Love And Redemption Drama Recap

Love And Redemption (琉璃美人煞) is the second Chinese costume drama with over 50 episodes that I have watched in a month after The Twin Flower Legend. This one has 59 episodes to be exact although I have read that there is a longer version. I’m not sure if it is just a rumor but personally, I would prefer a shorter version to avoid the risk of the drama ending up being dragged out which is typical for many mainland productions. Anyway, let’s hope this one would be worth investing my time on and the Love And Redemption review would follow next.

Episode 1

1,000 years ago, the King of Asuras led demons to battle the Heavenly Realm with the help of a powerful general called Star of Mosha Luohou Jidu. The demons were on the brink of victory when Star of Mosha suddenly disappeared. The Heavenly Realm had a savior in God of War who annihilated the demons. It was rumored that Star of Mosha died when he fell for God of War’s tricks. His soul was sealed in a crystal lamp and hidden in a secret ancient realm. But his primordial spirit was lost in the chaos.

1,000 years later, his primordial spirit shows signs of re-awakening with a presence in the City of Flames. Half of the primordial spirit is entering the Mortal Realm to undergo tribulation. Back then, God of War used Star of Mosha’s weapon, Juntian Chehai, to seal his soul up. The demon’s Tianxu Sect leader now needs the power of the God of War and Juntian Chehai to revive Star of Mosha. Coincidentally, God of War is also undergoing tribulation at the same time. The leader wants both of them captured.

When the demons break into the City of Flames to investigate where they may be reincarnated, an accident happens when those who are to undergo tribulation push each other to rush through the channel of karma. One of them falls into the water before getting through the channel to be reborn. She ends up as a stillborn but starts crying during her burial.

16 Years Later

Chu Xuan Ji is a lazy and weak cultivator who likes to sleep. She is born without the 6 senses which makes her slow and clueless. Her father is Chu Lei who is the leader of the Shaoyang Sect. Her twin sister is Chu Ling Long who tries her best to protect her from being bullied.

Yu Si Feng is a young but powerful cultivator belonging to the Lize Palace. Its members are made to wear a mask. He is sent to attend a tournament at the Shaoyang Sect. If he wins, he will be given the right to manage the affairs of Lize Palace. Si Feng is a stutterer.

Wu Tong of Dianjing Valley demands entrance into Shaoyang without an invitation badge. When Ling Long disallows him from entering, he bullies her and Xuan Ji. Wu Tong drops Xuan Ji from the sky onto the woods below. She is saved by Si Feng who is irritated with her weak cultivation.

Through Si Feng’s badge, Xuan Ji comes to know that he shares the same birth date as her. She gives him a cake but is turned away. Later, she meets him again in the peach blossom woods. Xuan Ji mistakenly hurts his spiritual pet snake which slithers away. When they try to look for it, they are trapped in a magic formation and end up in the secret realm of the Shaoyang Sect.

For some reason, Xuan Ji could open up the secret realm for Si Feng to find his pet snake. But he encounters a powerful dragon. Xuan Ji goes in to help him. She removes his mask when he is unconscious after being flung by the dragon. When she cuts her hand after being attacked, a drop of her blood is seen flying away.

Episode 2 – 6 : Friendships

Xuan Ji and Si Feng manage to get out of the secret realm alive through the help of his spiritual pet snake. Xuan Ji also picks up a mirror fragment which would give her images of a past battle with the demons. Her father punished her by sending her to Mingxia Cave for entering the forbidden area. She would be locked up there until they could find out the truth about how the barrier to the secret realm is broken. The previous Chief of the Shaoyang Sect had predicted an unfeeling person would be the initiator of the spiritual lamp and Xuan Ji seems to fit the description with her lack of feelings. Si Feng is also to be punished by his sect for losing his mask which is a big sin for Lize Palace.

Fighting The Gu Eagle

While in Mingxia Cave, Xuan Ji discovers that she has acquired the sense of taste. She is also released when her 6th disciple brother, Zhong Min Yan, manages to get her to be selected to join the up-coming event that involves the 5 main sects in the realm. The event will require them to defeat a demonic beast called the Gu Eagle. They need the eagle’s horn as an ingredient to make an incense that could make Xuan Ji shed tears. In return, Xuan Ji will open up the secret realm for Si Feng to get back his mask.

Min Yan, Ling Long, Xuan Ji, and Si Feng cooperate to try to capture the eagle. But it is too powerful and is about to kill all of them. A merman called Ting Nu tries to help them but unsuccessful. Ting Nu is injured as he has just escaped from the clutches of Tianxu Sect who has been prying for information on the spiritual keys. These keys are needed to get back the Juntian Chehai which is the weapon used to seal up Star of Mosha.

On the brink of death, Xuan Ji suddenly becomes extremely powerful and destroys the Gu Eagle in one strike. She then falls unconscious. Her powers are witnessed by Min Yan who tells her to keep quiet about it to avoid arousing others’ interests.

Saving The Merman

As Ting Nu is heavily injured, he is caught by the villagers. Si Feng decides to save him. Xuan Ji agrees and together with Ling Long and Min Yan, they save Ting Nu. In the process, the Tianyu Sect also wants to re-capture Ting Nu and takes the opportunity to test out Ling Long. This is because Ling Long’s birthdate coincides with the reincarnation of God of War and Star of Mosha. However, Ling Long does not seem to be the person that they are looking for as she lacks the powers to fight back even when she is being strangled to death. Min Yan and Si Feng arrive just in time to help them before Xuan Ji needs to use her powers.

Ting Nu rewards Xuan Ji with a pearl that will enable her to shed tears although it isn’t natural. But that is enough to avoid being locked up in Mingxia Cave again. Ting Nu also tells her that she will regain all her senses once she finds all the fragments of the Bahuang mirror.

The Ruthless Wu Tong

Wu Tong comes up with an underhanded tactic to defeat Min Yan during the tournament. His trick nearly causes injury to Xuan Ji who is watching from the ringside. Si Feng helps Xuan Ji and Ling Long to gain revenge. Min Yan joins them. The 4 of them have become friends. They set up a trap to ensnare Wu Tong in a mesh net. In the process, Si Feng drops a hairpin that is left to him by his late mother.

When Si Feng and Xuan Ji go to look for it the next day, Wu Tong has escaped from the net. He has taken the hairpin. He threatens to mar Xuan Ji’s face with it as he strangles her. Wu Tong makes Si Feng kneel to spare Xuan Ji. When the opportunity arises, Si Feng kicks him and and drags Xuan Ji away.

Xuan Ji dresses as a male servant with Ling Long to try to get the hairpin back. She enters the male bathing room to steal it from Wu Tong as she has no concept of shyness without her 5 senses. Si Feng is flabbergasted to hear what she has done. He helps her to apply ointment to a cut on her leg while escaping and then hides her with him on the bed when his roommates return. Si Feng is beginning to fall for Xuan Ji.

Back to the tournament, Si Feng defeats Wu Tong. When Ling Long teases him at the ringside, he lunges at her. Xuan Ji blocks it with her body and gets stabbed and pushed into the water. The Chief of Dianjing Valley kicks Wu Tong out as a disciple and gets the 5 sects to hunt for him.

Xuanyuan Sect

The Xuanyuan Sect is in decline and is the weakest among the 5 sects. Di Lang of the Tianyu Sect uses a pill to tempt Elder Ling Shi to give him information about the spiritual keys. The pill will help the sect’s disciple, Shi Feng, to win his matches in the tournament. In return, Elder Ling Shi reveals that the spiritual keys are held by 4 sects – Shaoyang, Fuyu Island, Dianjing Valley, and Lize Palace. As a result of the pill, the sect wins the tournament after Si Feng withdraws when Xuan Ji gets injured by Wu Tong.

Di Lang tries to pry around Shaoyang Mountain to find out about the spiritual key. He wants to enter the secret realm but is unsuccessful. But he finds out that it is being guarded by the Fire Dragon.

Si Feng Goes Back To Lize Palace

Si Feng has to leave to go back to Lize Palace before Xuan Ji awakes from her injury. He leaves Ling Long with a bell for Xuan Ji which will enable them to communicate from far away. Despite the odds, Xuan Ji surprises everyone with a fast recovery. During her time when she is unconscious, she dreams of a battle with Star of Mosha.

After returning to Lize Palace, Si Feng has to undergo punishment for losing his mask. His master and Chief of Lize Palace tries to save him but Si Feng refuses to lie that he has no feelings for Xuan Ji. The deputy chief and the other elders are pushing Si Feng to undergo the mandatory punishment at the Tower of Oblivion. The tower is a dangerous place that few could come out alive. The Chief orders that Si Feng be imprisoned for the time being instead.

In prison, Si Feng meets Brother Liu who has been there for 10 years. Brother Liu has a way to get out of the prison and occasionally escapes to see his daughter, Yu’Er. Lize Palace bans its members from falling in love and getting married which is the reason for the strict requirement of a mask. Brother Liu has promised the previous Chief to remain in the prison to protect his daughter.

Senior disciple of Shaoyang Sect, Hao Chen, informs Chief Chu Lei that his master, Heng Yang, is willing to take in Xuan Ji as a disciple. Master Heng Yang and Chief Chu Lei are disciple brothers. Xuan Ji agrees as she wants to strengthen her cultivation.

Episode 7 – 9 : In Training

Xuan Ji and Si Feng keep missing each other when one uses the bell to contact the other. She then follows Hao Chen to Xueyang Peak to undergo her cultivation training. To prevent distraction, Hao Chen keeps all of Xuan Ji’s belongings including the communication bell. As a result, Xuan Ji couldn’t freely contact Si Feng anymore. Hao Chen also tells her to forget about looking for the Bahuang Mirror fragments because it will cause her to be consumed by her inner demons. He seems to be a guarding Xuan Ji as she undergoes her tribulation in the Mortal Realm. He also gives her a parasol to be her magic weapon.

Wu Tong is hunted by the 5 sects and nearly loses his life when he is saved by the Tianxu Sect.

The Lover’s Curse Mask

Si Feng braves the burning River of Bitterness underneath the prison to look for a fragment of the Bahuang Mirror when Brother Liu mentions that he had seen it before. He got the fragment but hurt his skin in the process. Si Feng couldn’t contact Xuan Ji anymore as her bell has been kept by Hao Chen.

When Si Feng helps Brother Liu to escape from prison to look for his missing daughter, he is immediately sent to the Tower of Oblivion. It took him a year and much hardship to defeat the demons on each level to reach the top of the tower. The Chief and Deputy Chief want him to wear the Lover’s Curse Mask to let him out. This mask will encourage him to be devoid of feelings. If he experiences heartache, the curse will be activated and eventually, he will die after 3 times of being hurt.

Si Feng resists as he has been holding on to the hope of seeing Xuan Ji again. A misunderstanding arises when Xuan Ji rings the bell and immediately puts it down to avoid being found out by Hao Chen. But Si Feng could hear their conversation. He thought Xuan Ji loves Min Yan when she has no idea what love means. On top of that, they threaten him with Brother Liu’s life.

As a result, Si Feng decides to put on the mask. He feels love would only bring him pain. For the next few years, Si Feng trains and becomes an even more powerful cultivator. Brother Liu feels guilty as Si Feng had put on the mask to save him. He vows to look for a way to help him to take it off.

4 Years Later

Xuan Ji is now a much improved cultivator. She returns to Shaoyang Mountain before traveling with Ling Long and Min Yan to see Si Feng in Lize Palace. They come across some villagers looking for help to defeat a demon called the Quru Bird. At the same time, the Lize Palace is sending out its disciples to help the other sects to destroy some demons.

Di Lang is not making much headway in looking for the spiritual keys. Wu Tong steps up and tells the Tianxu Sect leader that Di Lang has got it wrong as one of the spiritual keys is, in fact, held by the Xuanyuan Sect in its Heavenly Pearl. But only the sect leader, Zhu Shi, knows where it is. The Tianxu Sect leader orders Wu Tong to head the school at Mount Buzhou and do whatever it takes to get the spiritual keys.

Unhappy Reunion

Xuan Ji, Min Yan, and Ling Long are trapped in a narrow opening between 2 mountain walls when hunting for the Quru Bird. They are attacked by a large number of birds. Ming Yan and Ling Long manage to fall to the ground but Xuan Ji is continuously being attacked. Si Feng saves her. The 3 of them are excited to see him but Si Feng is cold and distant. He is with Lu Yan Ran from Dianjing Valley and Ruo Yu. Just when Si Feng decides to leave, Xuan Ji faints as she has been poisoned by the birds’ claws.

Si Feng helps Xuan Ji to get rid of the poison. Yu Ran blames the trio for scuttling their plan to look for the bird’s lair and keeps arguing with Ling Long. Then, the birds return to attack them in large numbers. Si Feng uses his spell to find out the location of the people who are controlling the birds and stops them. But he becomes disoriented and needs time to recover. While the rest of the group go on to look for the culprits, Xuan Ji stays back to look after him.

Xuan Ji knows he is angry with her for not contacting him which is made worse when she refuses the Bahuang Mirror fragment that he had hurt himself to retrieve. But she also tries her best to cheer him up to appease his anger as she wants their friendship to revert to before. Si Feng tries his best to ignore Xuan Ji’s efforts.

Episode 10 – 14 : Misunderstandings

Yan Ran, Ruo Yu, Min Yan, and Ling Long are trapped in a net. The demon handling the birds are on the verge of killing them. He is Aoying. Si Feng and Xuan Ji arrive to save them. When Si Feng is being strangled, Xuan Ji transforms again and destroys Aoying. She is not in control of herself and could have hurt Si Feng until he whispers her name. Then, Xuan Ji reverts to her normal self and immediately falls unconscious. Si Feng locks up Aoying’s tendon which is still moving in his sachet.

Love Triangle

Xuan Ji discusses her transformation with Min Yan as he is the only one who knows about her secret after the Gu Eagle incident. Ling Long is a little jealous as her sister chooses to confide in Min Yan rather than her. Yan Ran is also worried about Si Feng who might fall for Xuan Ji again. She is actually his spiritual pet snake who has gained enough cultivation to turn into human form and assumes the identity as a Dianjing Valley member for convenience.

Min Yan suggests to Xuan Ji that they destroy her Bahuang Mirror fragment as it may be the item that is causing her to transform. However, they end up crashing on top of each other when the mirror breaks into pieces. Yan Ran witnesses it and uses her spell to tie them together. She then leads the others to catch them in a compromising position. This causes a misunderstanding that Min Yan and Xuan Ji are a couple. Ling Long is sad and angry that Min Yan has taken advantage of her sister while she also has feelings for him. Min Yan loves Ling Long too but she refuses to listen to his explanation.

Si Feng is also disappointed but Aoying’s tendon ends up tying him together with Xuan Ji when she accidentally drops his sachet. They spend the night being tied to each other and Si Feng has a hard time controlling his feelings for her but acts cold. He is also affected whenever she mentions that she loves Min Yan.

Finding Yu’Er

Ling Long is still angry with Min Yan and ventures into the woods. Min Yan is following her. They end up being cast under a spell and get separated. Xuan Ji, Si Feng, Yan Ran, and Ruo Yu look for them. They battle the demons in the woods and are also affected by the spell except for Xuan Ji since she lacks senses. She saves Si Feng who has fallen unconscious. She feeds him a pill she found on him and water through her mouth.

However, the pill she fed him is a Truth Seeking Pill. He ends up confessing that he has always wanted to see her and values her. This makes Xuan Ji happy to hear the truth. However, he stops himself from telling her about his Lover’s Curse Mask. As they look for the others, they find Ling Long. After figuring out their surroundings, they manage to save the other 3 of their friends. But the demon attacks them. Xuan Ji saves Si Feng again and together they destroy the woods. As Si Feng hugs her, the curse of his mask has been activated with the fist sign appearing on his wrist.

They chase after the demon who turns out to be Yu’er. Brother Liu pleads with them to spare his daughter who is half-demon. But Yu’Er is being controlled by Elder Ling Shi who is using her to suck the victims’ blood and spiritual energy to cultivate a fruit needed to produce the pills to save Xuanyuan Sect’s disciples. They confront Elder Ling Shi but he is spirited away by a powerful force. Yu’Er is freed from his control. She goes her own way as she hates her father who abandoned her when she was young.

Xuanyuan Sect Under Threat

The pills that are provided by Tianxu Sect is actually a poison and they need to be consumed regularly to avoid death. They are now under pressure to reveal their spiritual key to get more supply. Si Feng, Xuan Ji, and Ling Long go to Xuanyuan Sect to report about Elder Ling Shi. But they suspect something is amiss. Chief Zhu Shi asks Xuan Ji to pass a gift to Madam Dong Fang for her birthday. She is the wife of the Chief of Fuyu Island.

The Tianxu Sect wants the spiritual key which Chief Zhu Shi refuses to give. Wu Tong kills him. But when he is shown the hiding place of the key, the pearl is already missing. Wu Tong suspects that it has been given to Xuan Ji.

Clearing the Misunderstanding

Brother Liu tells Si Feng and Yan Ran that his mask can be removed by the woman he loves if she truly loves him back. Hence, Brother Liu encourages Si Feng to woo Xuan Ji and informs him that the next Bahuang Mirror fragment is in Zhongli City. After learning more about the different types of love from Brother Liu, Xuan Ji decides to tell everyone the truth about her secret. She doesn’t want Min Yan and Ling Long to be unhappy over her. So, she explains what happened that night she was caught in a compromising situation with Min Yan.

Min Yan also makes it clear that he only loves Ling Long. Si Feng learns that Xuan Ji has yet to learn what is romantic love and he has misunderstood her relationship with Min Yan. He is happy about it and encourages her to get back her 5 senses as she would not be able to differentiate between good and evil if she is always muddle-headed. Si Feng gives her his Bahuang Mirror fragment and she acquires a sense of smell.

Trip To Zhongli City

The place that they are looking for is Mount Xianren where Goddess Gao lives. But they couldn’t get in as it has been protected with a strong barrier. They eventually get a chance to smuggle in as grooms for the Goddess. But she turns out to be a 1,000-year-old demon fox in human form and apparently, she will suck men to death to get their qi to increase her cultivation. When she finds out that Xuan Ji is a woman dressed as a man, she is sent out. While Xuan Ji is trying to find her way around to get back in to save Si Feng, Ruo Yu, and Min Yan, she bumps into Ting Nu.

Ting Nu is a physician from the Heavenly Realm previously and he seems to know who Xuan Ji is in her past life. He tells Xuan Ji that Goddess Gao is actually Zi Hu and she is not a cruel demon. Ting Nu is captured by her because she thinks he can help her to get the spiritual keys. He helps Xuan Ji to distract Zi Hu from sucking her friends’ qi. Xuan Ji gets angry when Zi Hu misleads her that she has killed Si Feng. Xuan Ji transforms again and uses the Samadic Fire spell to defeat Zi Hu.

In the meantime, Ling Long and Yan Ran find the other piece of the Bahuang Mirror hidden by Zi Hu while looking for Xuan Ji and the rest.

Spiritual Keys

Zi Hu explains that she wants to increase her cultivation to save the man she loves, Wu Zhi Qi, who has been locked up by 4 chains for 1,000 years. To unlock these chains, she needs the spiritual keys. Zi Hu also tells them that the Tianxu Sect is also after the spiritual keys and they want Wu Zhi Qi to help them to revive Star of Mosha. Furthermore, the Tianxu Sect has already infiltrated the other sects.

Zi Hu shows them that she has never killed the men she captured. She has also held Elder Ling Shi who tells them what happened to Xuanyuan Sect. He is relieved when he sees that Chief Zhu Shi has given the key to Xuan Ji in the form of a pearl found on her bracelet.

Episode 15 – 19 : Hao Chen’s Identity

The group is attacked by Wu Tong and the demons. A bird is seen carrying away the Bahuang Mirror fragment. Zi Hu chases after and attacks it. The fragment is further broken into a few pieces. Zi Hu retrieves a piece while Xuan Ji gets another. This time, she obtains the ability to see colors. Elder Ling Shi sacrifices himself to stop Wu Tong and the demons. He unleashes a power so huge that everybody is knocked away.

Ruo Yu and Yan Ran are knocked unconscious. By the time they wake up, Ruo Yu’s mask is already broken and he has to go back to accept his punishment. Min Yan runs away with Ling Long. But they are ambushed by Wu Tong and his gang. Ling Long is captured while Min Yan is kicked off a hill and faints from his injuries. Xuan Ji and Si Feng fall off the cliff and into a river.

Removing Si Feng’s Mask

When they fall into the water, Xuan Ji’s eyes again give off a blue light. Next, she wakes up on an embankment and finds Si Feng injured. She removes his mask as blood is flowing from his face. When Si Feng awakens to find that Xuan Ji is able to remove his mask, he is happy. He thought his curse has been lifted. But the mask has a crying face after removal instead of a smiling one. This denotes that the woman he loves has another person in her life. Si Feng keeps quiet about it and his curse from Xuan Ji.

They spend a few happy days at the bottom of the cliff to allow Si Feng to recuperate. The area is like a forbidden place which has been sealed off by a powerful barrier. Xuan Ji finds a staff stuck to the ground while looking for food. It reacts when she touches it. Si Feng tries to break it to get them out of the area. But he is attacked by its powers instead. Xuan Ji grabs the staff. She could see images of herself as a general and killing others in a war. Then the barrier is broken. The staff becomes a sword. Xuan Ji has seen it in the Bahuang Mirror fragment and the general calls it Dinkun. The sword seeks out Xuan Ji who becomes its owner.

Hao Chen Is Worried

Teng She is one of the celestials of the Heavenly Realm and in charge of keeping an eye on the Dinkun. He knows it has been taken away and wants to look for it.

Hao Chen is Bailin Dijun in the Heavenly Realm. He created God of War and let her picked the Dinkun as her weapon although the ancient sword is heavy with killing intent. She was subsequently punished for widespread killing during the war but refused to admit that she had done anything wrong. God of War had undergone numerous mortal tribulations and each time, she had failed. If she fails again this time, she will never be able to re-enter the Heavenly Realm. Hao Chen wants to bring Xuan Ji safely back to the Heavenly Realm with him.

Si Ming knows Hao Chen come to the Mortal Realm for Xuan Ji although he insists he is doing it to save the 3 realms. Hao Chen is worried that Xuan Ji will fall for Si Feng and there are signs that her heart is beginning to waver. He manipulates the situation to prevent Xuan Ji’s real feelings from showing to make Si Feng to give up. Hao Chen also seals up the Dinkun’s powers so that Xuan Ji will not be able to use it effectively. He then orders Si Ming to erase Xuan Ji’s life pillar to suppress her memories of her past life.

Trip To Fuyu Island

Xuan Ji and Si Feng travel to Fuyu Island to give Xuanyuan Sect’s spiritual key to Chief Dong Fang of Fuyu Island. But they find him acting strangely. After testing him out, they discovered that he is being controlled by his wife through poison. Madam Dong Fang is from a demonic sect but the Chief loves her very much. He forgives her and she pretends to reconcile with him. She also feeds him an antidote. But Madam Dong Fang has a lover in Steward Ou Yang. She gives him information about the spiritual keys and promises to help him to obtain them. She is also pregnant with Ou Yang’s child although she tells Chief Dong Fang that the baby is his.

Si Feng confesses his feelings to Xuan Ji but she is still unable to get his meaning. When the Deputy Chief of Lize Palace arrives at Fuyu Island, Xuan Ji promises to marry Si Feng to save him from being punished. She also uses Dinkun to smash the mask and fight with the Deputy Chief which makes him suspicious about the sword. But after Hao Chen seals its powers, the Deputy Chief thought he might have made a mistake that Xuan Ji is Dinkun’s real owner.

The Deputy Chief gives Xuan Ji a fragment of the destroyed mask and asks her to cultivate it. If her love towards Si Feng is sincere, the result will be obvious. But Hao Chen quietly manipulates the outcome which leaves Si Feng disappointed. But Si Feng refuses to give up. He kisses Xuan Ji to make his intentions clear. Si Feng also tries to give her his mother’s hairpin but she rejects it out of panic. But Xuan Ji’s heart is feeling the beginning of love and Hao Chen stops it.

Chief Zhu Shi

Chief Chu Lei and the rest of the sects leaders go to Xuanyuan Sect to investigate. They find that Chief Zhu Shi is still alive and saves him. Chief Zhu Shi asks Chief Dong Fang for his sect’s spiritual key back. But Chief Dong Fang refuses to hand it back to him. With Xuanyuan Sect being wiped out, other sects leaders are worried about the safety of the spiritual keys.

Hao Chen is suspicious about Chief Zhu Shi because he is supposed to have been poisoned by the Tianxu Sect. In actual fact, Chief Zhu Shi had died. Ou Yang has taken his persona to pretend to be him to get the spiritual key. Hao Chen tries to test him out but there is no evidence that he is the fake Chief Zhu Shi because he has been prepared.

Saving Ling Long

Ling Long is captured by Wu Tong and being treated badly. He bullies her to get his revenge over how he suffered when the 5 sects were after him. But at the same time, Wu Tong also has a soft spot for her.

Yan Ran has been sent by Si Feng to find a Bahuang Mirror fragment which is with Wu Tong. She discovers Ling Long. Min Yan also recovers from his injuries after being saved by some villagers. He meets Yu’Er who has been caught by his fellow disciple brothers for acting suspiciously. Yu’Er leads them to Wu Tong’s hideout.

Yan Ran gives Ling Long a dagger to cut her chains while she follows Wu Tong who has taken the Bahuang Mirror fragment to see Tianxu Sect’s leader. But the leader is angry that Wu Tong has yet to get him any of the spiritual keys. He takes the mirror fragment and throws it away. He also orders Wu Tong to cut off Ling Long’s arm to threaten Chief Chu Lei.

Ling Long is caught before she could escape. Wu Tong cuts off someone else’s arm and uses Ling Long’s bracelet as a deception. He then takes away Ling Long’s primordial spirit to train her to obey him. Yan Ran is identified as one of the spies and forced to kill some prisoners as proof of loyalty. She sends a telepathic message to Si Feng for help. Min Yan witnesses the stabbing but is discovered. A fight ensues and his disciple brother helps him out of there.

Si Feng arrives in time to stop Wu Tong from killing Yan Ran. Wu Tong is unable to match Si Feng and flees from the scene.

Episode 20 – 24 : Torturing Si Feng

Min Yan and his 2nd disciple brother, Min Jue, are battling the demons. Xuan Ji and Si Feng arrive to help them. Wu Tong reappears with his men to make them dizzy with loud noises from big blow horns. Hao Chen turns up to save them. Wu Tong disappears through a tunnel. Min Yan finds him threatening Ling Long but is no match for Wu Tong’s prowess. With more people arriving, Ling Long is saved but Wu Tong takes Min Jue with him to jump through a hole in the cave. Yu’Er jumps after them before the hole closes. Both Mn Jue and Yu’Er are taken prisoners.

Si Feng’s Heartache

Ling Long’s primordial spirit is missing. She becomes a living dead and will eventually die if her primordial spirit is not quickly recovered. Min Yan has been injured with the 5 Poison Palm move. The medicine to cure him needs to be tested out. Xuan Ji volunteers to do it although there is a risk that she will lose her cultivation. Si Feng quickly gulps it down instead. The medicine is proven effective and Min Yan is saved. But the poison is still not fully drained out of his body.

Min Yan is sent to dip in an icy pool for him to recover. Hao Chen manipulates the situation to make it look like Xuan Ji loves Min Yan and wants to marry him just to let Si Feng witness the scene. Si Feng’s Lover’s Curse is triggered. He suffers extreme heart pain and vomits blood. Yan Ran is angry at Xuan Ji for causing Si Feng to suffer immensely. He has also used up the first of 3 chances before he will die because of the curse. But Si Feng forbids Yan Ran from harming Xuan Ji.

Si Feng wants to leave Fuyu Island but decides otherwise when he learns that Ling Long’s primordial spirit is missing. He wants to help Xuan Ji who is worried about her sister.

Fake Spiritual Key Plan

The Tianxu Sect wants a spiritual key in exchange for Ling Long’s primordial spirit. Chief Chu Lei discusses with the other sects and they decide to take out the Xuanyuan Sect’s spiritual key from their Heavenly Pearl and replace it with a fake one to deceive Tianxu Sect. Chief Chu Lei also tells the rest of the chiefs about Shaoyang Sect’s secret realm and the crystal lamp it is hiding.

Marriage Stone

To open up the Heavenly Pearl, they need a meteorite from the Fuyu Island’s Marriage Stone. After obtaining what they need, the Marriage Stone sends a sign that Xuan Ji and Hao Chen are meant to be together. However, Xuan Ji protests that she has no interest to marry Hao Chen. She also clarifies the same with Si Feng as Hao Chen eavesdrops on their conversation. In actual fact, there is nothing special about the Marriage Stone. It is just nothing more than Si Ming’s doing.

Attack On Fuyu Island

Once the spiritual key has been extracted from the pearl and kept in Chief Dong Fang’s vault, the demons start attacking Fuyu Island. They raise the formation to erect a barrier but demonic birds keep firebombing it to break it down. Si Feng tries to hold it up. Xuan Ji helps until she gets angry over the relentless attack. She transforms again and uses her powers to kill off all the demons.

In the meantime, Madam Dong Fang obtains the seal to the vault. She steals the Xuanyuan Sect’s and Fuyu Island’s spiritual keys with Ou Yang. They are being hunted down. Chief Chu Lei battles Ou Yang who is actually Di Lang in disguise. Di Lang scrapes Chief Chu Lei’s palm and obtains a drop of his blood. Xuan Ji and Si Feng arrive to defeat him. But Madam Dong Fang stops her husband from killing Di Lang who quickly pulls her along as they disappear from the scene.

Xuan Ji is stopped from giving chase. She wants to get back Ling Long’s primordial spirit but is told not to risk it. They have captured a demon and interrogate him. The chiefs learn that the Tianxu Sect wants the spiritual keys to free Wu Zhi Qi because he has the Juntian Chehai celestial weapons to open up the crystal lamp to revive Star of Mosha.

Accusing Si Feng

Si Feng uses Yan Ran’s Tianxu Sect’s ring to deceive the prisoner into giving out information about Wu Tong. But someone kills him with a poisoned needle just as he is about to divulge the location of the Tianxu Sect’s headquarters.

Hao Chen bars Xuan Ji from going to look for Ling Long’s primordial sprit. Si Feng argues with him which results in a fight. Yan Ran helps Si Feng by splashing Hao Chen with poison. This creates suspicion about her identity. Min Yan then identifies her as the person whom he saw stabbing someone in Tianxu Sect. Si Feng keeps back Yan Ran and refuses to let them harm her. They keep pressuring Si Feng to give up Yan Ran whom they think is a demon.

On top of that, the chiefs are desperate when the demon they are interrogating has been killed. Circumstantial evidence point to Si Feng. As a result, Si Feng is imprisoned and tortured repeatedly to make him admit that he is a demon with the Tianxu Sect. Madam Dong Fang also frames him that he is a demon. Xuan Ji keeps insisting that Si Feng is innocent but nobody is willing to listen to her. She tries to rescue him from the prison with Min Yan. Xuan Ji is touched that Si Feng has her interest in mind when he refuses to explain that he had sent Yan Ran to Tianxu Sect to check on the Bahuang Mirror.

However, they still couldn’t escape from Fuyu Island. Si Feng is willing to receive 3 lashes from a powerful whip to prove that he is not a demon.

Xuan Ji Saves Si Feng

Xuan Ji trusts Si Feng and is getting more vocal and stubborn with Hao Chen. That has been her personality all along. Hao Chen had always been controlling her in the Heavenly Realm as he refused to tell her her origin, family, and friends which made her rebellious. Xuan Ji gets mad when she sees Si Feng getting whipped. She unleashes her sword and power to stop the whipping before falling unconscious.

The Chief of Lize Palace then turns up to protect his disciple. He chides the rest of the sects for accusing Si Feng of being a demon. The Chief of Lize Palace then tortures Madam Dong Fang instead who reveals that the Tianxu Sect headquarters is in Mount Buzhou. Madam Dong Fang has become mentally unstable as Di Lang has abandoned her after getting the spiritual keys. She stabs herself to commit suicide after being tortured.

The Deputy Chief of Lize Palace is curious about Xuan Ji. He has threatened Ruo Yu not to side with Si Feng by using his sister to keep him in line. The Deputy Chief has also not spoken up for Si Feng when the latter was being accused. The Chief warns his deputy not to challenge him.

Ling Long’s Primordial Spirit

Wu Tong helps a flower spirit to escape its heavenly tribulation. He then gets it to take Ling Long’s appearance with half of her primordial spirit implanted. This makes the fake Ling Long’s personality to be a little different. She cannot remember the past and hence, couldn’t recognize a Xuanyuan Sect disciple, Shi Feng, and Yu’Er who are imprisoned. She selects Shi Feng to be her slave and he eventually commits suicide. Yu’Er keeps calling out to her and reminds her of who she is.

When Wu Tong is ordered to seek out Brother Liu because of the latter’s Heaven Eye, he learns from the fake Ling Long about Yu’Er being Brother Liu’s daughter.

Hao Chen’s Change Of Plan

As Xuan Ji is unwilling to give up on Si Feng, Hao Chen thinks he should go with the flow instead of forcing her to forget about relationships. He takes advantage of the need to use a new mantra to strengthen the Shaoyang Sect’s secret realm to propose for a marriage between himself and Xuan Ji. This is because the new mantra of feeling requires 2 people who are partners to cultivate together.

However, the relationship between Xuan Ji and Si Feng is deepening after the various incidents.

Episode 25 – 28 : Past Lives

Ruo Yu has a younger sister, Ruo Xue. The Deputy Chief has been using Rou Xue to threaten Ruo Yu to listen to him. Min Yan, Ruo Yu, Yan Ran, Si Feng, and Xuan Ji want to get back Ling Long’s primordial spirit but are stopped by Chief Chu Lei and Si Feng’s master. Both the Chiefs are at loggerheads and discourage their disciples from mixing with each other.

Xuan Ji is pressured to marry Hao Chen but she firmly disagrees. Together with 4 of her friends, they escape from Fuyu Island to head to Mount Buzhou. Chief Chu Lei, Hao Chen, and Aunt Hong also head to Mount Buzhou to look for them.

Capturing Brother Liu

Wu Tong uses Yu’Er to capture Brother Liu. The Tianxu Sect leader forces Brother Liu to open his Heaven Eye to confirm if Xuan Ji is God of War by threatening him with Yu’Er’s life. He finds out that she is indeed as he has suspected all along. Brother Liu tells Wu Tong not to trust the leader as he has a Heavenly Realm criminal seal on him and hence, not someone worth serving.

Unmasking The Tianxu Sect Leader

Using the information provided by Brother Liu, Wu Tong deduces that the Tianxu Sect leader would need the Flying Dragon seal from Lize Palace in order to suppress the Heavenly Realm criminal seal. This is the only way for him to enter Mount Buzhou freely. So, Wu Tong steals the Flying Dragon seal and uses it to force the leader to cooperate. The Tianxu Sect leader is none other than the Deputy Chief of Lize Palace because that would explain how he could easily has access to the Flying Dragon seal. He is Yuan Lang and was a minister for Star of Mosha. Yuan Lang is also a golden-winged demon bird.

Yuan Lang wants to rule over the 3 realms while Wu Tong wants to destroy the 5 sects as revenge. Wu Tong keeps the Flying Dragon seal which contains a spiritual key while he promises to handle Brother Liu’s case as part of their cooperation.

Zi Hu’s Story

Zi Hu helps Xuan Ji and her friends to escape from Fuyu Island while they are being pursued by Chief Chu Lei and Hao Chen. She will show them the way to Mount Buzhou which is not in the Mortal Realm. However, they will need Ting Nu’s help to find the entrance and he is missing. Zi Hu suspects he has been captured by a random demon.

Hence, they travel together to look for Ting Nu. Zi Hu relates to them her story. She was a fox who got caught by Wu Zhi Qi who toyed with her for 500 years. Zi Hu fell in love with him and through cultivation, transformed into human form. But Wu Zhi Qi didn’t love as she expected. Yuan Lang then enticed him to join Star of Mosha in the battle with the Heavenly Realm. Zi Hu advised Wu Zhi Qi not to go but he didn’t listen. When the demons lost the war, Wu Zhi Qi was captured by the Heavenly Realm and chained up at the lowest levels of the City of Flames at Mount Buzhou.

Reviving Xuan Ji’s Memories

The group doesn’t know where to look for Ting Nu. Si Feng suggests that they try to get help from Brother Liu who has the Heaven Eye. Brother Liu is being blackmailed by Wu Tong with Yu’Er’s life. Wu Tong wants Brother Liu to use the Bahuang Mirror fragment to revive Xuan Ji’s memories. Yuan Lang wants to awaken the God of War.

Brother Liu leads Xuan Ji and the group to the place where Ting Nu is captured. They split up to look for him. Xuan Ji, Si Feng, and Zi Hu find Ting Nu slowly being drained by the Bahuang Mirror formation. They try to use their cultivation to free him but are sucked into the mirror. Xuan Ji could see herself as the God of War. She had been tricked and manipulated to be a killing machine for the Heavenly Realm. She had been lied to which caused her a lot of pain and anger. God fo War vowed to destroy the Heavenly Realm. She was chained up but refused to admit that she was in the wrong. The Heavenly Emperor sent her to the lower realms to undergo 10 tribulations to ease her resentment.

However, part of the story in the mirror has been concealed as it turns foggy with lightning and thunder. Si Feng and Xuan Ji could not see who was responsible for the deceit. Hao Chen has also ordered Si Ming to seal up Xuan Ji’s life pillar to prevent her from being awakened as God of War. Xuan Ji becomes desperate why her memories have been sealed up and she cannot know her past. She moves away from Si Feng to look for more.

Si Feng’s Past Lives

Through the Bahuang Mirror, Si Feng could also see his past lives. He had been in love with Xuan Ji for 9 lifetimes. But each time, it ended tragically. He had died to protect her and sacrificed his life for her benefit. However, he had never got anything back in return from Xuan Ji. In fact, she was cold towards him and he died a heartbroken man in their past lives.

Xuan Ji’s is about to awaken as she gets angrier over the deception when the memories are triggered. Ting Nu realizes the mirror is sucking away their primordial spirit and tries to free them. Brother Liu, Min Yan, Yan Ran, and Ruo Yu arrive to help. They combine their powers but Xuan Ji is getting stronger and draining their spiritual energy especially Si Feng’s. Brother Liu doesn’t have the heart to see Si Feng die. He uses his power to destroy the Bahuang Mirror to free them.

Xuan Ji wakes up realizing who she is in the past. She has also regained her 6 senses. When she learns Si Feng has been miserable after waking up because of what he had seen in his past lives, Xuan Ji rushes to look for him. She tells him that she loves him and kisses him. They become a loving couple which causes Yan Ran to feel childishly angry. Si Feng just wants to live his life out with Xuan Ji no matter what happens.

Pulling Zi Hu Back From The Mirror

Zi Hu’s primordial spirit is still stuck in the Bahuang Mirror as she refuses to leave. She is expending her energy to change Wu Zhi Qi’s fate by trying to get him not to follow Yuan Lang’s suggestion. Si Feng and Xuan Ji enter the mirror again to persuade Zi Hu to leave. Xuan Ji promises her that she will help her to look for Wu Zhi Qi. Zi Hu listens to her and wakes up. But they still do not know who Yuan Lang is. Zi Hu only knows him as the person who had betrayed Wu Zhi Qi to escape punishment from the Heavenly Realm.

Ting Nu knows Brother Liu has been acting suspiciously. They caught him sneaking out to meet the Tianxu Sect. Brother Liu has no choice but to tell them the truth about Yu’Er. They decide to set out for Mount Buzhou the next day with the special candles Ting Nu has prepared for them. As Brother Liu is injured when he destroyed the Bahuang Mirror, he is advised to stay back with Ting Nu.

Episode 29 – 33 : Teng She

Xuan Ji, Si Feng, Zi Hu, Min Yan, Ruo Yu, and Yan Ran arrive at the town nearest to Mount Buzhou. Min Yan meets Chief Chu Lei who gives him a secret mission to infiltrate the Tianxu Sect to get back Ling Long’s primordial spirit as well as the spiritual keys. Ruo Yu witnesses the exchange.

Lighting the special candles, they open the gate to enter Mount Buzhou. However, they will need to get out before the candles are burned out.

Finding Wu Zhi Qi

To save time, Zi Hu split up from the group to look for Wu Zhi Qi. She warns the rest that they couldn’t use their spells in Mount Buzhou without attracting attention. Zi Hu finds Wu Zhi Qi at the bottom levels of Mount Buzhou but he is chained up. He also cannot recognize Zi Hu anymore.

Yuan Lang snuffs out Zi Hu’s candle at the sacrificial altar outside the mountain. Zi Hu is sucked out and attacked by demonic forces. Xuan Ji flies to protect Zi Hu but the latter is still pulled out of Mount Buzhou back to the entrance. Yuan Lang stores her up in his sachet. He also manipulates the rest of the candles to make it harder for them to exit Mount Buzhou. Hao Chen arrives and both of them engages in a short fight. Yuan Lang unknowingly drops an item before escaping from the scene.

Becoming A Traitor

Xuan Ji and the rest come across the fake Ling Long. They force her to lead them to the prison to free Yu’Er before demanding for Ling Long’s primordial spirit. They grab all the spirit bottles they could find before being ambushed. Their candles are burning out which means they have little time left before their powers are gone and they can’t exit Mount Buzhou.

Wu Tong tempts them with a fake bottle. Min Yan agrees to be part of Tianxu Sect in exchange for Ling Long’s primordial spirit. He cut off the arm of his second disciple brother, Min Jue, as proof of loyalty. Si Feng knows that the bottle is fake. He retrieves the real bottle from Wu Tong’s belt. But they are still surrounded. Ruo Yu becomes the second person to be a traitor. Wu Tong asks him to kill Xuan Ji to show his loyalty. Si Feng blocks it and is severely injured. Xuan Ji gets angry and unleashes her Dinkun sword. Hao Chen is working his spell outside the gate. He pulls Xuan Ji and Si Feng out of Mount Buzhou.

Si Feng’s Secret

Si Feng is on the verge of death. Xuan Ji wants to use a a technique to save him which may cost her her life. Hao Chen offers to do it instead. He can’t allow Xuan Ji to die and fail her tribulation. Si Feng lives but his situation is still critical. Xuan Ji feeds him her Flower of Blessed Love which is a heavenly spiritual energy that Hao Chen has given her to cleanse her of evil energy. Hao Chen is angry that Xuan Ji is devoted to Si Feng. He thinks she belongs to him.

Si Feng is dying as the energy Xuan Ji gave him is in conflict with his demonic body. Yan Ran removes the Crystal Dragon seal from his body so that he can live. The seal is to hide his demon form. Si Feng tells Yan Ran to quickly get Brother Liu over. Brother Liu and Ting Nu arrive in time to prevent his secret from being exposed. Hao Chen is already suspicious when the heavenly spiritual energy fails to work on Si Feng. But they create a story that a powerful demon was trying to take Si Feng away and there is demonic poison in his body.

The Lize Palace is founded by the Golden Bird tribe which is supposed to have disappeared after the battle 1,000 years ago. But their ancestors have found a way to hide their characteristics with the Crystal Dragon seal. Si Feng is fearful of telling Xuan Ji the truth about his secret as he is afraid of losing her. So, he gives her a puzzle box with his secret in it and leaves it to her to open it one day.

Xuan Ji’s Spiritual Pet

Teng She secretly leaves the Heavenly Realm to look for God of War. He creates problems for the mortals in the village. Xuan Ji stops and defeats him with her Dinkun sword. Si Feng suggests that she makes him her spiritual pet. Teng She is against the idea and rebels. Finally, Xuan Ji relents and lets him leave as she finds it meaningless if Teng She doesn’t want to stay.

However, Teng Shi decides to stay when tempted with delicious food. He also reveals that God of War was punished because of her hatred due to unrequited love. She loved Bailing Dijun who didn’t love her back. This was the story that has been going around in the Heavenly Realm.

Spying On Wu Tong

Ruo Yu tells Min Yan that he had heard his conversation with Chief Chu Lei. Hence, he knows Min Yan’s secret mission and claims that has stayed to help him out. Min Yan discovers that the fake Ling Long has some unique memories from their time together. Ruo Yu deduces that the fake Ling Long has half of the real Ling Long’s primordial spirit in her body.

Wu Tong gets the fake Ling Long to bring poisoned food to Min Jue. Then, he orders Min Yan and Ruo Yu to accompany his men to send a gift to Shaoyang Sect. Min Yan arrives to inform Chief Chu Lei that the Tianxu Sect still has half of Ling Long’s primordial spirit. However, he doesn’t know that the “gift” to his master is Min Jue’s corpse. Min Yan is furious with Wu Tong.

Min Yan manages to convince the fake Ling Long to help them as he makes her realize that she is living someone else’s life. Through Teng She’s help, Xuan Ji could communicate with Min Yan as he links the two halves of the primordial spirit together. Teng She guides Min Yan on what to do through a talisman. Min Yan and Ruo Yu obtain the other half of the flower spirit’s primordial spirit. They promise to give it back to her if she steals Wu Tong’s Soul Guiding Bell for them.

Ruo Yu’s Real Intention

Teng She, Xuan Ji, and Si Feng make their way to the entrance of Mount Buzhou. They need to be near the place for Teng She to guide Min Yan to extract half of Ling Long’s primordial spirit out of the fake body. The fake Ling Long gives Min Yan the Soul Guiding Bell. Once Min Yan has extracted the spirit out, Ruo Yu sneakily wipes off the talisman to cut off communication with Teng She. The fake Ling Long becomes an empty shell.

Ruo Yu convinces Min Yan to control the body to get them the spiritual keys. She gets them the Flying Dragon seal which Min Yan finds suspicious as the other 2 keys from Fuyu Island and Xuanyuan Sect are missing. Ruo Yu explains that the seal belongs to Lize Palace. He also lies to Min Yan that a spy must have stolen it for Tianxu Sect and the other 2 keys must have been kept elsewhere.

They return the flower demon’s spirit back to her before they are found out. They are chased by the demons. Ruo Yu tells Min Yan that he will divert their attention and asks him to escape. But Ruo Yu is attacked and falls off a cliff. Min Yan wants to save him but has to fight off the demons. Teng She, Xuan Ji, and Si Feng arrive to help Min Yan.

Episode 34 – 38 : Si Feng Exposed

Wu Tong kills and reduces the flower spirit to ashes when she reverts back to herself. He only wants Ling Long. Hao Chen suspects that one of the sects’ elders is a demon or spy working for the Tianxu Sect. This is because the item dropped by the person he fought with outside Mount Buzhou is part of the special whip used to lash Si Feng previously.

Banished From Shaoyang Sect

Ling Long awakens as she gets back the other half of her primordial spirit. But she also has with her memories of the bad things that she had done while trapped in that body including being intimate with Wu Tong.

Min Yan is imprisoned for killing Min Jue. Chief Chu Lei has never asked Min Yan to be a spy. They deduce it must be Di Lang imposting as Chief Chu Lei to give out the order. Ruo Yu is forced to follow Yuan Lang’s orders as his sister is being held as hostage. He has been asked to kill Si Feng to awaken Xuan Ji’s God of War powers. Min Yan has been tricked.

Ling Long is feeling guilty that Min Yan is taking the blame for her. Min Jue died because of her poisoned cakes. But Min Yan doesn’t want her to tell anyone. During his trial, everyone pleads with Chief Chu Lei to spare Min Yan’s life. Chief Chu Lei decides to banish him from Shaoyang Sect. Ling Long asks his father to banish her as well. She decides to follow Min Yan out of the sect to live at the foot of Mount Shaoyang. Ling Long kisses Min Yan to let her feelings known.

Red Golden Demon Bird

Xuan Ji and Si Feng are deeply in love. Chief Chu Lei accepts Si Feng and plans to let them marry after the tournament in Dianjing Valley. She asks Si Feng to put on his mother’s hairpin on her hair. The hairpin is a token of his father’s love to his mother. Aunt Hong notices her hairpin and quickly asks her to remove it. The pattern on the hairpin denotes the Red Golden Demon Bird which had killed Xuan Ji’s mother. However, Xuan Ji lies to her aunt that she has bought the hairpin.

Using the Memories Pearl left by Ling Long, Xuan Ji watches her past with Si Feng. It is the times she had spent with her mother. From some happy moments, they then see Xuan Ji’s mother being killed by a Red Golden Demon Bird. Si Feng is shocked but keeps quiet about his identity. He asks Yan Ran to investigate so that he can give Xuan Ji an answer.

Yuan Lang now has 3 spiritual keys. The last one is in Dianjing Valley. Wu Tong pleads for his life now that Yuan Lang has regained the Flying Dragon seal. Yuan Lang strips off one side of his arm but spares his life since he knows the secret layout of Dianjing Valley by virtue of being their former disciple. The Chief of Lize Palace knows that Yuan Lang is after the spiritual keys. He doesn’t care as what he wants is the Stone Marrow of Dianjing Valley to revive his wife, Hao Feng. They will cooperate to attack Dianjing Valley to get what each other wants.

Flushing Out The Demons

All the sects arrive at Dianjing Valley to participate in the tournament. Si Feng is still afraid to tell Xuan Ji about his identity but asks her to trust him no matter what happens. Hao Chen uses a spell to find out that Si Feng is indeed a demon. He also sets a trap with cooperation from Chief Rong of Dianjing Valley to flush out the spy among the elders. When Yuan Lang and Di Lang go to the vault to retrieve the spiritual key, they become trapped. Di Lang sacrifices himself to let Yuan Lang escape. However, they still know Yuan Lang is the spy as his palm has signs that he has touched the vault switch.

Dianjing Valley, Fuyu Island, and Shaoyang Sect decide that they will trap all the demons the next day during the tournament.

Si Feng’s Parents

Si Feng pleads with his master to stop the attack against the other sects when he finds out that plans are afoot to rebel. But his master tells him that he has had enough of the so-called righteous sects. He wants the Stone Marrow to revive Hao Feng. Hao Feng was the daughter of the previous Chief of Dianjing Valley. They fell in love and she got pregnant. Si Feng is their son and he is shocked to learn the news that his master is also his father.

Hao Feng died because she refused to reveal his whereabouts when the others learned that her lover is a demon. Si Feng’s father also killed Xuan Ji’s mother because she was forcing Hao Feng to give him up. But Si Feng still doesn’t agree with his father’s method of revenge. He traps him and Yuan Lang with his spell. Si Feng uses his father’s badge to order Lize Palace’s soldiers to withdraw. However, he is tied up instead when he goes to see Chief Rong about Lize Palace’s withdrawal as they now know he is a demon. Si Feng’s father is able to free himself and Yuan Lang to attend the tournament.

Battle At Dianjing Valley

The Taohui Beast is used to trap Xuan Ji and Teng She up during the tournament. Yuan Lang and Si Feng’s father then start their attack. The rest of the sects use an artifact to trap them. But Yuan Lang uses Zi Hu’s demon core to envelop the artifact and makes it loses its effectiveness. The demons break out of the trap and widespread fighting ensues. Yuan Lang takes the opportunity to steal Dianjing Valley’s spiritual key and leaves with the soldiers. He has no interest to help his Chief to get the Stone Marrow.

Yan Ran frees Si Feng but it is too late. The battle has started. His father steals the Stone Marrow and tells Si Feng that it is too late to turn back now. Xuan Ji and Teng She defeat the Taohui Beast and returns to find bloodied scenes of fighting everywhere. Si Feng, his father and their remaining soldiers are surrounded by the other sects. His father transforms into the Red Golden Demon Bird and starts attacking everybody. Xuan Ji is devastated to learn that Si Feng is a demon. Si Feng transforms himself as well to stop his own father from killing others.

However, Si Feng gets hit when he blocks Xuan Ji from killing his father with her Dinkun sword. His father flies him out of there as his curse is also being triggered from his heartache.

God Of War

Xuan Ji catches up with them as she wants to know the truth from Si Feng. His father and Xuan Ji want to kill each other. To prevent his father from harming her, Si Feng tells Xuan Ji that he doesn’t want to see her and shoos her to go away. His father lifts him up and flies him back to Lize Palace.

Xuan Ji becomes angry and turns into God of War when she hears that Wu Tong is wreaking havoc with the demons and attacking Min Yan and Ling Long. Wu Tong and his demons are defeated by Xuan Ji and have to scatter. But her anger is also uncontrollable that Hao Chen has to use his spell to calm her down and get her out of her God of War personality.

After learning of her identity, Xuan Ji is pressured to be the leader of the righteous sects to defeat the demons and wipe out Lize Palace. She has no choice but to accept when her father also pleads with her to do so. Xuan Ji is still unsure about Si Feng’s sincerity but is advised to keep away from him. Hao Chen tells her that Si Feng is only making use of her for his own agenda.

A New Chief Of Lize Palace

Si Feng’s father helps him to recover. He also gives Si Feng the antidote to his Lover’s Curse but that will also mean his memories of Xuan Ji will be erased. Si Feng declines the antidote. His father brings him to see his mother’s body. He has fed her the Stone Marrow and is waiting for her to re-awaken. His father was also forced by Hao Feng’s father to wear the Lover’s Curse Mask.

Yuan Lang wants Lize Palace to have a new Chief as they are facing a critical situation with their identities as demons exposed. He expects to be appointed but Si Feng’s father chooses Si Feng instead to head Lize Palace. Yuan Lang protests by declaring that he is mad and brings up Hao Feng.

Episode 39 – 43 : Deepening Misunderstandings

Yuan Lang reveals that Hao Feng had wanted to leave Si Feng’s father when she found out that he is a demon. She didn’t love him like he thinks she did. The old Chief of Lize Palace used an enchantment spell to make Si Feng’s father lose the unhappy memories so that he wouldn’t die from the Lover’s Mask curse. In fact, it was Yuan Lang who killed Xuan Ji’s mother because she saw Si Feng’s father in his demon form while chasing after Hao Feng who was running away. Si Feng’s father had injured Xuan Ji’s mother but Yuan Lang killed her off to protect Lize Palace’s secret.

The truth is too much for Si Feng’s father to take. His lover’s curse is triggered for the last time and he dies. Yuan Lang becomes the new leader of Lize Palace by threatening Si Feng with the lives of their fellow disciples. He then merges Lize Palace and Tianxu Sect.

Xuan Ji is deeply unhappy and still has doubts that Si Feng would lie to her. Zi Hu advises her to meet Si Feng to find out the answers.

Ling Long Is Ashamed

Ling Long finds it hard to forget all her shameful acts of intimacy with Wu Tong and the way he controlled her. She is haunted by the experience especially when she becomes a subject of gossips and being looked down upon for indecency. Ling Long also feels bad for Min Yan and decides to commit suicide. Min Yan saves her just before she drowns in the river. She promises not to do it again when Min Yan angrily offers to die with him. He then brings her back to Shaoyang Sect to recover.

Yuan Lang’s Spirit Cultivation Vessel

Yuan Lang wants to revive Star of Mosha to use him to rule over the 3 realms. But to control Star of Mosha, he will need to have God of War’s powers. So, Yuan Lang has been draining his fellow disciples’ qi into the Spirit Cultivation Vessel. He will need 99 of them and the vessel can then be used to suck up God of War’s spiritual energy. Yuan Lang would then be able to absorb those powers to match Star of Mosha.

However, Yuan Lang would still need to get Wu Zhi Qi out to open the crystal lamp. But he doesn’t have the power to enter the place where Wu Zhi Qi is being chained up. Si Feng could do it as the 12-feathered Red Golden Demon Bird but rejects Yuan Lang’s suggestion to cooperate.

Meeting Si Feng

Xuan Ji decides to meet Si Feng. He tells her that he has never lied to her except for his identity as a demon. Neither did he know about the various plots. Si Feng also lets Xuan Ji know that it is Yuan Lang who had killed her mother. Thus, he asks Xuan Ji to give him some time to get rid of Yuan Lang and reclaim Lize Palace before he answers before the righteous sects. Xuan Ji tells him to give her a day to decide if she would wait for him.

But the next day, Hao Chen stops her from meeting Si Feng again. She drops the hairpin Si Feng gave her when Hao Chen makes a sudden appearance. Hao Chen keeps manipulating her that Si Feng couldn’t be trusted. He also tells her that Ling Long has attempted suicide. Xuan Ji rushes back to Shaoyang Sect without meeting Si Feng again. Hao Chen knows she has dropped the hairpin but keeps quiet about it.

Yan Ran picks it up and gives it to Si Feng to convince him that Xuan Ji doesn’t care for him anymore. Hao Chen uses a God of War’s spell to cause a fire to trap Si Feng and his friends. He wants them to become enemies. Si Feng suffers some burn injuries on his arm. He refuses to believe that Xuan Ji would hurt them and goes to Shaoyang Sect to look for her.

Sworn To Be Enemies

Xuan Ji is pressured by her injured father and Hao Chen to swear that she will cut off all relations with Si Feng and regard the demons as enemies to be killed. Si Feng overhears her oath and is disappointed. He thought that is why she had left behind the hairpin. While leaving Mount Shaoyang, Si Feng runs into Ruo Yu who is under Yuan Lang’s orders to suppress the spiritual aura of the Fire Dragon guarding the spiritual lamp.

Si Feng ends up destroying the Fire Dragon while stopping Ruo Yu. While Ruo Yu escapes, an injured Si Feng is captured. He is confined to Mingxia Cave and made to suffer its harsh weather conditions. The righteous sects decide to use Si Feng’s life to exchange back the spiritual keys. They send Min Yan and his disciple brother to bring their demand letter to Lize Palace. But Yuan Lang has little care for Si Feng’s life. He asks his men to kill Min Yan and his disciple brother instead. Zi Hu saves them. She is in Lize Palace to steal the spiritual keys.

They enter Lize Palace and then split up to look for the keys. But Min Yan and his disciple brother are discovered. They escape and return to Shaoyang Sect to report that the re-awakening of Star of Mosha is getting closer. The righteous sects decide to extract Si Feng’s demon core as a warning since Yuan Lang couldn’t be bothered to respond to their demands.

Star Of Mosha

Xuan Ji goes to Mingxia Cave to help Si Feng to escape. In the meantime, Master Heng Yang and his disciples are casting their spells to summon another Fire Dragon. Yuan Lang appears and severely injures and kills all of them. Although he manages to hold off the new Fire Dragon, he still couldn’t get near the spiritual lamp without God of War’s powers.

While trying to bring Si Feng and Yan Ran to safety, they are stopped by Chief Chu Lei and the rest of the sects. Xuan Ji is caught in between. She tries to save Si Feng from getting killed. When Chief Chu Lei launches a sword at Si Feng, Xuan Ji dashes in front of him. Si Feng hugs her and turns her around so that the sword pierces him instead before scraping Xuan Ji. A drop of her blood travels towards the spiritual lamp and the Devil Flowers in the cave start to bloom. Everyone thinks it is Si Feng’s blood and that he is Star of Mosha. Ruo Yu is quietly observing the whole incident in hiding.

Only Si Feng knows it is Xuan Ji’s blood rather than his that is linked to Star of Mosha because the same thing had happened when they entered the secret realm previously to look for his spiritual pet snake. But Si Feng pretends that he is Star of Mosha to save Xuan Ji who is still clueless. She is devastated that Si Feng has lied to her again. Si Feng flies out of there when Xuan Ji unleashes her power to make both sides stop their fight.

Brainwashing Xuan Ji

With her master and other Shaoyang Sect disciples dead or severely injured, everyone assumes it is Si Feng’s doing. Teng She finds the incident strange and returns to the Heavenly Realm to search the records. Chief Chu Lei passes leadership of the Shaoyang Sect to Hao Chen because of the shame for what Xuan Ji has done. Other sects are questioning Xuan Ji’s commitment due to her relationship with Si Feng. Hao Chen tells them that he and Xuan Ji are destined to be together to put the matter to rest.

Hao Chen keeps brainwashing Xuan Ji that Si Feng is an evil demon who is just putting on an act. He orders Si Ming to manipulate what she can see in the Bahuang Mirror. Then, he lets Xuan Ji have a fragment of it to let her know that she used to be happy with him in the Heavenly Realm long before she met Si Feng. Hao Chen makes it clear that he is sincere in wanting to marry her and that they should start practicing the new Mantra of Feeling together as partners. By cultivating together, he can borrow her powers in the fight against the demons.

Battling Si Feng

Si Feng regains his position as Chief of Lize Palace. He asks Yan Ran to get Xuan Ji’s blood and then uses the blood to revive the Devil Flower in Lize Palace to prove his identity. This forces Yuan Lang to give up the leadership as all the demons would now look up to Si Feng as Star of Mosha. Si Feng imprisons Wu Tong and Ruo Yu. He also discovers Zi Hu who is still looking for the spiritual keys in Lize Palace. He learns from her about Yuan Lang’s Spirit Cultivation Vessel. She has also told Wu Zhi Qi about Yuan Lang’s betrayal when she saw him earlier. Therefore, they should get him out as Yuan Lang is now their common enemy.

Yuan Lang sneakily sends a threatening letter to Shaoyang Sect to demand for the crystal lamp or risk getting massacred. He still has his doubts that Si Feng is Star of Mosha. The righteous sects take the fight to Lize Palace. Si Feng asks for a one-to-one fight with Xuan Ji to spare the innocent as a barrier is placed to protect Lize Palace. The 2 of them battle it out as Yuan Lang starts to put his Spirit Cultivation Vessel to use. But the barrier is then broken.

Episode 44 – 48 : Releasing Wu Zhi Qi

The righteous sects have used the secret passage to sneak into Lize Palace. There is widespread killing. Si Feng is mad that they have resorted to underhanded tactics. He locks them up using his Gold Bell barrier. Xuan Ji agrees to retreat if he frees them. A deal is struck until Si Feng learns that Hao Chen has killed Lize Palace’s students while breaking into their fortress. He frees up Hao Chen from the barrier with the intention to kill him.

Si Feng is about to stab Hao Chen. Xuan Ji prevents it and starts fighting with Si Feng. Hao Chen stabs Si Feng from the back. Xuan Ji cannot bear to kill Si Feng and the Mantra of Feeling with Hao Chen is broken. Si Feng turns around and pierces Hao Chen with his sword. Xuan Ji rushes towards him. Si Feng uses his sword to defend himself. Yan Ran appears to help him by trying to kill Xuan Ji. But Si Feng forces her off and the fight is broken as both of them fall back to the ground. Xuan Ji vows that she break all ties with him from then on.

Ting Nu heals Si Feng. Both Ting Nu and Brother Liu know Si Feng is not Star of Mosha and he is only doing it to protect Xuan Ji. Si Feng wants to break the blood bond and release Yan Ran as his spiritual pet as he can’t get her to listen to him not to harm Xuan Ji. Yan Ran leaves him but prevents him from severing their bond.

Entering The Devil’s Capital

Si Feng forces Yuan Lang’s hand to quicken the release of Wu Zhi Qi by accusing him of rebellion. He will have to enter Devil’s Capital which is heavy with demonic aura. Zi Hu would be tagging along.

Hao Chen is angry at Xuan Ji for failing to kill Si Feng. He is recovering from his injuries. Hao Chen gives Xuan Ji a Soul Purifying Vase which supposedly could purify Si Feng of demonic energy if she finds it hard to kill him. He also tells her that Si Feng would free Wu Zhi Qi next to open the crystal lamp and she should meet him there.

Si Feng gets the 4 spiritual keys from Yuan Lang and enters Devil’s Capital. At the entrance, Xuan Ji appears to stop him. They fight but Si Feng still manages to get in through the portal. On the other hand, the main door opens for Xuan Ji to welcome her in. Zi Hu slips in after Xuan Ji as the door closes. Inside the Devil’s Capital, they fight again but also cooperate to destroy the demons that arise. Si Feng escapes and flies away from her. He destroys the murals on a wall that show that God of War is also Star of Mosha so that Xuan Ji cannot see them.

Wu Zhi Qi Is Freed

Xuan Ji catches up with Si Feng. He hands her the proof that Yuan Lang is her mother’s killer but she is not satisfied as she thinks he is colluding with him to free Wu Zhi Qi. As the time is nearing for the gates of the City of Flames to open, Si Feng has little time to argue with Xuan Ji. He tricks her to distract her attention as he tries to enter the gate. But Xuan Ji stops him in time and believes that he has changed.

As they fight, Si Feng passes the spiritual keys to Zi Hu to free Wu Zhi Qi. Zi Hu is very happy to see him again and also informs him about Si Feng. Xuan Ji uses the Soul Purifying Vase to try to purify Si Feng’s demonic soul. She doesn’t believe him when he tells her that he is not Star of Mosha. But Hao Chen has actually tricked her. The vase is a Vermillion Blood Vase which will kill Si Feng.

Xuan Ji is shocked and tries to save him but she couldn’t get into the vase’s barrier anymore. He is on the verge of death when Wu Zhi Qi uses his Juntian Chehai to break the barrier to save him. He brings Si Feng back to Lize Palace. Wu Zhi Qi forces Yuan Lang to cooperate to heal Si Feng by threatening him with stories of his betrayal towards the Demon clans 1,000 years ago.

Tricking Yuan Lang

Wu Zhi Qi agrees to cooperate with Si Feng to bring down Yuan Lang. He also grants Si Feng 3 wishes for being his savior. Wu Zhi Qi has no intention to revive Star of Mosha as he prefers being a carefree demon. Now that they know Yuan Lang is going to use his Spirit Cultivation Vessel to absorb Xuan Ji’s powers, they pretend to gain his trust and trick him to cooperate. But Yuan Lang is still suspicious of them.

Yuan Lang frees Ruo Yu and Wu Tong from the prison. He uses Wu Tong as a stepping stone to cross the Black Pond to reach the platform of a dead Asura’s general’s coffin. Yuan Lang splits his soul and embeds half into the general’s body. Wu Tong falls into the pond and turns into a half-demon. But the demonic aura is too much for him to handle. Yuan Lang stabilizes it for him. He wants Wu Tong to lead his spirit army to enter Shaoyang Sect when it is time to open the crystal lamp.

Yan Ran is feeling weak after leaving Si Feng. Ruo Yu brings the unconscious Yan Ran back to Si Feng’s room. Yan Ran is still adamant about her negative views on Xuan Ji. She leaves Si Feng again and vows to find a way to break their blood bond and frees herself from being his spiritual pet.

Min Yan’s Proposal

Ling Long still feels undeserving of Min Yan’s love. She cannot accept her past with Wu Tong and decides to leave Mount Shaoyang. Min Yan then asks Chief Chu Lei for permission to marry Ling Long to show that he only loves her. Chief Chu Lei agrees and Ling Long is touched by Min Yan’s sincerity. They will hold their wedding in 5 days’ time.

Xuan Ji breaks her engagement with Hao Chen. She is angry that Hao Chen has lied to her. He is agreeable but tells her that he will always be her disciple brother. Hao Chen also advises her to destroy the crystal lamp if she can’t protect it anymore one day so that Si Feng can’t get his hands on it. With Hao Chen’s time in the Mortal Realm nearing an end and he can’t control her anymore, he decides to destroy her instead so that she doesn’t turn into a demon.

Hao Chen’s Deception

On Ling Long’s and Min Yan’s wedding day, Si Feng and Wu Zhi Qi tricks Yuan Lang to open up the formation and the Spirit Cultivation Vessel by getting Zi Hu to disguise as Xuan Ji. They then point back the vessel at Yuan Lang. However, they realize only half of his soul is destroyed. The other half is in the Asura’s general’s body and he is going to get the crystal lamp. Wu Tong and Ruo Yu are instructed to keep watch.

Hao Chen is trying to destroy the crystal lamp and both of them end up fighting. Min Yan appears to send Hao Chen some wedding wine. He is injured by Wu Tong who rushes to kidnap Ling Long when he knows that it is their wedding day. Ruo Yu tries to stop Min Yan from going after Wu Tong as he knows Min Yan is no match for Wu Tong. Min Yan realizes Si Feng is telling the truth as Ruo Yu is supposed to be dead after falling off the cliff with the Flying Dragon seal.

Hao Chen is severely injured by Yuan Lang. Si Feng and Wu Zhi Qi arrive and Yuan Lang is destroyed after a bout of fighting. Si Feng is happy that he could now tell Xuan Ji the truth. He tries to heal Hao Chen. But when Xuan Ji and the rest of group are heard arriving, Hao Chen makes it seem that Si Feng is trying to kill him. He knows his time in the Mortal Realm is over. So, Hao Chen walks up to Si Feng’s sword which is pointing at him and pierces himself with it.

Destroying The Crystal Lamp

Everyone thinks Si Feng has killed Hao Chen. Before he dies, Hao Chen makes Xuan Ji promise to destroy the crystal lamp. Xuan Ji doesn’t believe Si Feng’s denial. She stabs him with her sword. Wu Zhi Qi brings them out of the secret realm.

However, Si Feng decides to go back when he knows that Xuan Ji is trying to destroy the lamp. Wu Zhi Qi deduces the Heavenly Realm could have done something to Star of Mosha’s stellar soul for it to be so full of resentment and difficult to destroy. Si Feng is worried Xuan Ji will die if she tries to destroy the crystal lamp. Teng She is also back from the Heavenly Realm after having find out the truth.

Si Feng and Wu Zhi Qi arrive back at the secret realm to try to save Xuan Ji. Chief Chu Lei and the rest of the Shaoyang Sect try to stop him as they do not know what is happening. Teng She puts up a barrier to trap Chief Chu Lei and his group from interfering. Si Feng tries his best to break the force that is holding Xuan Ji and draining her energy but is unsuccessful. He then begs Wu Zhi Qi for his Juntian Chehai and use it to break the force and save an unconscious Xuan Ji. In the process, he also uses his golden feathers and all his powers to re-seal the crystal lamp at the risk of his life.

Before leaving with Wu Zhi Qi, Si Feng asks Teng She and everyone not to tell Xuan Ji the truth. Yuan Lang is dead but Ruo Yu has no idea where he has kept his sister. He could only find Yuan Lang’s feather at the place where he was destroyed.

Wu Tong’s Fate

Min Yan is severely injured by Wu Tong when he tries to save Ling Long. Wu Tong escapes when Chief Chu Lei arrives with more disciples. Si Feng has lost his powers and wants to relinquish his position as Chief of Lize Palace but his request is denied. Brother Liu knows Si Feng wants to hide his condition from Xuan Ji and the fact that he could die anytime because of the Juntian Chehai embedded in his body. Si Feng wants to be away from Xuan Ji as far as possible because once the Juntian Chehai breaks out of his body, it could be use to open the crystal lamp and she will become a demon full of resentment.

Xuan Ji awakens but her head is muddled. Teng She can’t help but to tell her the truth about what Si Feng did. She wants to go and ask Si Feng but he has left Lize Palace with his Red Golden Demon Bird clan.

Ling Long goes to look for Wu Tong at Mount Buzhou to kill him. Xuan Ji arrives to help her. Things get chaotic as the cave is collapsing. The gate to the City of Flames also happens to be opened. As Ling Long and Wu Tong fight, he grabs her out of the cave and they get suck towards the City of Flames. Ling Long struggles as she doesn’t want to die with him. At the entrance, Wu Tong tells her that he finally realizes what he wants is her rather than revenge. He makes a last minute decision to push her towards Xuan Ji before he gets sucked through the gate.

Learning The Truth

Xuan Ji pushes Ling Long up to Teng She and gets sucked into the City of Flames instead. As Xuan Ji falls into the River of Forgetfulness, her memories of her past lives come flooding back. She recalls seeing Si Feng at the gate waiting for their rebirth previously. She also learns Si Feng had sacrificed for her for the past 9 lifetimes. They have known each other in the Heavenly Realm and he had protected her then. When she was sent to undergo her tribulations, Si Feng accompanied her. He wanted to console her and reduce her resentment for what the Heavenly Realm did to her.

Teng She pulls Xuan Ji out of the water. She remembers that it is Bailin Dijun who had erased her memories and she was merely a tool of the Heavenly Realm while Si Feng had stood by her. She runs back to Shaoyang Sect when she learns Ting Nu is there to treat Min Yan. Min Yan recovers and reunites with a happy Ling Long. They realize they may have misunderstood Si Feng since Min Yan knows Ruo Yu is alive. Ruo Yu had also admitted some of his wrongdoings.

Xuan Ji asks Ting Nu and Brother Liu about Si Feng’s whereabouts. Brother Liu angrily tells Xuan Ji about Si Feng’s sacrifices for her as well as the Lover’s Curse Mask. Xuan Ji regrets treating Si Feng badly but she doesn’t know where he has gone to now. She arrives at Lize Palace with Teng She to find it empty.

Episode 49 – 52 : Xuan Ji’s Love

Xuan Ji and Teng She meet Wu Zhi Qi but he refuses to let them know where Si Feng is. Wu Zhi Qi asks Xuan Ji why she became rebellious towards the Heavenly Realm after being lured to Devil’s Capital 1,000 years ago. But Xuan Ji cannot recall anymore as her memories had been wiped out. Wu Zhi Qi gives her a fruit to suppress her aura from being easily detected by the 3 realms as protection.

Zi Hu decides to follow Wu Zhi Qi wherever he goes although she is hurt that her love is still unrequited. Ruo Yu uses Yuan Lang’s feather to rouse his spirit to ask about his sister. Yuan Lang lets Ruo Yu know where to look for her. Ruo Yu goes back to Lize Palace to find Ruo Xue and bumps into Yan Ran. But Ruo Xue dies just after being found. They bury her together. Ruo Yu promises Yan Ran to help her to look for a way to break her blood bond with Si Feng without hurting him. She wants to love Si Feng as a free person and not a spiritual pet. Yuan Lang’s spirit is awakened and he now knows who is Star of Mosha from the murals in the Devil’s Capital.

Looking For Si Feng

Xuan Ji seeks permission from her father to leave Mount Shaoyang to look for Si Feng. Chief Chu Lei agrees. She goes to all the places that she had been with Si Feng in the past. Teng She accompanies her. But there is no sign of him. Finally, they seek out Brother Liu for clues. Xuan Ji pleads with him to let her know where Si Feng is. But Brother Liu only knows that Si Feng intends to go South to the icy pool which could suppress his Juntian Chehai powers. Si Feng is resigned that there will be no outcome with regards to his relationship with Xuan Ji after 9 lifetimes.

Xuan Ji and Teng She have been looking for Si Feng for more than a year. They finally found him but see him marrying a woman named Ah Lan instead. Si Feng pretends not to remember Xuan Ji who assumes he must have taken a pill to forget her. She is devastated but consoles herself that it is for the best as that would ensure his lover’s curse wouldn’t be triggered.

However, the wedding is a pretense as Si Feng has been asked by a villager to capture a demon who keeps going after newly married couples. Teng She finds out that the wedding is fake when he overhears his conversation with Ah Lan in the room. They lure him out and confirm that he still can remember Xuan Ji. But he wants Xuan Ji to stay away from him. The demon appears and kidnaps Ah Lan. They chase after the demon.

Reconciliation

The demon has been killing newlyweds due to a personal grudge. Si Feng destroys him and saves Ah Lan. But he tells Xuan Ji that he doesn’t want to be with her anymore. Xuan Ji is hurt but refuses to give up. She keeps trying to convince him of her love. Teng She advises Si Feng to accept Xuan Ji again. He knows that Si Feng is rejecting her because of the Juntian Chehai in his body.

Si Feng wants to know why Xuan Ji can be bother God of War and Star of Mosha. But Teng She also has no idea. He tells Si Feng that the Heavenly Realm is looking for Xuan Ji. Teng She also decides to return to the Heavenly Realm to try to find out Xuan Ji’s fate.

Si Feng pretends to favor Ah Lan and becomes harsh with his words in order to get Xuan Ji to leave as he fears he will die soon. He keeps needing to suppress the Juntian Chehai powers in his body by dipping in the icy pool. But Xuan Ji stubbornly clings to him. She waits for him in freezing snowy weather until she faints. Si Feng has no heart to hurt her anymore. He tells her his true feelings. They kiss and make up. Si Feng’s lover’s curse is lifted. But he still hides from Xuan Ji about his failing health due to the Juntian Chehai.

Eventually, Xuan Ji finds out about it. But they are hoping that a valuable icy ganoderma would be able to cure Si Feng. However, they would have to wait for it to mature.

Yuan Lang’s Spirit

Ruo Yu goes back to Devil’s Capital to destroy Yuan Lang’s spirit but his feather is gone and the coffin is opened. A blackbird keeps following Xuan Ji and Teng She.

Ruo Yu and Yan Ran goes through the Asuras’ records to find how to break her blood bond with Si Feng. They discover a book with some pages having been torn off but some parts are still legible. Yan Ran will need to grow some Gu moths before mixing it with Si Feng’s blood to break the bond. Yun Lang has been quietly leading them along. Ruo Yu has feelings for Yan Ran but she makes it clear to him that she only has Si Feng in her mind.

Bailin Dijun’s Orders

In the Heavenly Realm, Bailin Dijun orders for Xuan Ji and her cronies to be captured including Teng She. They are to be killed if they resist. But they cannot find Xuan Ji or Si Feng due to the aura suppression fruit that Wu Zhi Qi had given them. Hence, Bailin Dijun orders his subordinates to look for Brother Liu instead since he has the Heaven Eye. They extract the eye out of him and finds Xuan Ji.

Teng She returns from the Heavenly Realm and informs SI Feng that the 4 celestial beasts have been sent to hunt for Xuan Ji. One of the beasts, Qing Long, gives Teng She a heads up that the other beasts will be coming for Xuan Ji soon. Teng She vows to protect her. At the same time, Bailin Dijun is summoning the celestial beasts to fight the God of War.

Ruo Yu and Yan Ran arrive with the moths. Si Feng agrees to transfer his blood to break the bond. But they have been manipulated by Yuan Lang. The bond is broken but they become weak and vomit blood. The thunder of tribulations begins to attack them. Ruo Yu and Yan Ran fall unconscious. Si Feng tries to stop the thunder. He nearly loses his life. Xuan Ji transfers some of her energy to him.

Episode 53 – 56 : Star Of Mosha Is Out

The thunder stops. Ruo Yu and Yan Ran awaken. The moths start eating up the ganoderma and is destroyed. Yuan Lang’s spirit appears. He admits that it is his plot to lead Yan Ran with the moths to Si Feng. He also gives Xuan Ji the suggestion to revive Star of Mosha if she wants to save Si Feng. Yan Ran is devastated at what she has done. Si Feng wants her to leave him now that she is a free person.

The 4 celestial beasts come to arrest Xuan Ji. A fight ensues. Yan Ran blocks a weapon aiming at Si Feng. She is heavily injured. Xuan Ji defeats the celestial beasts which flee when Wu Zhi Qi also turns up. Yan Ran apologizes to Si Feng before she dies. He is sad because she was also a friend. Ruo Yu takes her body away for burial.

Retrieving The Lamp

Si Feng is becoming weaker. Ting Nu says Si Feng only has a month to live. Brother Liu worries about Yu’Er who is now missing after being dragged into his feud with the Heavenly Realm. Xuan Ji wants to revive Star of Mosha to save Si Feng as the Juntian Chehai will then go back to the original owner. But Si Feng makes her promise not to do so to avoid plunging the realms into potential chaos.

Nevertheless, Xuan Ji decides to open crystal lamp anyway. She asks Wu Zhi Qi to help her. She also wants to investigate why the Heavenly Realm keeps targeting her and the secret they are harboring. Xuan Ji could feel that she has suffered an injustice and has been made use of as God of War. Teng She is ordered back to the Heavenly Realm.

Si Feng bids Ah Lan farewell when she drops by. He follows Xuan Ji back to Mount Shaoyang to celebrate her father’s birthday. Xuan Ji also wants to take the opportunity to get married to him no matter how much time he has left. Si Feng agrees to her wishes but Chief Chu Lei is reluctant to give his blessings. Min Yan and Ling Long apologize to Si Feng for past misunderstandings.

Bailin Dijun imprisons Teng She and refuses to answer why God of War and Star of Mosha share same primordial spirit. But Qing Long frees him when he hears that Bailin Dijun will be destroying the whole of Mount Shaoyang to kill Xuan Ji.

Xuan Ji cooperates with Wu Zhi Qi to retrieve the crystal lamp. But Si Feng takes it off her to stop her from opening it up. The lamp then flies off his hand as Bailin Dijun snatches it away from the sky.

Xuan Ji Learns Who She Is

The Heavenly Realm is preparing the formation of destruction. Xuan Ji finally knows Hao Chen is Bailin Dijun and she had been punished by him while in the Heavenly Realm. He had used her as a pawn to destroy the lamp and is now sacrificing peoples’ lives to kill her. When Bailin Dijun starts destroying the crystal lamp, Xuan Ji becomes weaker. Si Feng summons all his powers to stop Bailin Dijun and Wu Zhi Qi snatches it away.

Then, Yuan Lang’s spirit appears. He asks her to revive Star of Mosha because that is who she is and why Si Feng had pretended to be him. It all started when Bailin Dijun lied to and tricked Star of Mosha and extracted his stellar soul. He cut off his 2 ribs to make weapons and sealed his soul in the crystal lamp. Then, he used Star of Mosha’s body to make the God of War with the heart being a small corner of the crystal lamp that he had cut out.

Bailin Dijun gets rid of Yuan Lang for speaking too much. Xuan Ji understands why he discouraged her from seeking her 6 senses. His excuse is he is doing it to save the 3 realms. Bailin Dijun starts to Si Feng. Xuan Ji opens crystal lamp and asks Si Feng not to forget her. The Juntian Chehai exits Si Feng and enters Xuan Ji’s body. She turns into Star of Mosha Luohou Jidu who is a totally different person. Star of Mosha throws Xuan Ji’s hairpin back to Si Feng. He also vows to take back what is his.

Suppressed By Star Of Mosha

Star of Mosha returns to Devil’s Capital. He revives Yuan Lang and orders Wu Zhi Qi not to indulge in internal conflict until the Heavenly Realm is destroyed. Star of Mosha prepares for an attack against the Heavenly Realm and kills anyone who opposes his idea. Xuan Ji is being controlled by Star of Mosha’s soul and is trapped in his body.

Si Feng confronts Star of Mosha who insists that Xuan Ji’s memories is just a tiny fragment of his whole being. He is adamant on saving her and believes that she and Star of Mosha have become different entities after so many lifetimes although they share the same primordial spirit. Xuan Ji struggles to be let out inside Star of Mosha’s soul. Si Feng offers to help Star of Mosha to stay close to him in order to save Xuan Ji. Star of Mosha gives Si Feng the Bell of Fell Heaven which can open up the gates to the Heavenly Realm. Yuan Lang is not happy with the decision.

Si Feng transfers his own energy to the bell instead of sucking up the qi of the prisoners. He sets them free. When the time comes to open up the gates of the Heavenly Realm, Si Feng is imprisoned for refusing to join the battle. Zi Hu unsuccessfully asks Wu Zhi Qi to leave the chaos behind but he insists on revenge. She is afraid that she will lose him again during the battle.

Deal With Star of Mosha

Bailin Dijun orders for the Sea of Life and Death to be used to block the demons from entering the Heavenly Realm although this will cause all the mortals to die. A strike from the formation is coming towards Wu Zhi Qi. Zi Hu blocks it with her body. Before she dies, she makes Wu Zhi Qi promise her that he will never fight again. He agrees and goes back to free Si Feng from the prison.

But Star of Mosha stops them. He wants Si Feng to give up his clansmen as he needs the demon cores of the Red Golden Demon Bird clan to cross the Sea of Life and Death. Si Feng declines and Wu Zhi Qi comes to his defense. Eventually, they strike a deal. Si Feng will try to summon Xuan Ji from Star of Mosha’s body within 3 days. If he fails, he will give up his clansmen.

Si Feng brings up their past. He trusts Xuan Ji is listening to him and Star of Mosha cannot control everything in his mind. However, Si Feng is tricked to reveal his clansmen’s location instead. When Star of Mosha tries to kill Si Feng for disrespect, Xuan Ji struggles inside and momentarily breaks out of his body before being being suppressed again. She won’t allow him to kill Si Feng but Star of Mosha warns him not to push his luck.

Bailin Dijun’s Betrayal

Star of Mosha is struggling to control Xuan Ji. He tells her that they should make those who had wronged them pay for their sins. Xuan Ji’s family also comes to confront Star of Mosha to talk to Xuan Ji. He spares their lives and gives them an artifact to build a barrier to protect against the Heavenly Realm’s destruction. This convinces Si Feng that Xuan Ji can influence Star of Mosha. Si Feng asks him to forget the hatred.

So, Star of Mosha shows him who God of War is. The body is full of scars because Bailin Dijun had changed his appearance. Star of Mosha and Bailin Dijun used to be good friends although they belong to different camps. But Bailin Dijun was afraid of losing the war without a capable general. So, he drugged Star of Mosha’s wine and turned him into a celestial being instead who would only obey him. Bailin Dijun cut out his heart and sealed his stellar soul which was why Xuan Ji had no senses. He created God of War from Star of Mosha and used her to kill his own clansmen.

Hence, the hatred is sown. Si Feng could now understand the depth of the resentment.

Si Feng’s Original Identity

Teng She returns to help Si Feng. He has stolen a crystal lamp and some juice from the Heavenly Realm which supposedly could reseal Star of Mosha. Yuan Lang has captured the Red Golden Demon Bird clan. Star of Mosha wants to attack the Heavenly Realm again.

Si Feng is tempted to use the crystal lamp Teng She has given him to reseal Star of Mosha but changes his mind at the last minute. But Star of Mosha already knows about the lamp and shows him that it is Heavenly Realm’s underhanded tactic to kill them. Bailin Dijun had tricked Teng She to give the items to Si Feng. Teng She is uneasy about Bailin Dijun’s plan.

Si Feng persuades Star of Mosha to just confront Bailin Dijun rather than engaging in a full-blown war. He volunteers to go to the Heavenly Realm to get Bailin Dijun to meet Star of Mosha so that they could settle their grudges privately without causing chaos in the 3 realms. Qing Long tries to persuade Teng She to forget about helping Xuan Ji. Teng She escapes with his badge instead and helps Si Feng to see Bailin Dijun.

When Si Feng could overcome the Heavenly Realm’s spell, Bailin Dijun detects that he is Xi Xuan who is the son of the Heavenly Emperor. He was a celestial Red Golden Bird. Xi Xuan was willing to lose his 10,000-year-old celestial form to protect God of War and accompanied her during her 10 tribulations.

Episode 57 – 59 : The Heavenly Emperor Appears

Xi Xuan’s mother was a demon princess who was betrothed to the Heavenly Emperor in good faith in peace time. When the war started, his mother sided with the demons. Si Feng makes a bet and asks Bailin Dijun to meet Star of Mosha to apologize. If Star of Mosha comes in peace, Bailin Dijun should also let go and not cause him trouble anymore. If he tries to kill anyone, then Si Feng will become a devil with him and be vanquished. Bailin Dijun agrees to the deal.

Si Feng asks his friends to get Wu Zhi Qi to see the Heavenly Emperor in case Bailin Dijun breaks his word and fight happens. Star of Mosha agrees not to attack the Heavenly Realm if Bailin Dijun keeps his word. Wu Zhi Qi is sad over Zi Hu’s death and becomes withdrawn. Brother Liu persuades him to bring them see to see the Heavenly Emperor in Mount Kunlun. Together with Min Yan and Ling Long, they are set for the trip. Ruo Yu begs for forgiveness and asks them to bring him along. They encounter various challenges to get up to Mount Kunlun.

Bailin Dijun Orders An Attack

Si Feng flies Star of Mosha through the Sea of Life and Death to get to the Heavenly Realm to see Bailin Dijun as agreed. But they are attacked on the way there. Si Feng protects Star of Mosha from arrows. They fall together into the River of Forgetfulness. Star of Mosha recalls peace was brokered when the Asuras surrendered. But Bailin Dijun still ordered God of War to eliminate all the demons. She felt strange when she killed the King of Asuras who called her a traitor. She asked Ting Nu about her memories but he had no idea about her origins.

Then, Wu Zhi Qi lured her to Devil’s Capital. The murals led her to the truth. She had killed her own clansmen. The Heavenly Emperor found out too late what Bailin Dijun had done. Bailin Dijun also ordered his minions to change the records in the Hall of Fates to hide God of War’s origins from the other celestials. The God of War then got angry and retaliated. She demanded answers from Bailin Dijun and wanted to kill him. But he used Star of Mosha’s stellar soul in the crystal lamp to weaken her and sent her to be punished.

Battle Starts

Star of Mosha awakens and lifts Si Feng up from the river to the Heavenly Realm. He starts killing and clears the Sea of Life and Death for his Asuras army to advance. A battle starts. Star of Mosha confronts Bailin Dijun and accuses him of wanting to control others. Bailin Dijun couldn’t subdue the Star of Mosha but he is hiding his physical self. Star of Mosha lets out God of War who knows how to bring out the Hongmeng Furnace which will force Bailin Dijun out into the open. She is turning the furnace over which will cause mass destruction and reset all the 3 realms. Si Feng tries to stop her from destroying it.

Wu Zhi Qi and the rest successfully meet the Heavenly Emperor. Ling Long manages to get him to help save the 3 realms. They go back to the Heavenly Realm just in time. The Emperor accuses Bailin Dijun of being obsessed. The cause and effect of his actions has resulted in mass destruction. If he didn’t drug Star of Mosha, then there would have been peace. If he didn’t go to the Mortal Realm, the tribulation would have ended with a happy ending for Xuan Ji and Si Feng. It is his own inner demon that has caused all the havoc. Bailin Dijun regrets his action. He strips away his own powers and cease to be a celestial.

Destroying The Hongmeng Furnace

However, Star of Mosha still wants to destroy the furnace. They try to persuade and give him a picture of painful loss of love, family, and friends. The Heavenly Emperor advises him to think twice as he starts to waver. Yuan Lang encourages him to go ahead and not to be swayed. But Star of Mosha doesn’t trust him and knows his bad intention. Yuan Lang then tries to destroy the furnace himself.

Si Feng holds the furnace from turning over. He wants to preserve Xuan Ji’s memories. Yuan Lang stabs his heart. Star of Mosha turns to God of War as she tries to heal him. Si Feng has wagered with Bailin Dijun that she has a heart and won’t destroy the 3 realms. He feels it is worth it to exchange his heart for hers. Si Feng also asks her to protect the 3 realms because they contain a lot of their memories before he dies. The sadness and desperation make God of War changes back to Xuan Ji.

Yuan Lang attempts to destroy the furnace again. Xuan Ji stops Yuan Lang while Ruo Yu stabs him to avenge for all the sufferings that Yuan Lang had caused him. Yuan Lang wants to be ruler of the 3 realms. He pushes Ruo Yu off which makes him fall to his death. Xuan Ji crushes Yuan Lang to death. She holds the furnace from tilting over and asks the Heavenly Emperor to help her to set it back up.

The Ending

Bailin Dijun had lost his wager with Xi Xuan. He asks Xuan Ji to kill him. She refuses as she doesn’t want to be trapped by hatred. Star of Mosha comes out of her body. He planted his half of her crystal heart in Si Feng. But it will depend on his fate whether he will awaken. Star of Mosha gives Bailin Dijun poisoned wine to drink before both of them disappears. He feels Bailin Dijun deserves his fate as there should be justice for him and everyone that he had harmed.

The Emperor orders all the 3 realms to live in harmony. He also tells Brother Liu that Yu’Er is waiting for him at home. Brother Liu reunites with his daughter. Zi Hu is waiting to cross the Channel of Karma. She will drink from the River of Forgetfulness and won’t remember Wu Zhi Qi in her next life. Wu Zhi Qi rushes there to find her. He hugs her and tells her not to leave him again. Xuan Ji brings Si Feng back and takes care of him until he finally awakens. They get married with her father’s blessings.

It is 3 years later and they are celebrating Chief Chu Lei’s birthday. Ling Long is pregnant. Si Feng and Xuan Ji already have a baby. Everyone is feeling happy. Xuan Ji recalls being given a choice by the Heavenly Emperor to be a celestial, demon, or mortal since her life was created and not governed by the heavens. She prefers being a mortal with a happy life with friends and family as well as Si Feng.

If you want more fantasy romance dramas after Love And Redemption, there are a few you could check out. The most famous of them all is, of course, Eternal Love Ten Miles Of Peach Blossoms. This has one of the highest viewerships around the globe for Chinese dramas. It is an epic tale of love that spans 3 lives in 3 different worlds. Its sequel, Eternal Love Of Dream, is another popular drama that focuses on the second couple’s story. In actual fact, there is little relation between the 2 dramas. You can certainly just watch one without the other and you will still be able to follow the story.

I like Love And Destiny too which is a spin-off of Ten Miles Of Peach Blossoms. However, not many people enjoy this as much due to the older actor and other factors. But the story is compelling to me despite it being a little slow-moving for some. Lastly, if you are a Yang Mi fan, Legend Of Fuyao is another epic romance saga that deserves a mention. It is not as popular but I did enjoy the pairing of Ethan Juan and Yang Mi in this one.
