Well Intended Love Episode Summary

Well Intended Love (奈何BOSS要娶我) has been released since early 2019 but I have not watched it until now. I finally decided to pick it up as it has remained pretty popular throughout the year among viewers. Moreover, there is a season 2 to follow. So, I thought it would be good to watch this first to prepare for the sequel. Below is the episode summary from 1 to 20 for this mainland romance drama. I have the Well Intended Love review written up as well for those who are interested.

Episode 1

Xia Lin is a 21-year-old struggling actress. Ling Yi Zhou is a 29-year-old rich businessman who helms a large corporation called Ling Shi. Xia Lin meets Yi Zhou when she accidentally got into his car to go for an audition. She thinks he is her ride that she has requested. Xia Lin didn’t get the role. Instead, she finds out that her boyfriend, Jia Yan, has been cheating on her with a college mate, Qing Jing, on that day. When she faints, she gets admitted to hospital. Then, she is told that she has leukemia.

When Xia Lin finds out that there is a matching bone marrow donor in Yi Zhou, she goes all out to try to convince him to help her. While Yi Zhou doesn’t seem to show interest in helping Xia Lin, he also asks his security guards not to be harsh towards her. Finally, Yi Zhou agrees to be the donor but on the condition that Xia Lin marries him.

Episode 2

Yi Zhou tells Xia Lin that he is too busy to date and hence, his proposal for a marriage. He gives her a week to consider. Xia Lin’s friend, Jia Fei, informs her that there are 2 men in Yi Zhou’s life. One is Chu Yan, an artiste who could be gay. The other is his assistant, Wen Li, who is always by his side. Hence, they speculate that Yi Zhou wants to use marriage as a shield for his other relationships.

When Xia Lin attends a jewelry exhibition with Yi Zhou, she meets Chu Yan who doesn’t have a good impression of her. The misunderstanding is deepen when Chu Yan uses Xia Lin to get a blind date off his back. On the other hand, Xia Lin believes that Chu Yan thinks of her as a rival for Yi Zhou’s affections. Xia Lin also bumps into Jia Yan and Qing Jing during the exhibition. They try to bully her by wanting to buy the jewelry that she is wearing which is supposed to be the finale piece put up for sale. But Yi Zhou saves her from embarrassment and turn the tables on Jia Yan and Qing Jing by demanding that they apologize to Xia Lin.

On the way home, Grandma Ling calls. She is happy that Yi Zhou has a girl with him and wants to meet them. At the hospital, Xia Lin assumes that Yi Zhou wants to get married to make his grandmother happy. Xia Lin is also touched that Yi Zhou seems like a caring person and agrees to his marriage proposal. They agree to a 2-year marriage contract. They go head to register their marriage and see it as a deal that benefits both parties.

Episode 3

2 months later, Xia Lin is discharged from the hospital and moves into Yi Zhou’s home. An Ran, who is Yi Zhou and Chu Yan’s childhood friend, returns from overseas. She comes from a rich family and Chu Yan’s father wants his son to woo her so that the 2 families could combine their power to bring down the Ling family. However, Chu Yan is not interested and hence, not on good terms with his father.

An Ran is in love with Yi Zhou. Hence, she is not happy when Yi Zhou reveals that he has married Xia Lin. Chu Yan is also not happy because he thinks that Xia Lin has ulterior motives in marrying his friend. He is afraid that Yi Zhou would get cheated since he has no experience is relationships. Xia Lin begs for a spot in a red carpet event from her manager but is rejected. She wants her own career and doesn’t want to rely on Yi Zhou. At the same time, Yi Zhou has arranged for bodyguards to secretly follow and protect Xia Lin.

Since Chu Yan and Xia Lin belong to the same management company, they tend to bump into each other. As Chu Yan always show contempt for Xia Lin, her suspicion that Chu Yan is jealous and has feelings for Yi Zhou becomes stronger. This suspicion is heightened when she sees Yi Zhou leading a supposedly drunk Chu Yan to the toilet after dinner with Grandma Ling. In fact, Yi Zhou only wanted to warn Chu Yan to stop being harsh on Xia Lin. Jia Fei advises Xia Lin to test whether Yi Zhou is gay by making him drunk. But it is Xia Lin who ends up drunk after a drinking bout with Yi Zhou.

Episode 4

When Xia Lin wakes up the next morning, she has forgotten what transpired the night before. Yi Zhou gives Xia Lin a wedding ring to wear but she does not want to publicize their marriage as it will only create rumors. Xia Lin learns that Yi Shuang Shuang, a celebrity, is interested to pursue Yi Zhou. So, she helps Shuang Shuang to get close to Yi Zhou in exchange for a spot in the red carpet event. When Yi Zhou finds out what Xia Lin has done, he is angry for being taken advantage of.

Xia Lin apologizes to Yi Zhou and buys him a tie to make up for her mistake. She also learns that she had kissed him on the night that she got drunk which leaves her embarrassed. An Ran invites Xia Lin to go shopping with her and becomes unhappy when she discovers that Yi Zhou has given Xia Lin a credit card to spend on.

During the red carpet event, a fellow artiste pushes Xia Lin against the railing and mars her dress. Her hip is also bruised as a result. Yi Zhou learns of her predicament from Jia Fei and settles the dress issue for Xia Lin. He reminds her to come to him if she has a problem as he is her husband. But Xia Lin still fails to attend the event as her shoe’s sole broke. At home, Yi Zhou helps Xia Lin to apply ointment to her bruises. He also tells her that publicizing their marriage will solve her problem of getting jobs but she still refuses to do so. Yi Zhou agrees to keep their marriage a secret but on the condition that she has breakfast with him every morning.

Episode 5

Rumors about Yi Zhou and Shuang Shuang begin to circulate. Xia Lin advises Yi Zhou to start a social media account to combat the rumors. While out on a stroll, Xia Lin comes across a lost dog. She takes it home but Yi Zhou is against having pets. Xia Lin contacts the dog owner who turns out to be their neighbor. However, this neighbor hates Yi Zhou and intends to create trouble for him. He tells Xia Lin to look after the dog for him for a few days as he is away.

An Ran invites Xia Lin to go for a movie. However, An Ran didn’t show up but Chu Yan did. Chu Yan gets a sudden asthma attack and Xia Lin helps him to look for his medication. When Chu Yan asks Xia Lin what she wants in return for helping him, she only asks him to convince Yi Zhou to allow her to keep the dog. This surprises Chu Yan as he thinks Xia Lin would ask him to land her a role in a drama. But Chu Yan relates to Xia Lin that Yi Zhou does not like pets because his father had disallowed him to have one and was taught to be cold when he was young.

Xia Lin and Yi Zhou happen to share the same birthday. On that day, An Ran tricks Yi Zhou into coming for a birthday treat but Yi Zhou chooses to leave. His neighbor tells An Ran that he can help her to get Yi Zhou. Xia Lin is a little jealous when she finds out that Yi Zhou has been with An Ran. But she is surprised when Yi Zhou did prepare a gift for her. They end up baking a cake together and sharing a kiss.

Episode 6

Jia Fei’s lease is up. Xia Lin suggests that she moves into her home to Yi Zhou’s chagrin. But Wen Li gets the hint from his boss and asks Jia Fei to move into his house instead. Xia Lin returns the dog to her neighbor who introduces himself as Ah Nan. He invites her in and they have a chat. She also cooks for Ah Nan since he is sick.

Xia Lin obtains a supporting role in a project and needs to stay with the crew for filming. The project is under An Ran’s family’s entertainment company, Xia An. An Ran instructs a fellow artiste, Lu, to try to get close to Xia Lin and starts a rumor. Chu Yan is also at the site and helps to protect Xia Lin as a favor for Yi Zhou. Hence, Chu Yan keeps turning up to spoil Lu’s plan. In return, Lu secretly films an interaction between Chu Yan and Xia Lin when they seem close together.

Yi Zhou hears of Lu’s exploits from Chu Yan. He also asks Wen Li to find out Xia Lin’s interests from Jia Fei. Then, Yi Zhou goes to Xia Lin’s filming location and brings her a dog. He makes An Ran to abandon the filming project and get rid of Lu. Yi Zhou brings Xia Lin to a resort for a break. When he wants to tell Xia Lin the truth about her leukemia, she has already fallen asleep. The next morning, a commotion outside their room forces them to stop their intimacy. Debt collectors are harassing a worker, Tong Tong. Feeling pity for her, Xia Lin takes her in as her assistant. When she goes back to the filming location, a phone call comes through that Yi Zhou has been involved in an accident.

Episode 7

Yi Zhou suffers a concussion as a result of the accident and lost part of his memory. He cannot remember who Xia Lin is. An Ran takes advantage of the situation and helps to take care of Yi Zhou. This makes Xia Lin jealous. Xia Lin tries numerous ways to get Yi Zhou to remember her but to no avail. She begins to find herself falling for Yi Zhou and feels sad that he has forgotten about her.

Xia Lin bumps into Ah Nan while walking her dog. She relates her predicament to Ah Nan who advises her to leave to save herself from misery. Jia Fei moves into Wen Li’s home. She still thinks that he is gay and is in love with his boss. Rumors begin to fly about Chu Yan and Xia Lin when photos of them together are uploaded online. Yi Zhou isn’t happy about it while Xia Lin gets scolded by her manager.

When Yi Zhou gets discharged from hospital, he arrives home to find a dog around. He quarrels with Xia Lin over it. Yi Zhou has no recollection that the dog is his gift to Xia Lin.

Episode 8

Xia Lin seeks out Chu Yan for advice on how to woo back Yi Zhou. Chu Yan begins to find Xia Lin to be kind of cute. However, Chu Yan’s ideas fail to work for Xia Lin. Lin Shi is having a charity run with the participation of celebrities. Shuang Shuang decides to allocate a spot for Xia Lin for voicing support for her over An Ran when colleagues are gossiping about Yi Zhou’s love life. She also assumes that Chu Yan is interested in Xia Lin.

Yi Zhou decides to attend the event at the last minute with An Ran. His close relationship with An Ran makes Xia Lin angry while Yi Zhou is also not happy that Xia Lin is getting close to Chu Yan. They end up trying to make each other jealous over dinner. Jia Fei advises Xia Lin to seduce Yi Zhou as a last resort. So, Xia Lin wears a lingerie and enters Yi Zhou’s room. However, he is working and chases her out of the house and locks the door. Xia Lin ends up going over to Ah Nan’s house. He advises her to leave Yi Zhou but Xia Lin briefly explains that Yi Zhou is not only her husband but also her savior.

By the time Xia Lin gets back home, it is already very late. She cries when she sees Yi Zhou and complains that he no longer cares for her. Yi Zhou is a bit taken aback to see Xia Lin so upset and tells her that he actually doesn’t hate her that much.

Episode 9

Xia Lin’s behavior softens Yi Zhou’s attitude until he overhears her phone conversation with Ah Nan that she is only acting to diffuse his anger. The next day, she tries to apologize to Yi Zhou but finds that An Ran has dropped by their home to be with him again. An Ran boils Yi Zhou some soup but Xia Lin quietly finishes it for her out of anger. Then, Xia Lin ends up sleeping the whole day which arouses Yi Zhou’s suspicions. He also notices An Ran’s pendant which looks familiar.

Yi Zhou orders for an investigation and finds out that An Ran has been lacing his food with sleeping pills. She has also arranged for a hypnotist to block Yi Zhou’s memory of Xia Lin immediately following his accident. Yi Zhou confronts An Ran about her evil scheme and tells her to stop. Meanwhile, Chu Yan’s father thinks that Xia Lin is interested in his son. He warns her to stay away. Chu Yan arrives to quarrel with his father and Xia Lin gets hit in the commotion. Yi Zhou also appears and angrily tells Chu Yan’s father that Xia Lin is his wife.

Xia Lin confesses her feelings for Yi Zhou. With Yi Zhou having recovered his memory, their contract marriage turns into real love and Xia Lin moves into his room. During a game show, Xia Lin’s mission is get someone on her contact list to say I love you to her. Her phone happens to ring and it is from Yi Zhou.

Episode 10

Through the game show, everyone now knows that Xia Lin is in a relationship with Yi Zhou. Shuang Shuang is mad at her for hiding the fact. But more people are now trying to offer Xia Lin jobs because of Yi Zhou. Reporters are also interested in her love story. A brand launching requires Xia Lin to fly to Beijing for a few days. Chu Yan is also there. During the event, Ah Nan turns up and secretly spikes Xia Lin’s drink which causes her to feel unwell. Chu Yan takes care of her until Yi Zhou arrives. Yi Zhou has purposely altered his schedule to see Xia Lin in Beijing.

At the hotel, Yi Zhou bumps into Ah Nan. They know each other but are not on good terms. Ah Nan tells Yi Zhou that Chu Yan has been seen entering Xia Lin’s room. When Yi Zhou meets them, Xia Lin stops Chu Yan from telling Yi Zhou what happened as she doesn’t want him to worry. Yi Zhou accompanies Xia Lin on a date and they spend some happy time together in Beijing.

When Xia Lin returns home, she goes to see a doctor as she has been unwell. She is afraid that she will have a relapse of her leukemia. Her doctor requests for her previous medical records. Xia Lin finds them in Yi Zhou’s safe. But the report says that all she has is anaemia and not leukemia. Yi Zhou has cheated her and he did so because he wanted her to come to him. However, Xia Lin is devastated that Yi Zhou has resorted to trickery which took away her dreams. She faints as she moves away from him.

Episode 11

When Xia Lin awakens, she finds that Yi Zhou has disallowed her from leaving the house. Yi Zhou explains that he has fallen in love with her for a long time. They met 2 years earlier at the cake shop and half a year later, they bumped into each other again when he was drunk. Yi Zhou took the chance to mislead her on her sickness in order to get close to her. But Xia Lin finds his love too selfish. She is also unwilling to let her life to be manipulated and controlled by him in this way.

Xia Lin moves out of their marital home and refuses all the jobs that are linked to Yi Zhou’s company and influence. She needs to borrow money from Jia Fei to rent back her old place. Chu Yan finds out about Xia Lin’s situation from Tong Tong. He confronts Yi Zhou and punches him for manipulating Xia Lin’s life. Yi Zhou also accuses Chu Yan of having feelings for Xia Lin.

Xia Lin takes up a job as a salesperson but quits after a day as she suspects that Yi Zhou is sending customers her way. Chu Yan drops by her place to tell her that he has hit Yi Zhou to teach him a lesson. He also offers Xia Lin a job. Xia Lin sees Yi Zhou outside her apartment but ignores him as Chu Yan is around. Yi Zhou continues to stand there when it rains before going home to get drunk.

Episode 12

Grandma Ling advises Yi Zhou that a relationship must be based on sincerity. The job offer by Chu Yan to Xia Lin is actually a ruse for her to get out and destress. They end up cycling and having a good time. Yi Zhou goes to see Xia Lin and tells her that he will change for the better although she may not forgive him. He brings her breakfast every morning and secretly accompanies her in her job to distribute flyers.

When Xia Lin is called up for an interview, her drink is spiked to make her feel drunk and hot. This is a set up by Ah Nan and An Ran. Chu Yan receives an anonymous message to get Xia Lin. A secret camera is recording the activities in the room. In a dazed state, Xia Lin hits on Chu Yan who admits that he likes her. But he stops short of taking advantage of Xia Lin. Chu Yan also informs Yi Zhou who arrives to take Xia Lin home. The next day, Chu Yan tells Xia Lin that he loves someone but dares not reveal that the person is her.

Both Yi Zhou and Chu Yan’s father are sent a copy of the clip. Yi Zhou asks Wen Li to keep it a secret from Xia Lin while they investigate. Chu Yan’s father gets angry and hits him which lands him in hospital. Yi Zhou demands Chu Yan’s father to release his son from his control by threatening to report his crimes. Chu Yan is hated by his father because his mother had abandoned them years earlier. Yi Zhou tells Chu Yan that he still regards him as his brother and trusts him although he knows Chu Yan is also in love with Xia LIn.

Episode 13

A fire broke out at Chu Yan’s hospital. He is reported to have died. Xia Lin is sad and so is Yi Zhou. Realizing that life is unpredictable and that she still loves Yi Zhou, Xia Lin decides to get back together with him. The police suspects arson and picks up an earring that belongs to Xia Lin which she has lost previously while out with Chu Yan. Pictures of Xia Lin with Chu Yan are also uploaded online. Yi Zhou bails Xia Lin out and is criticized online for protecting a murderer. Xia Lin tries to protect Yi Zhou’s reputation by taking on the cyberbullies herself which makes him happy.

Yi Zhou gets his own people to investigate the case. He suspects Tong Tong to be helping the real culprit. But Tong Tong pleads innocent. Xia Lin turns up during the interrogation and spells out all her suspicions about Tong Tong’s recent actions. Finally, Tong Tong admits that she is acting under An Ran’s orders. Meanwhile, Jia Fei is avoiding Wen Li as she is developing feelings for him.

Yi Zhou decides it is time to organize a press conference to clarify matters. It is announced that Yi Zhou and Xia Lin are married. But An Ran turns up with Tong Tong during the press conference to accuse Xia Lin as Chu Yan’s murderer. She plays the clip that has been secretly recorded of Chu Yan and Xia Lin in the interview room. But Yi Zhou and Chu Yan then appear together in the press conference.

Episode 14

Chu Yan was drugged in the hospital and kidnapped before the fire started. But he escaped and forced Tong Xiao You who was doing food delivery to give him a ride. Yi Zhou suspected that Chu Yan should still be alive as An Ran would not kill an old friend. So, they hatched the plot to try to draw out the culprit. An Ran is arrested but Tong Tong escaped. Yi Zhou believes An Ran is being manipulated by someone else who has not been caught.

Yi Zhou wants to have a baby but Xia Lin is reluctant. Jia Fei moves out of Wen Li’s apartment and back to the place she shared with Xia Lin previously. When the property agent comes by to sign their new sub-lease, they find out that the apartment has already been bought by Yi Zhou earlier. This angers Xia Lin as she feels that Yi Zhou is reverting to his old ways. But Yi Zhou promises her that he will change. Moreover, he bought the apartment not to control her but to ensure that she can live comfortably when she wanted to break off with him previously.

Chu Yan’s relationship with his father improves after the latter thought that his son has died earlier. His father hates Chu Yan’s mother for abandoning them and channelled the hatred towards Chu Yan. Xia Lin finds a woman stalking her while out shopping. She recalls bumping into the woman when Yi Zhou was hospitalized. She is also the woman in an old photo of a young Yi Zhou.

Episode 15

Xia Lin asks Wen Li to find out where Yi Zhou’s mother might be staying but to keep it a secret. Yi Zhou’s company is willing to invest in Jia Fei’s film. Chu Yan agrees to be her male lead. She asks Xia Lin to play Chu Yan’s love interest but Xia Lin is uncomfortable as she suspects that Chu Yan has feelings for her. She recalls what An Ran has told her during Chu Yan’s mishap earlier. Xia Lin confronts Chu Yan about it but he denies it. This makes Xia Lin more open to accept the role in Jia Fei’s film.

Chu Yan goes to see Xiao You to pay her as agreed for helping him to escape the kidnappers earlier. But he ends up helping her with her food delivery as her scooter has broken down. Wen Li finds out the whereabouts of Yi Zhou’s mother. Xia Lin goes to see her. Yi Zhou’s mother relates that she left because her husband had been too controlling. She left on Yi Zhou’s 8th birthday and he hates her for abandoning him. But she still pines for Yi Zhou. Xia Lin takes pity on her and allows her to cook for her son in his home while he is at work.

Yi Zhou comes home unexpectedly to find his mother in his kitchen. He gets angry and orders her to leave. Later, Yi Zhou apologizes to Xia Lin for raising his voice towards her. He also explains why he hates his mother. Xia Lin is understanding of his feelings. But Yi Zhou also surprises Xia Lin when he says that he is ready to talk to his mother. He tells Xia Lin that he no longer fears the deep wounds because he has her by his side.

Episode 16

Xia Lin invites Yi Zhou’s mother to visit them. Ah Nan also turns up at their house. Xia Lin finds out that Ah Nan is Yi Zhou’s stepbrother. Yi Zhou’s mother married Ah Nan’s father after her divorce and they moved abroad. Ah Nan threatens his stepmother to do as he says if she wants to keep Yi Zhou safe. Yi Zhou also warns Xia Lin to stay away from Ah Nan.

Chu Yan meets up with Xiao You again about the money he owed her. This time, he ends up helping Xiao You escape from debt collectors. Wen Li drops by to visit Jia Fei. He kisses her to clear her misunderstanding that he is gay and in love with his boss. The reason Wen Li is so dedicated to Yi Zhou is because he owed the latter a debt of gratitude. News broke about Yi Zhou’s bad relationship with his mother. She comes out to defend her son. A company pulls out of a joint cooperation with Ling Shi because of the bad press surrounding Yi Zhou. This forces Yi Zhou to make a business trip.

Ah Nan tries to get into the good books of Xia Lin. During lunch, Xia Lin becomes nauseous and Ah Nan suspects that she is pregnant. However, Xia Lin hides her pregnancy from Yi Zhou as she intends to surprise him with the good news on his birthday which is the day he will come back from his business trip. The driver calls in sick that day and Xia Lin drives to the airport alone. But she gets abducted on the way there.

Episode 17

Yi Zhou and Wen Li find Xia Lin’s car but she is nowhere to be seen. Xia Lin has been locked up. When Tong Tong brings her food, Xia Lin requests to have her earrings back. But the earrings have a GPS locator inserted into them. When Ah Nan finds out about the earrings, he transferred her out of his house to another location. Yi Zhou and the police go on a wild goose chase to find the earrings having been dumped into a bin.

Yi Zhou then visits An Ran in the prison to try to find out the identity of the person behind the kidnap. But An Ran refuses to reveal who he is. With no information on Xia Lin, Yi Zhou tries to create news instead to get the kidnapper to establish contact. He is photographed being intimate with other women including Shuang Shuang. Then, he gets Chu Yan to bash him for added effect. Jia Fei gets angry over Yi Zhou’s antics and informs him that Xia Lin is pregnant with his child. Wen Li tries to calm Jia Fei down and confesses his feelings for her.

Yi Zhou’s own investigations points towards Ah Nan as the instigator. He goes to seek confirmation from An Ran who validates his suspicion. Yi Zhou then goes to see his mother as she is the link that could cause Ah Nan to behave this way. Ah Nan’s mother’s illness got worse before she died because she caught Yi Zhou’s mother and her husband being together. Ah Nan’s father has also abandoned him which he again blames on Yi Zhou’s mother. With the police having found Ah Nan’s hideout, he moves Xia Lin again.

Episode 18

On the way to the new location, Xia Lin makes an excuse to go to the toilet. She seeks help from a woman inside the toilet to inform the police. But Ah Nan knows her intention. He changes the car number plate and turns back to throw the police off their tracks. At the new hideout, Xia Lin tries to make use of Tong Tong to access her phone. But the plan fails when Ah Nan intervenes. Ah Nan’s plan is to toy with Yi Zhou and sees him miserable.

Ah Nan agrees to let Xia Lin have some color pencils and papers to draw in order to pass time. When he meets Yi Zhou, he brings one of the drawings to give it to him. Ah Nan knows there is a hidden message in the drawing and it is his way to lure Yi Zhou to the scene. When Yi Zhou arrives, Ah Nan points a gun at Xia Lin. What Ah Nan wants is to take revenge on his stepmother. The sweetest revenge would be to make Yi Zhou suffer because that would pained his stepmother even more. As for Yi Zhou, his weakest link is Xia Lin.

So, Ah Nan wants to kill Xia Lin but Tong Tong pushes him away at the last minute. He drops his gun and a fight ensues between Yi Zhou and Ah Nan. When Ah Nan manages to pick up the gun again to shoot Xia Lin, Yi Zhou blocks the shot. He wants to kill them both but the police have started to arrive. Ah Nan escapes and Yi Zhou then faints in Xia Lin’s arms.

Episode 19

Yi Zhou undergoes surgery but remains critical due to massive loss of blood. Later, his heart stops momentarily and he ends up in a coma. Xia Lin is sad but she has Jia Fei and Chu Yan to support her. During Yi Zhou’s absence, someone is buying up Ling Shi’s shares to take over the company and vote him out as the CEO. Chu Yan finds out about it from his father. He informs Wen Li who then warns Xia Lin.

Yi Zhou’s mother drops by to tell Xia Lin that she is working to get the shareholders to vote for her son. She asks Xia Lin to look for the shareholders list that Yi Zhou might be keeping in the house. But Xia Lin couldn’t find it. On the voting day, the shareholders vote to retain Yi Zhou. Chu Yan’s father also allows his son to vote for Yi Zhou despite his own family business being on the brink of bankruptcy as their father-son relationship improves.

Wen Li finds out that Yi Zhou’s mother has been working against Ling Shi. Xia Lin is also suspicious of her actions. So, Wen Li and Xia Lin contacted the other shareholders to act as their proxy. Yi Zhou’s mother is doing it for her husband who had been forced out of Ling Shi’s board years earlier by Yi Zhou’s father. Meanwhile, Tong Tong has been arrested and awaiting trial. Ah Nan is still not caught yet but a corpse has been discovered in the waters that resembles him. Yi Zhou finally wakes up from his coma. Chu Yan bumps into Xiao You at the hospital. She seems greedy for money earlier because her mother is suffering from cancer.

Episode 20

Chu Yan introduces Xiao You to Xia Lin. Xiao You can see Chu Yan likes Xia Lin and tells him so. But Chu Yan says that he is giving her up because she is now Mrs. Ling. After they leave the hospital, Xiao You is seen being forced into a luxury car. It is her father who wants her back after abandoning her and her mother when she was young.

Yi Zhou goes to see his mother to seek closure after recovering. Yi Zhou tells her that he doesn’t want to hate as he has a chance at happiness now. He leaves with a word for her to take care. Jia Fei wrongly assumes that Wen Li is seeing other girls behind her back. Wen Li accepts her apology and their relationship deepens. Ah Nan comes back to kidnap Xia Lin again. He sends a message to Yi Zhou to meet him. Ah Nan wants Yi Zhou to cooperate with him to take revenge against his mother now that he knows that the woman also has no love for her own son. But Chu Yan has called the police and they are rescued while Ah Nan is arrested.

Chu Yan tries to help his ailing father with the family business. He is forced to meet the daughter of another businessman in the name of business. But Xiao You appears instead and she too has been forced into a date by her father. It turns out that Xiao You is the woman Chu Yan is supposed to meet. On Yi Zhou and Xia Lin’s second wedding anniversary, they have a party at home. Wen Li proposes to Jia Fei then and she accepts. Xia Lin goes into labour. They have a son with Yi Zhou being the babysitter.
