When I was young, I used to watch a lot of TVB dramas. Those were the days when shows like Heaven Sword And Dragon Sabre and Police Cadet captured the imagination of many viewers. Back then, TVB was the main source of Chinese drama series. Although there were also Taiwanese productions, the best dramas were still from Hong Kong. Our choice was pretty limited then as Korean, Japanese, and mainland productions were virtually unheard of.
But as technology improved and the world becomes much more inter-connected, we are now spoiled for choice when it comes to dramas. However, this brought about a new set of problems. Which one should we watch? Sometimes, it can be frustrating sitting through a 50-episode drama only to find that it is not worth your time at the end of it.
That is why I made the decision to start Drama Slot. This is a blog for me to write my personal review of dramas that I have watched to share with readers. For people out there who are looking for more details about a certain drama that they are considering watching, I hope my review can help them make a more informed decision whether they should go ahead. Although many websites are now streaming shows for free, picking the wrong drama to watch is still annoying because of the time wastage.
Furthermore, I have also discovered that there are not many English reviews of Chinese, Hong Kong, Taiwanese, and Korean dramas available online. There are much more reviews, information and discussions on these dramas in the Chinese language. So, I hope my blog can provide a little help to the English crowd who love these dramas but can’t read a word of Chinese.
My wish is for this blog to grow in time as I add more reviews on the dramas that I have sat through. I will also posts my thoughts on interesting issues arising from these dramas. Happy reading and do share your thoughts too in the comment section of each post!
