her name. But when he came out of seclusion after 20 years of cultivation, he learned that Aranya had been betrothed to his master, Lord Xi Ze.

Episode 36

Shen Ye created the dream world to remember Aranya who has been wronged. She is dead but there is a chance for her to be revived if her primordial spirit can be collected in the dream world.

Feng Jiu has to pretend she is Aranya. But Aranya loved snakes which Feng Jiu has a phobia of. Aranya favorite pet snake is Qing and she knows she will have to quickly overcome her fear if she doesn’t want her cover blown. Feng Jiu also finds out that Aranya’s husband is Xi Ze while the people she hates the most are Princess Ju Nuo and Chang Di. Dong Hua has also entered Aranya’s dream and has to look for Feng Jiu’s primordial spirit in her clan. He hears about Ju Nuo getting injured after falling from a horse and needs treatment. So, he takes over Xi Ze’s identity to treat her.

During treatment, Dong Hua finds out that Ju Nuo is pregnant and possibly hosting Feng Jiu’s primordial spirit. He needs to let Ju Nuo recover before he can retrieve it. Feng Jiu bumps into Shen Ye but she doesn’t know who he is. But he recognizes her as Aranya. Then Aranya’s master, Su Mo Ye, turns up. He is sent by Lian Song to look for her and Dong Hua. He could enter Aranya’s dream because his mother is the Empress Snake. Aranya was also his disciple. He is still investigating her death. Mo Ye informs Feng Jiu that the dream is someone’s creation. He wants her to help him find out how Aranya died which is also the way to get out of the dream.

The Empress is going to have her birthday banquet. Feng Jiu has to attend. Xi Ze is also invited.

Episode 37

Chang Di invites Xi Ze to attend the Empress’ birthday banquet. She also tries to put down Aranya but is told off. During the banquet, Feng Jiu is nervous to see that Qing has been brought to sit next to her. She escapes from the banquet and asks Mo Ye to cover for her. Mo Ye is introduced to Xi Ze but suspects that he is Dong Hua. He tells Feng Jiu that although Xi Ze was married to Aranya, he never lived with her. He is the former Archimage of Fanyin Valley while Shen Ye is the current one.

Mo Ye knows he has to hide Feng Jiu and Dong Hua’s identity from each other if he wants to find out how Aranya died. He misses her. Feng Jiu overhears Chang Di’s gossip with Ju Nuo about Xi Ze and Aranya. She purposely antagonizes them as revenge for Aranya. Then, Feng Jiu insists on staying in Mo Ye’s room to avoid the pet snake. Mo Ye hits her unconscious and carries her back to her room which catches Ju Nuo and Chang Di’s attention.

The next day, the 2 princesses want to embarrass Feng Jiu in front of Xi Ze but fail. Dong Hua is excited to see Aranya who looks like Feng Jiu. But Feng Jiu cannot recall him and sees him as Xi Ze. Feng Jiu then comes up with a plan to avoid Qing with Mo Ye’s help. This will involve tricking Chang Di to meet Xi Ze and falling into a hole with water. She needs Mo Ye to pretend to be Xi Ze. Dong Hua overhears the plan. He also meets Shen Ye who looks like him. Mo Ye and Feng Jiu dig out a hole to prepare for their plan.

Episode 38

Chang Di appears and falls into the hole when she tries to go near Mo Ye who is pretending to be Xi Ze. She is all wet. Mo Ye leads her to change her wet clothes into Feng Jiu’s clothes. Qing picks up Feng Jiu’s scent from her clothes and goes after Chang Di. She runs all the way to her parents with the snake chasing her before fainting from fear.

Dong Hua approaches Feng Jiu who is waiting for Mo Ye. She assumes he is Mo Ye and passes him a mask to wear as per tradition before setting out to watch the Yeuliang flowers. She talks to him about Aranya and asks him to admit that he loves Aranya but he denies it. Feng Jiu then tells him about the man she has deep affections for but cannot remember. When he pulls her close, she is suspicious about his identity and removes his mask to find that he is Xi Ze.

Dong Hua checks on Ju Nuo again and finds that Feng Jiu’s primordial spirit is not inside her body. Feng Jiu is caged up by the Emperor as punishment for letting Qing loose. Chang Di is dissatisfied with the punishment and moves her to a serpentine cage. Then a fire occurs at the prison. Shen Ye saves her and leaves her outside her residence. She tells Mo Ye about Shen Ye and Chang Di. Mo Ye tells Feng Jiu that she can find out the cause of Aranya’s death as long as she doesn’t go against Aranya’s major life choices. Dong Hua looks for Feng Jiu and sees her with Mo Ye.

Episode 39

Feng Jiu is chatting with Mo Ye as Dong Hua listens in. She says that she can empathized with Aranya and finds her pitiful since she was unloved and abandoned. Feng Jiu relates it to her own situation of having been severely disappointed by someone she loves although she only has vague recollection of the person now. She is also envious of Ju Nuo for having Xi Ze’s attention. As she falls asleep, Mo Ye wants to carry her back to her room. But Dong Hua appears to carry her away instead.

When she awakes, she is surprised to see Dong Hua in her room. She thinks he is Xi Ze and tells him he must have mistaken her for Ju Nuo. He says no and insists that she drinks some medicine that he has prepared. He has added his immortal blood to it to help her heal.When he asks her about the man she loves, she says that it is better that they don’t meet as they are not fated to be together.

Dong Hua meets with Mo Ye. They reveal each other’s identity and discuss how to get out of the dream. Dong Hua asks Mo Ye to take care of Feng Jiu as he attends to other matters. Lian Song assures Meng and Yan Chi Wu that Dong Hua will be able to save Feng Jiu and get out of the dream safely given his experience and wisdom. Yan Chi Wu also asks Jie Lu to try to find out the secret to Aranya’s dream.

A banquet to watch the stars are being organized. Shen Ye invites Feng Jiu and Mo Ye to attend.

Episode 40

Shen Ye keeps staring at Feng Jiu during he banquet and ignores Ju Nuo. Chang Di takes the opportunity to embarrass Feng Jiu for not knowing where Xi Ze is. But when Xi Ze turns up, he explains that he has gone to the mountains to obtain herbs for Aranya rather than Ju Nuo. He shows his concern and affections for her publicly which Feng Jiu finds strange. Shen Ye misses Aranya but finds that Feng Jiu is not her.

Feng Jiu confides to Mo Ye that she finds Xi Ze acting weird towards her with his concern. But Mo Ye continues to keep quiet that Xi Ze is Dong Hua. Ju Nuo and Chang Di try to frame Feng Jiu for committing adultery with Mo Ye. However, Mo Ye knows it is a scam when he sees the note supposedly from Aranya asking for an illicit meeting with him. Together with Dong Hua, they turn the tables on them. The person whom they eventually find in bed with an unconscious Feng Jiu who has been poisoned by them earlier is Xi Ze. The Emperor punishes Ju Nuo and Chang Di by having them grounded.

Then, news suddenly emerge that Ju Nuo will be executed for adultery. She has been having an affair with her teacher and gotten pregnant. Chang Di is banished to the wasteland for breaking a lamp. The incidents are suspicious and sudden. Ju Nuo’s punishment is actually Dong Hua’s doing. He requests Mo Ye to take care of Feng Jiu and adds his daily dose of blood to her food while he goes back to the immortal palace. But Mo Ye thinks he can’t have Ju Nuo die and only Feng Jiu can save her. Ju Nuo is actually the Emperor’s brother’s daughter.

Episode 41

Mo Ye wants Feng Jiu to follow Aranya’s choice and save Ju Nuo. Aranya did it to save Shen Ye as she loved him while Shen Ye was trying to save Ju Nuo who was betrothed to him and also his cousin sister. In the end, Ju Nuo was saved but stripped of her royal status and banished. Shen Ye was ordered to leave the palace. Aranya asked the Emperor to allow Shen Ye to stay at her palace instead but the latter misunderstood her good intentions.

For the execution, Ju Nuo’s blood will be smeared on the White Tiger Sword. This will free the animal to swallow her whole. Mo Ye wants Feng Jiu to cut her hand and smear it with her blood to lure the tiger back into the sword to save Ju Nuo.

Empress Qing Hua requests help from Shen Ye to save her daughter. But he is unsure if Feng Jiu will do what Aranya did. He is also curious of Xi Ze who seems different from the past.

On execution day, things happen as before. Shen Ye wonders why Feng Jiu did what Aranya had done. When Feng Jiu cuts her hand and her blood trickles down the sword, Miao Luo is also alerted of her Red Qi. She has hidden it in an unborn baby during her defeat to Dong Hua. That baby is Feng Jiu. Once she obtains the Red Qi, she will be able to break free.

Miao Luo uses her incarnation to get to Fanyin Valley and summons up Feng Jiu’s body which Dong Hua has sealed up. Dong Hua is having a battle with Miao Luo when the Feng Jiu from Aranya’s dream sees her own body in the seal. She is then sucked back into the body.

Episode 42

Feng Jiu awakens to see Dong Hua and Miao Luo fighting. She can now remember Dong Hua. Her primordial spirit is back in her own body. Dong Hua uses his body to shield Feng Jiu from Miao Luo’s attack. The duel continues as they move further away from Feng Jiu. She follows a blood trail that leads her to a cave. Feng Jiu finds Dong Hua there. He kisses her when he sees her. He has lost some blood due to his injuries and wants Feng Jiu to bandage him up.

Dong Hua explains that he didn’t want Feng Jiu to have the magical fruit because he was jealous. He thought she wanted to use it to make desserts for Yan Chi Wu. They reconcile and he assures her that he stepped into Aranya’s dream to be with her and will tell her everything when they step out of it. However, Dong Hua finds it odd that Aranya’s body has disappeared when Feng Jiu’s primordial spirit returned to her own body. He thinks there is a connection between Aranya and Feng Jiu. He will need the Miaohua Mirror to find out Aranya’s past and present to find the connection.

Dong Hua tells Feng Jiu that they will have to continue to pretend to be Aranya and Xi Ze respectively. The maid informs Feng Jiu that Shen Ye has moved in but he seems to know his way around although he hasn’t been in the palace before. Mo Ye is surprised to hear that Aranya’s body has disappeared and feels that he is getting bewitched in the dream. Dong Hua is crafting the Miaohua Mirror.

Episode 43

Mo Ye passes Feng Jiu a bundle of letters to be sent to Shen Ye periodically. Aranya used to write to him and signed off under Wen Tian’s name. Wen Tian is a teacher in the imperial college. Shen Ye was constantly in a bad mood then and Aranya didn’t want him to feel that she was doing it out of sympathy. Aranya loved Shen Ye deeply. Thus, Feng Jiu starts sending those letters that Mo Ye has prepared.

Mo Ye asks Dong Hua how he and Feng Jiu could fall into Aranya’s dream at the same time. Dong Hua admits that he loves Feng Jiu and that is why he is in the dream. He also asks Mo Ye to help with the crafting of the Miaohua Mirror to find out Aranya’s life. Jie Lu begs the Empress to reveal the secret of Aranya’s dream but she refuses because it concerns the reputation of their royal family.

After several rounds of letters, Shen Ye is confused if Feng Jiu is really Aranya. This is because the contents of the letters and handwriting are the same as the ones he had received from Aranya before. When the time comes for them to meet, Feng Jiu arranges for Wen Tian to see Shen Ye. Then, the time has come for a misunderstanding when Shen Ye found out that the letters were not written by Wen Tian. Shen Ye confronts Feng Jiu as per his past experience with Aranya. He could tell then that Feng Jiu is not Aranya. He becomes depressed that nothing has changed in the dream world except for Aranya.

Feng Jiu couldn’t sleep at night. She thought of checking out Shen Ye but when she opens the door, Dong Hua surprises her.

Episode 44

Dong Hua beautifies the surroundings to surprise Feng Jiu. He also gives her a token of affection which is normally given by a god to his goddess. They go on a date and have a loving time together. Dong Hua tells Feng Jiu that he will marry her when they get out of Aranya’s dream. He kisses her.

During their date, Dong Hua notices Miao Luo. She is wearing a mask. Miao Luo lures him away from Feng Jiu. They battle each other but Dong Hua manages to chase her away. Before Miao Luo leaves, she vows to get back her Red Qi. Feng Jiu is annoyed that Dong Hua leaves her to follow another woman. She doesn’t know that the masked woman is Miao Luo. Dong Hua also keeps quiet to avoid alarming Feng Jiu.

When Feng Jiu returns home, she has to calm down a drunken Shen Ye. He tells Feng Jiu that she is not Aranya. He didn’t tell Aranya his true feelings then and regretted treating her coldly. When Shen Ye wants to touch Feng Jiu’s face, Dong Hua appears and immediately makes him fall asleep.

Feng Jiu finds herself having similarities with Aranya. Dong Hua advises her not to care about Shen Ye too much because the dream is not the real world. He asks her to trust him but she reminds him that he had just left her on the street moments ago. Feng Jiu doesn’t want to leave the dream because she is afraid Dong Hua wouldn’t care about her when they get out. Dong Hua is worried that Miao Luo is getting stronger. They will need to get out of the dream quickly. Shen Ye knows he has to tread carefully because this is his last chance to collect Aranya’s primordial spirit.

Episode 45

Dong Hua moves into Feng Jiu’s room. He always wants to make her happy and she enjoys the attention. Shen Ye learns that Xi Ze and Feng Jiu enjoy an intimate relationship. He is confused why there are so many changes in the dream world. Dong Hua goes back to craft the mirror after spending a few days with Feng Jiu and asks Mo Ye to take a rest.

Mo Ye relates to Feng Jiu the story of Aranya and Shen Ye. They finally confessed their feelings for each other after Shen Ye saved Aranya from a beast. Mo Ye left Fanyin Valley after that. Feng Jiu could guess that Mo Ye did so because he has feelings for Aranya and couldn’t bear to see her together with Shen Ye.

But 2 years later, the Emperor died due to illness. His son succeeded him but he also died very shortly after during a war. Aranya was supposed to be next in line to the throne. But Ju Nuo succeeded her brother instead. Rumors also surfaced that the Emperor was poisoned by Aranya. Shen Ye didn’t help her. Mo Ye was told Aranya hanged herself to death.

Jie Lu finally got answers from the Empress. Aranya is the Empress’ younger sister. They love the same man and were manipulated by their mother whom the current empress later imprisoned. In the end, the love triangle resulted in a tragedy where all of them failed to get what they want and Aranya’s dream was created because of the man’s obsession. The Empress knows the man’s powers cannot match Dong Hua’s and hence, he should be safe. Lian Song sighs when he hears the story. It is not that Dong Hua cannot get out. He chooses to stay because of love.

Episode 46

Mo Ye informs Feng Jiu to make arrangements for Shen Ye to meet Ju Nuo before she is banished from the capital as per the Emperor’s orders. So, Shen Ye meets Ju Nuo by the riverside but disappoints her as to why he saved her. He did so not because he has feelings for her but because it was to repay his gratitude to her father. After the meeting, Feng Jiu pushes Shen Ye to reveal his feelings for Aranya. He finally caves him and hugs her.

At the same time, Dong Hua can’t wait to see Feng Jiu. When he arrives at the riverside, he sees Shen Ye hugging Feng Jiu. He is disappointed and turns around. Feng Jiu tells Shen Ye that he shouldn’t have hidden his feelings for Aranya and confirms to him that she isn’t Aranya. She just feels sorry for her. Then, she notices Dong Hua and chases after him. She couldn’t find him and it starts to rain.

Shen Ye misses Aranya and recalls happier times with her. Dong Hua walks in the rain for hours until he finds his way back Feng Jiu’s bed felling cold and wet. They talk things over. He is jealous of Shen Ye but he doesn’t blame her. Feng Jiu tells Dong Hua that he is overthinking. When she realizes that he is really jealous, she reassured him of her feelings with a kiss. They consummate their relationship that night.

Mo Ye is nearing completion of the mirror and sends a note to Dong Hua to help with the last step. Dong Hua burns the note and agrees with Feng Jiu to go on a date.

Episode 47

Dong Hua brings Feng Jiu to the site where they entered the Aranya’s dream to look for clues. She learns that Dong Hua has discharged 90% of his cultivation when he entered the dream to be with her. However, they couldn’t find anything from the site and Feng Jiu will have to continue living Aranya’s life. When they return home, Dong Hua can sense that Miao Luo is following them. Feng Jiu notices Mo Ye’s letter to Dong Hua about completing the crafting of the mirror. She encourages Dong Hua to return to his duties and promises to maintain her distance with Shen Ye.

Empress Qing Hua meets up with Shen Ye and wants to know if he will be joining her to rebel against the Emperor. Shen Ye requests a meeting with Feng Jiu. He shows her the glaze lamp that he has been using to collect Aranya’s primordial spirit. He wants to bring her back to life to make amends for his mistakes. Miao Luo appears and Shen Ye tries to kill her. He knocks the lamp onto the floor. Aranya’s primordial spirit enters Feng Jiu’s body.

Feng Jiu now has Aranya’s memories. She can see Aranya’s love for Shen Ye as well as the pain. When the Emperor died, Shen Ye left her without saying goodbye and re-entered the palace on the heir’s orders. Aranya had never hated Shen Ye. She only felt regret. Aranya was then arrested for murdering the Emperor. Shen Ye misread the situation and Aranya thought he gave up on her. Empress Qing Hua then arranged for the war to happen with a neighboring clan.

Dong Hua and Mo Ye complete the crafting of the Miaohua Mirror. They began to see Aranya’s past life and how she met Shen Ye as a toddler.

Episode 48

Empress Qing Hua refuses to hand over Aranya to Shen Ye as promised after helping her following the rebellion. He pretended that he wanted Aranya as revenge for imprisoning him at her palace. He cannot show his true feelings as the palace was then controlled by the empress. So, Shen Ye asked her to grant him the wish to marry Wen Tian. They then cooperated to fling a note into Xi Ze’s residence to get him to help Aranya. Shen Ye had changed his handwriting in the note in case it gets intercepted.

Xi Ze rescued Aranya from prison. But she thought that the note couldn’t have come from Shen Ye because he hated her. When she learned that her brother had been tricked by Empress Qing Hua to handle a war with another clan to get rid of him, she decided to take his place. Aranya got Xi Ze to get her brother out of the battlefield. Then she used her cultivation to turn into a fiery phoenix to kill all the enemy soldiers as well as herself.

When Shen Ye heard that Aranya had died in the war, he was angry and sad. Empress Qing Hua wanted to kill him. In return, Shen Ye wanted wipe out everybody. Xi Ze appeared to stop him. He convinced Shen Ye that Aranya could be brought back to life by using a magical lamp to collect back her primordial spirit. Shen Ye used all his powers to cut off 3 seasons in Fanyin Valley to leave it with only a cold winter in the name of Aranya.

Mo Ye realizes that he has misunderstood Shen Ye all along. As to why Shen Ye had such powers, they find out through the mirror that he is related to Dong Hua.

Episode 49

Shen Ye is Dong Hua’s shadow’s reincarnation. When Dong Hua went to the mortal realm for his trials, his shadow had been cast into Fanyin Valley to deter Miao Luo as per Lian Song’s plan. This gave birth to Shen Ye. Simultaneously, Feng Jiu had requested Xie Gu Chou to cast her shadow to follow Dong Hua in order to repay his kindness. Her shadow was reincarnated as Aranya. Souls born out of a shadow could never come back to life once they die. Hence, they have to make Shen Ye stop his obsession.

At the same time, Shen Ye convinces Feng Jiu to go through Aranya’s experiences in order for him to bring back Aranya to life. The Emperor dies and the war with the neighboring clan starts. Shen Ye wants Feng Jiu to transform into the fiery phoenix just like Aranya did. Dong Hua and Mo Ye appear just in time to stop her. They explain to Shen Ye that he and Aranya were born from shadows.

As Dong Hua leaves with Feng Jiu, they encounter Miao Luo. As they fight, Shen Ye commits suicide as he can never bring back Aranya to life. His primordial spirit enters Dong Hua’s body since they are related. With Dong Hua temporarily dazed, Miao Luo extracts her Red Qi from Feng Jiu before escaping. With Shen Ye’s death, they exit the dream but Feng Jiu is weakened.

The last item Miao Luo needs is the Blood Tear of the demons to escape Miaoyi Chasm. The demon clans are told to protect the Blood Tear from her. Dong Hua reassures Feng Jiu they will still be a couple in the real world. Ji Heng is sad to find them together. Lian Song will report back to the Heavenly King about Fanyin Valley.

Episode 50

The Empress of the Inseparable King Birds clan wants to stay in Fanyin Valley despite the potential catastrophe if Miao Luo breaks out of the Miaoyi Chasm. She wants to help to confine Miao Luo. Dong Hua gives her an instrument to rein the demon in. Jie Lu also wants to stay but Meng advises her not to as the clan still needs a leader.

Dong Hua thanks Mo Ye for his help. While Mo Ye is sad, it is also comforting to him that Aranya didn’t love the wrong man after all. Meng is shocked that the Qing Qiu Princess whom he loves is very different from the one in his imagination when Feng Jiu finally reveals to him her identity. He is sad and embarrassed. Yan Chi Wu and Lian Song comfort him. They encourage him to confess to Feng Jiu. Meng does so and they remain as good friends.

Dong Hua has sealed Shen Ye and Aranya’s primordial spirits in a tree. Together with Feng Jiu, they plant it in Fanyin Valley. Whether their fates will change aeons later will depend on heaven’s will. The Inseparable King Birds clan go to Miaoyi Chasm to purify Miao Luo’s dark energy by using the instrument given by Dong Hua. Miao Luo reaches out to Nie Chu Yun to quickly get the Blood Tear. But Nie Chu Yin will have to kill Xu Yang before he could retrieve it.

With the magical fruit, Ye Qing Ti will still need time to awaken. Feng Jiu is willing to transfer half of her cultivation to him for him to recover when the time comes.

Episode 51

Dong Hua and Feng Jiu return to the Sky Kingdom. Feng Jiu has to finish making her sword soon for the Weapon Hiding Ceremony which is part of the process for her to be Qing Qui’s monarch. Cheng Yu makes a bet with Lian Song on whether Dong Hua will help Feng Jiu with it. Feng Jiu has completed forging the sword but she still needs to make the case. Dong Hua only helps her to set a timetable to complete the task which suits Feng Jiu fine because she wouldn’t want to rely on him all the time.

Miao Luo kills the Inseparable King Birds clan who has been purifying her dark forces. But she is weakened and orders Nie Chu Yin to provide her with 100 demons a day for her to consume to regain her power. Nie Chu Yin is afraid that Miao Luo will not keep her promise to him and the demons will be weakened if she keeps consuming their kind everyday. He needs to find a way to trick other clans to satisfy Miao Luo.

Dong Hua is happy to have Feng Jiu with him at Sky Kingdom and is incredibly sweet towards her. But she still hasn’t told her family of her relationship with Dong Hua. On the Weapon Hiding Ceremony day, Feng Jiu has to prove her worth by defeating a formation set by Bai Zhi before she could proceed to place her sword in the Holy Mountain. Dong Hua attends the event with Lian Song. Bai Yi is surprised as Dong Hua rarely attend such events. Feng Jiu manages to defeat the formation. Nie Chu Yin suddenly appears and challenges Feng Jiu to a duel which he claims is part of Qing Qui’s rituals.

Episode 52

Nie Chu Yin defeats Feng Jiu. He thought he could extract a promise of a favor out of Qing Qiu with his victory. But Lian Song announces that Nie Chu Yin would also need to defeat her husband before he can get the promise as she is married. Dong Hua then steps forward as Feng Jiu’s husband. He easily defeats Nie Chu Yin but uses up a lot of his power to break the opponent’s sword.

Xu Yang is informed of suspicious activities revolving around Nie Chu Yin. He orders Yan Chi Wu to keep an eye on him. Yan Chi Wu happily complies when Xu Yang is agreeable to let him take care of Ji Heng. Nie Chu Yin reports to Miao Luo that he lost a duel with Dong Hua in Qing Qiu. He thinks Dong Hua is extremely powerful. Miao Luo then orders him to provide her with more demons to consume and to sabotage Dong Hua’s relationships with the demon clans. A few Demon Lords go missing.

Dong Hua discusses with Feng Jiu’s parents about their marriage. He will open up his holy Bihai Cangling site for the wedding. To get Bai Yi’s approval, he gives a promise of freedom for Feng Jiu to make her own decisions. Both Princess Zhi He and Ji Heng are heartbroken.

Nie Chu Yin tells Xu Yang to check out his palace if he is suspicious of him. Just then, Chong Lin arrives to give Xu Yang the wedding invitation. Xu Yang asks him to pass the message that there is a spy in their clan and he wants to hand over the Blood Tear to Dong Hua. Dong Hua and Feng Jiu spend sweet moments together at Bihai Cangling.

Episode 53

Dong Hua is happy being with Feng Jiu. Miao Luo wants to get the Blood Tear on Dong Hua’s wedding day. Ye Qing Ti is awake. Feng Jiu wants to transfer half of her cultivation to him but Dong Hua wants to do it on her behalf instead. But Feng Jiu insists that it is her duty to repay Ye Qing Ti.

Chong Lin reports to Dong Hua about Xu Yang’s message. Feng Jiu reassures her father that Dong Hua is treating her very well. Ji Heng sends a message to Dong Hua that she wants to see him. Her Qiushui Cold Toxin is getting more severe. Ji Heng begs Dong Hua to stop his marriage. Dong Hua has promised her late father to take care of her and she is using that promise against him. But Dong Hua refuses her request and sends her back to her brother.

Hence, Dong Hua didn’t turn up for his wedding banquet. Feng Jiu’s parents are unhappy as they heard that Dong Hua has been seen with Ji Heng. Dong Hua uses his cultivation to absorb Ji Heng’s toxin into his body. Xu Yang also gets Yan Chi Wu to take Ji Heng to a safe place. He still loves her as before.

Feng Jiu wants Chong Lin to take her to see Dong Hua for an explanation. When they meet Xu Yang, she learns that Dong Hua has indeed sent Ji Heng back and has gone to check on the Blood Tear. So, she leaves. Nie Chu Yin has stolen the Blood Tear and kills Xu Yang. Dong Hua ties Nie Chu Yin up but the Qiushui Cold Toxin is breaking out in his body. He then rushes to the Miaoyi Chasm with Chong Lin.

Episode 54

Feng Jiu returns to Qing Qiu feeling depressed. Zhe Yan takes her pulse and discovers that she is pregnant. Miao Luo still needs to seclude herself to regain her full cultivation. She makes Nie Chu Yin the new leader of the demon clans. Lian Song and Yan Chi Wu keeps the Fanyin Valley closed up to prevent the dark forces from escaping. Dong Hua enters the valley to find that the dark energy there would be hard to purify. He would have to defeat Miao Luo.

Cheng Yu drops by to comfort Feng Jiu. Zhe Yan gives Feng Jiu 2 pills – one to nourish the fetus and the other to abort. She takes one and decides to leave Qing Qiu and live without Dong Hua. Feng Jiu transfers half of her cultivation to Ye Qing Ti before leaving for the mortal realm. She asks Xie Gu Chou to inform her when it is time for Ye Qing Ti to become an immortal.

Jie Lu is prepared to fight alongside the immortals to defeat Miao Luo. With Fanyin Valley gone, she hopes her people can live in Qing Qiu as per Meng’s wish. Feng Jiu brings up her little son in the mortal world. The Fanyin Valley is about to open up. Dong Hua wants to use Bihai Canglin to seal up Fanyin Valley but the risk is high. He wants to see Feng Jiu one last time.

Feng Jiu returns for Ye Qing Ti’s immortal baptizing ceremony. It is a way for Dong Hua to get her to meet him. Yan Chi Wu encourages Miao Luo to kill Nie Chu Yin who has ambitions to take her place as the Demon King. He tells her that he will share Dong Hua’s secret if she does so.

Episode 55

Ye Qing Ti is officially an immortal. Dong Hua appoints him as the next successor of Tai Chen Palace to everyone’s surprise. Feng Jiu meets up with Dong Hua. But the misunderstanding persists. She still thinks he left her for Ji Heng. But Dong Hua tells Feng Jiu that she is always the most important person to him and forever will be his wife. He gives her a ring but she rejects it. Dong Hua’s heart aches for her. He orders Chong Lin to give the ring to Feng Jiu after his death.

Yan Chi Wu tricks Miao Luo that Dong Hua’s secret to his cultivation recovery lies in Fanyin Valley. Once she enters the valley, Yan Chi Wu will then seal up the crack to trap her there. Dong Hua will then use Bihai Canglin to seal up Fanyin Valley and open up the starlight ward to purify the dark energy. However, Yan Chi Wu fails to close up the crack and Miao Luo rises above it.

Feng Jiu hears from Xie Gu Chou that Dong Hua has appointed Ye Qing Ti as his successor. She demands answers from Chong Lin. Dong Hua is preparing to sacrifice himself to defeat Miao Luo. He brought Ji Heng back to the demon clan and transferred the Qiushui Cold Toxin from her body to his to prevent her from disturbing Feng Jiu. Dong Hua didn’t attend the wedding because he was keeping an eye on Miao Luo. He doesn’t want Feng Jiu to know because he wants her to live well without him. Chong Lin also gives her Dong Hua’s ring which is made from a part of his heart.

Feng Jiu is devastated to hear the truth. Dong Hua’s fight with Miao Luo begins.

Episode 56

Dong Hua risks his life to create the starlight ward to seal in Miao Luo. Both of them will battle each other to death inside the ward as it will never open as long as dark energy is present. Feng Jiu wants to see Dong Hua. They make their way there but nobody could enter the ward.

Dong Hua gets distracted by Feng Jiu’s presence. Miao Luo’s attack cause him to fall down into Fanyin Valley. Feng Jiu becomes desperate. She hits against the ward wall and it allows her in. It recognizes Dong Hua’s heart ring that she is wearing. Ye Qing Ti tries to pull her out but she resists. She jumps into Fanyin Valley. Dong Hua and Feng Jiu battle Miao Luo together. They are losing and Feng Jiu is bleeding from a wound. But her nine-tailed fox blood is able to cleanse evil spirits. This weakens Miao Luo.

Hence, Feng Jiu cuts herself further to smear her sword with her blood. Dong Hua stops her but she insists on being with him. They pierce Miao Luo with their swords smeared with her blood. She dies and vanishes. Both Feng Jiu and Dong Hua are severely injured and they are trapped in the ward. As they lay unconscious and bleeding, their blood flow through the grooves and meet up. The combination of their blood purifies all the dark energy and the ward breaks.

Ji Heng finally accepts Yan Chi Wu and realizes his importance in her life. Jie Lu’s clan is accepted to stay in Qing Qiu. Feng Jiu is still unconscious. Xie Gu Chou brings her son to see her. Dong Hua is shocked that he has a son. Feng Jiu awakens and the 3 of them are now a happy family.

Other Fantasy Romance Dramas

Apart from Eternal Love 2017 or Ten Miles Of Peach Blossoms which is such a hit, another xianxia drama that is closely related to it is Love And Destiny. To me, it is worth a watch as well. It is another epic tale although it doesn’t have the same level of popularity and views as Eternal Love 2017. A shorter drama would be Love Of Thousand Years which is a story about the undying love of an immortal towards a mortal princess. I’m not a fan of this one but there are plenty of others who enjoy watching the couple in the drama. So, you can check it out as well. 😀
