Episode 1 – 5

The story begins with the wedding of Tian Yao and Su Ying. Tian Yao is the Dragon King of the Spirits Clan while Su Ying is the leader of Guanghan Sect of the Taoist Clan. Tian Yao fell in love with Su Ying but she deceived him. Her real intention was to get his Heart Protecting Scale to save her lover’s life. Hence, she stabbed him and tried to kill him during their wedding.

With his last remaining strength, Tian Yao extracted his Heart Protecting Scale from his chest and launched it into the sky to prevent Su Ying from getting it. Su Ying then dismembered Tian Yao’s dragon body and sealed up the various parts in different locations. These included his bones, horns, veins, and heart. Tian Yao managed to survive with the last strand of his soul. But he was heavily injured and lost all his cultivation.

On the same night, a mother abandoned her baby who was born with a defective heart. Tian Yao’s Heart Protecting Scale fell on the baby and was implanted into her. That baby is Yan Hui and she managed to live because of the scale’s protection. Yan Hui was subsequently taken in by Ling Xiao who is a Taoist and the leader of Chenxing Mountain. She became his disciple.

20 Years Later

Ling Xiao expelled Yan Hui from Chenxing Mountain due to her disagreement with the sect elders over the mistreatment of spirits captured. After leaving the mountain, she ran into Tian Yao who wanted to retrieve his Heart Protecting Scale. But he couldn’t without his cultivation powers as her master had sealed it up inside her heart with a formation. However, he still needed her blood to help him to open the barrier to retrieve his dragon bones.

After doing so, Yan Hui wanted to go separate ways with Tian Yao. Her plan was to go to another city to look for her friend called Xian Ge since she had nowhere else to go after being expelled. But her fate was tied together with Tian Yao. This is because if Tian Yao dies, the Heart Protecting Scale will also lose its powers and Yan Hui’s life would also be at risk. This forced them to stick together as Yan Hui traveled to see Xian Ge who is the owner of an entertainment business.

Yan Hui wanted to look for a way to fix her defective heart so that she can return the Heart Protecting Scale and cut ties with Tian Yao. But before she could do so, Su Ying had used Tian Yao’s dragon horns to lure him out since she knew he is still alive. In the meantime, Bai Xiao Sheng, who is a Shadow Spirit was looking for a pair of spirit and human lovers for a trial to test their love for each other.

Episode 6 – 10

These few episodes see Yan Hui and Tian Yao working closer together to regain his dragon body parts. Yan Hui found out that Tian Yao could fill the missing piece of her defective heart once he regains his Dragon King powers. Thus, it made sense for her to help him. She also starts to feel affected by him whenever they are in close proximity. They are helped along by Bai Xiao Sheng who has his own agenda to see them being real lovers and genuinely committed to each other.

New characters are also introduced in Episode 6 namely Feng Qian Shuo, who has feelings for Xian Ge, and Feng Ming. Feng Qian Shuo is Feng Ming’s nephew. The family operated an incense business called Tianxiang Workshop which was being managed by Feng Ming. But behind the facade, Feng Ming was using the business to cover up his cooperation with Guanghan Sect to confine and torture captured spirits. This included the princess of Qing Qiu who was also General Lu’s wife. Qing Qiu is the 9-tailed fox tribe.

Who Is General Lu?

General Lu was Su Ying’s lover in the past. But during a mission to keep the city safe from evil spirits, he was injured and lost his memory. He was saved by the Qing Qiu princess and they became a loving married couple. Su Ying captured the princess to extract her essence. This was to make an elixir to cure General Lu’s amnesia by leveraging on the powers of the dragon horns. Su Ying thought General Lu would return to her once he regains his memory and knows that his wife is a fox spirit. But General Lu didn’t mind his wife’s identity at all as he loved her deeply. This incensed Su Ying who killed the princess.

With General Lu’s deteriorating health, Su Ying wanted the Heart Protecting Scale badly to save his life. So, she forced Tian Yao and Yan Hui to come out of hiding with a forbidden spell. Tian Yao decided to confront Su Ying directly with the limited powers that he had since he regained his dragon bones. This would then allow Yan Hui time to retrieve the dragon horns.

Episode 11 – 15

Yan Hui didn’t have enough powers to break Su Ying’s formation that kept the dragon horns sealed up. Hence, she got Bai Xiao Sheng to transfer some of his dark powers to her to break the formation. They managed to retrieve the dragon horns for Tian Yao as a result. With the dragon horns and the help of other spirits, they managed to save Tian Yao from Su Ying’s clutch. General Lu also slashed himself to stop Su Ying from pursuing Tian Yao. Su Ying stubbornly used her powers to keep General Lu alive.

After the danger was over, Xian Ge and Feng Qian Shuo became a couple. She decided to return to Qing Qiu to inform them what happened to their princess. Xian Ge was brought up by the tribe and was grateful to them. At the same time, Yan Hui was experiencing mood swings due to the dark powers she got from Bai Xiao Sheng to retrieve the dragon horns. This forced Tian Yao to forcibly extract his Dragon Flaming Fang sword to expel the dark aura from her mind.

What Was Bai Xiao Sheng’s Motive?

Bai Xiao Sheng’s dark aura made Tian Yao suspicious of him especially after their experience in the Misty Forest. Some dark forces had pulled Yan Hui’s disciple brother and Bai Xiao Sheng into the forest and Yan Hui was compelled to save them. In the process, she met Xiao Yan who is a Phantom spirit.

In the forest, Bai Xiao Sheng was entrapped in an illusory dream pertaining to his childhood before he was woken up by Yan Hui. He was actually deemed an evil child at birth and was abandoned by his mother as a sacrificial offering to the Dark Lord to keep the village safe from harm. The Dark Lord was sealed up in a cave in the forest. He warned Bai Xiao Sheng to complete his mission to retrieve the Ghostly Eulogy from Qing Qiu which could free him and this requires a pair of human-spirit lovers. That is why Bai Xian Sheng tried to matchmake Yan Hui and Tian Yao although he began to develop feelings for Yan Hui himself.

After the incident, Tian Yao brought Yan Hui back to Dragon Valley. He wanted to wield the Dragon Flaming Fang sword again. But the sword could only be wielded by someone with a pure mind which Tian Yao did not have after Su Ying’s betrayal. He also had a lot of guilt in him because many elves died to protect him that night. Consequently, Tian Yao was adamant that he has no feelings for Yan Hui which disappointed her. Yan Hui already knew that she had fallen for him in Episode 14.

Yan Hui tried her best to make Tian Yao come to terms with his past. Tian Yao got angry with her intrusion but she told him that she is pained by his suffering.

Ep 16 – 20

Yan Hui confessed her feelings to Tian Yao but he rejected her. He wanted her to have a peaceful life. By rejecting her, he would be protecting her as he didn’t want her to be drawn into his quest for revenge. With his altruistic motive and clear mind, the Dragon Flaming Fang sword was his to wield again.

With the sword, Tian Yao could cleanse away the dark aura of the Phantom King. The latter revealed that the dark practitioner was the mysterious Visual Spell Master from Qing Qiu. He would lure people into the forest and torture them until they die to gather their dark aura. The Phantom clan was also trapped within his spell and Bai Xiao Sheng’s Shadow Clan was also a victim.

As Su Ying didn’t want General Lu to die, she became desperate for the Heart Protecting Scale. She was obsessed with him although he still preferred death over her after consuming the elixir and regaining his memories. Su Ying then went to Dragon Valley and took the elves hostage to force Tian Yao to surrender the artifact. Tian Yao had no choice but to stab Yan Hui to get back the heart in desperation. With the heart, Tian Yao was able to regain more powers. Together with the anger in him, he defeated Su Ying and froze her up in a layer of ice in Episode 17.

Yan Hui Feared Tian Yao

After saving the elves, Tian Yao rushed back to save Yan Hui but she was already taken away by Bai Xiao Sheng. The latter had no choice but to ask the Dark Lord to save Yan Hui’s life. The Dark Lord did so but forced Yan Hui to get him the Heart Protecting Scale in exchange. She was given 3 months to do so failing which she will die.

Knowing that the seal surrounding her heart had been broken, Yan Hui’s master, Ling Xiao, confronted Tian Yao. He pursued him to the Misty Forest but ended up being quietly entrapped by the Dark Lord’s subordinate.

After leaving Misty Forest with Bai Xiao Sheng, Yan Hui wanted to go to Qing Qiu to look for the secret to get rid of the dark forces inside her body and free herself from the Dark Lord’s control. She also didn’t want to have anything to do with Tian Yao anymore after what he had done to her. In fact, she feared him and told him to leave her alone. Tian Yao promised to do so once she is safe.

On the way to Qing Qiu, they met the Crown Prince of the tribe named Zhu Li. They also came across his late mother’s geometric compass. Zhu Li’s mother was Xue Lin who was the Queen of Qing Qiu. She was also a Taoist from Chenxing Mountain. The Ghostly Eulogy was her work and she was into neutralizing the dark powers.

Qing Qiu

At Qing Qiu, Tian Yao was treated as a respected guest. The regent of Qing Qiu, Chang Lan, was his friend and Zhu Li’s uncle. The Ghostly Eulogy was hidden behind a mysterious screen which had already been stolen by Bai Xiao Sheng earlier. His plan was to use the Ghostly Eulogy to trade with the Dark Lord for Yan Hui’s freedom. However, the Ghostly Eulogy can only be retrieved after a series of tests which included a couple test.

Yan Hui and Bai Xiao Sheng pretended to be a couple to pass the test but failed. She then suggested that they try to be a real couple instead to fulfill the criteria. But the feelings were just not there on her part to make it work naturally.

Episode 21 – 25

As Zhu Li tinkered with his mother’s compass, it flew off in the direction of his father’s retreat. His father is Chen Yi who is the Qing Qiu King. But everyone was told that Chen Yi had secluded himself to cultivate for the last 10 years. Zhu Li and Xiao Yan followed the compass which can detect dark aura. They bumped into Zhao Yu who is the tribe’s defense chief. Zhao Yu destroyed the compass which made Zhu Li suspicious.

With the compass destroyed, the screen and realm beyond it to retrieve the Ghostly Eulogy became unstable. Yan Hui and Bai Xiao Sheng had no choice but to let Tian Yao tag along to increase the chances of getting the treasure before the realm collapsed. Yan Hui and Tian Yao managed to pass the test due to their trust of each other while Bai Xiao Sheng was kicked out. They got the Ghostly Eulogy but the elder in charged, Yan Bu Huo, imposed the condition that the couple have to get married before he would translate its contents for them. Yan Hui had no choice but to agree. However, she only regarded the marriage as an act. She also rejected Bai Xiao Sheng who confessed to her in Episode 22.

Wedding

Zhao Yu tried to steal the Ghostly Eulogy but failed. Yan Hui and Tian Yao lured Zhao Yu to expose himself during their wedding. But the actual Visual Spell Master was Chang Lan. Chang Lan and Chen Yi are twins. But Qing Qiu’s rule dictates that the younger royal twin must be imprisoned and his eyes gorged out to ensure the tribe’s stability. That is why Chang Lan is blind. However, Chen Yi was softhearted towards his brother and granted him freedom. Chang Lan left Qing Qiu and when he returned, he was a changed man.

Zhao Yu treated Chang Lan like his own child and willingly did his bidding. After he was exposed, he willingly died to cover up for Chang Lan as requested. Chang Lan also confined Bai Xiao Sheng when the latter found out that Chang Lan was the Dark Lord’s subordinate just like him. He was freed by Tian Yao and Yan Hui. They learned that Chang Lan been confining Chen Yi for the last 10 years. However, Chen Yi had managed to escape but his whereabouts was unknown.

Chang Lan then cast a spell to give the illusion that Yan Hui had killed Chen Yi. Tian Yao protected her and the couple became Qing Qiu’s enemies. This forced them to escape and they met up with Xian Ge again. They then left together to look for Chen Yi who is also Xian Ge’s adoptive father. In the process, Tian Yao and Yan Hui were captured by the eccentric Ying Huo on Chang Lan’s orders.

Episode 26 – 30

Tian Yao and Yan Hi were saved by Chen Yi. Chen Yi also translated the Ghostly Eulogy for Yan Hui. The original copy had been given to Bai Xiao Sheng to present to the Dark Lord since the former is still under the latter’s control. The eulogy is Xue Lin’s study into a cultivation method to counter the dark aura. However, it won’t be able to free Yan Hui from the Dark Lord’s control. She can only level up her cultivation to become stronger so that she can then suppress the Dark Lord’s powers.

While practicing the cultivation of Ghostly Eulogy, the Dark Lord created havoc in Yan Hui’s mind. In the illusion, she thought Tian Yao died to protect her. Thus, when she awakened, she was relieved to see Tian Yao and confessed her feelings. In actual fact, Tian Yao did destroy the flower embedded on her head that the Dark Lord used to control Yan Hui. She would have died once the flower is destroyed. But Bai Xiao Sheng arrived just in time to shoot out the Heart Protecting Scale from Tian Yao and embedded it into Yan Hui. Hence, she was saved. Yan Hui also embarked on a relationship with Tian Yao in Episode 27.

The Dark Lord

Xue Lin was the Dark Lord’s love interest. From Bai Xiao Sheng, Tian Yao and Yan Hui learned that the Dark Lord had a protective robe on him that prevented him from getting injured by foreign objects. As a shadow spirit, Bai Xiao Sheng could isolate his body from all things in the world. So, the Dark Lord had used Bai Xiao Sheng’s true effigy to create the shadow robe. He could also make Bai Xiao Sheng suffer by scraping on the robe.

Through Chen Yi, they also found out that Xue Lin had tricked the Dark Lord to meet up with her. Together with Master Qing Guang (the founder of Chenxing Mountain Sect and Ling Xiao’s master), the 3 of them had wanted to seal up the Dark Lord in Xue Lin’s compass. But the Dark Lord fought back. Therefore, Master Qing Guang used his own body as the vessel instead to seal up the Dark Lord. Master Qing Guang then sealed himself up at a peak in Chenxing Mountain.

The Dark Lord now wanted to start a war between the Taoist and spirit clans so that more dark aura can be gathered to tip the balance in his favor. Bai Xiao Sheng thought he could seal up the communication channel between the Dark Lord and Chang Lan who was supposed to provoke a war between the 2 camps. However, Bai Xiao Sheng was captured instead. Fortunately, the combined powers of Chen Yi, Tian Yao, Yan Hui, and Xiao Yan defeated Chang Lan. Chang Lan chose to die rather than being imprisoned after his defeat. His sacrifice also helped to create a crack in Master Qing Guang’s seal.

Su Ying’s Reawakening

With the Heart Protecting Scale back in her body, Yan Hui started to learn the dragon way of cultivation instead of the Ghostly Eulogy. Ling Xiao was freed from the Misty Forest trap by Master Qing Guang’s spirit. He had to promise his master to destroy the Heart Protecting Scale because the Dark Lord also wanted it to break out from his seal.

General Lu arrived at Qing Qiu with his wife’s cenotaph and hair to see Chen Yi. He also returned to Tian Yao his dragon scale armor. General Lu welcomed fate to take his life and be free. With the dark aura gaining strength, Tian Yao wanted to regain his body parts and full powers. Together with Yan Hui, they left for Sanchong Mountains to retrieve his dragon veins. This had been sealed by Su Ying underneath some lava.

Pu Fang, a physician from Qing Qiu, secretly followed Yan Hui and Tian Yao to cross the river to see her love interest, Xi Feng. Xi Feng was a Chenxing Mountain Sect disciple. Pu Fang was captured by Ling Fei and killed. Xi Feng also killed himself as a result. The Chenxing Mountain Sect disciples were dissatisfied with Ling Fei and unwilling to listen to her orders which infuriated her.

This gave room for the Dark Lord’s subordinate to push her to awaken Su Ying because Ling Fei was a nobody without her sister’s powers. Ling Fei was tricked to give up her spiritual powers and all her cultivation was sucked from her to awaken Su Ying.

Heart Protecting Scale

Su Ying then confronted Tian Yao and Yan Hui as they were trying to retrieve the dragon veins. She noticed his dragon scale armor which prompted Tian Yao to remark that he had killed General Lu. By doing so, he hoped to free General Lu from her clutches. Tian Yao then fell down into the lava depths as they battled it out. Before Su Ying could kill Yan Hui, the latter was taken away by Ling Xiao. Ling Xiao brought Yan Hui back to Chenxing Mountain and tied her up.

He was pressured to destroy the Heart Protecting Scale by whipping her and shattering her mind’s eye and cultivation powers. Su Ying was also there and pressured Ling Xiao to kill Yan Hui whom she accused of betraying the Taoists by colluding with Tian Yao who is a spirit. Ling Xiao was reluctant to do so as she was his disciple.

Episode 31 – 35

Ling Xiao staggered out the whipping punishment to ensure Yan Hui lives. But Ling Fei was bewitched by the Dark Lord and her hatred of Yan Hui who had always gone against her. She accepted the Dark Lord’s powers and proceeded to open up the formation to kill Yan Hui. Trapped underneath the lava formation, Tian Yao could feel Yan Hui getting weaker and dying through he Heart Protecting Scale. He activated the life swapping spell and exchanged his life for hers. His spirit took her away from Chenxing Mountain before fading away. His body lied motionless beneath the lava.

Due to the punishment, Yan Hui lost her cultivation and mind’s eye. As Su Ying and Ling Xiao arrived, she jumped into the Obsidian River to prevent them from getting her Heart Protecting Scale and presumed dead. Ling Xiao was angry with Ling Fei for killing Yan Hui. When he found that she had become a dark practitioner, he destroyed her cultivation and wanted to kill her. Su Ying prevented Ling Xiao from doing so and brought her sister back to Guanghan Sect. But she subsequently killed Ling Fei when she murdered some of the sect members to gather more dark aura for the Dark Lord.

Yan Hui’s Dark Powers

At the bottom of the Obsidian River, Yan Hui’s Heart Protecting Scale attracted dark forces to it. Hence, she survived and used the dark aura to practice the Ghostly Eulogy cultivation. She mastered it and became a powerful dark practitioner who can absorb and control the dark aura. With her powers, she saved Tian Yao from the bottom of the lava formation and retrieved his dragon veins. Once she implanted the veins in him, his lifeless body turned into a dragon egg.

Ling Xiao was full of guilt when he realized that he had been tricked by the Dark Lord. The Dark Lord had slowly devoured Master Qing Guang for the last 10 years. What was left was only the master’s shell. Hence, when he was trapped in Misty Forest, the apparition that appeared before him was not his real master. The Dark Lord had taken control of his master’s body to trick Ling Xiao into destroying the Heart Protecting Scale and kill Tian Yao along with it. This is because the Heart Protecting Scale and Tian Yao were the powers that could stop him from breaking out of his seal and take over the world.

Tian Yao’s Rebirth

Yan Hui took the dragon egg back to Qing Qiu. Chen Yi taught her to gather all of Tian Yao’s consciousness so that he would live inside the egg. But upon hatching, Tian Yao was like a newborn dragon spirit with no memories of the past. Yan Hui’s dark aura was also incompatible with Tian Yao’s dragon spirit. Hence, touching him could scald her at times but she hid it from him.

In order to make regain his memories, Yan Hui brought Tian Yao back to the village where they first met. Ling Xiao followed them although she hated him for what he had done to her. They also met Master Qi Yun at the village. Master Qi Yun is a Taoist who had been missing for a long time and seemed to be under Master Qing Guang’s spell. Tian Yao possessed the special powers to cure her but didn’t have the knowledge on how to exercise them. He asked Ling Xiao to teach him which opened up his ability to unleash his power.

Ling Xiao also apologized to Yan Hui for his mistake. He also told her that it was Master QIng Guang who had placed a seal on her Heart Protecting Scale when she first arrived at Chenxing Mountain so that no one would know and covet it. Master Qing Guang had also told Ling Xiao to expel Yan Hui from the mountain once the seal starts to show signs of instability. Ling Xiao had wanted to protect her but also the sect and the world. Yan Hui understood her master’s burdens but still felt awkward to acknowledge him as her master again so soon.

Episode 36 – 40

Tian Yao used his dragon fire to unseal Master Qing Guang’s spell over Master Qi Yun. But this backfired. When Master Qing Guang’s spell was broken, it triggered the Dark Lord’s curse inside Master Qi Yun. Yan Hui used her powers to absorb the dark aura from Master Qi Yun to save her. Upon her awakening, Master Qi Yun explained that she had been looking for the dark aura in Misty Forest 15 years ago when she stumbled upon Master Qing Guang’s duel with the Dark Lord. She tried to help but was attacked by the Dark Lord who infused the dark aura in her.

Master Qing Guang sealed the dark aura inside Master Qi Yun to buy her time to get help. He told her to get assistance to awaken Tian Yao who was the only one who could possibly defeat the Dark Lord. Yan Hui was expelled from the mountain because it would then made it possible for Tian Yao to detect the Heart Protecting Scale and retrieve it to regain his powers.

The Dark Lord had been using Bai Xiao Sheng’s true effigy to fuse it with his primordial spirit as a way to escape from the seal. He then implanted it into Bai Xiao Sheng to make him a puppet. Bai Xiao Sheng was then told to inform Su Ying that General Lu was still alive in Qing Qiu.

Dragon Heart

Su Ying went to Qing Qiu and killed Chen Yi who was trying to stop her from taking away General Lu. She also took away Xiao Yan back to Guanghan Sect because she has the special spiritual powers to refine people’s memories. Su Ying wanted to refine and store General Lu’s memories in a bead so that she can reconstruct him once he dies.

Yan Hui and Tian Yao battled Su Ying to allow Zhu Li to save Xiao Yan and General Lu. They also discovered that his dragon heart was just beneath Guanghan Sect. While they fought, General Lu pierced Su Ying with a sword to stop her. She dropped the bead containing his memories and he crushed it. General Lu then chose to die by asking Tian Yao to burn him with his dragon fire. Su Ying was devastated but still spiteful. She returned Tian Yao’s dragon heart to him and forced it into his body before she died. She wanted him to share the same fate as her which is being unable to be with the one they love.

This is because with his dragon heart, Tian Yao had regained all his body parts, powers, and memories. The power was unleashed when Su Ying forcefully embedded the heart in him. His spiritual dragon powers will automatically repel the dark aura in Yan Hui. The powerful effect sucked Yan Hui into the Dark Lord’s mind’s eye.

The Dark Lord’s Mind

Inside the Dark Lord’s mind, Yan Hui could see his life story. He was an orphan who was once saved by Xue Lin. But he got obsessed with her and wanted her sole attention.The Dark Lord felt betrayed when he found Xue Lin and Chen Yi together. He wanted to be more powerful and was eyeing Tian Yao’s inner core but got injured by him instead. He then identified Bai Xiao Sheng as the effigy needed to make himself the shadow robe. When Xue Lin tricked him to meet up, the Dark Lord ended up being sealed inside Master Qing Guang’s body.

However, he slowly took control over the master’s body and used his shell to trick Su Ying. He first rendered General Lu unconscious and then told her that Tian Yao’s dragon scale armor could prolong General Lu’s life. This led to Su Ying to try to kill Tian Yao on their wedding night. The Dark Lord was there in the guise of Master Qing Guang to help Su Ying as he was after Tian Yao’s inner core. But a strike from Tian Yao awoken Master Qing Guang momentarily which foiled the Dark Lord’s plan.

In order to save Yan Hui, Tian Yao required Bai Xiao Sheng’s help. He lifted the Dark Lord’s spell over Bai Xiao Sheng and together, they entered the Dark Lord’s mind’s eye cave to save Yan Hui. Since Tian Yao couldn’t go near Yan Hui due to their opposing powers, Bai Xiao Sheng’s shadow robe would be able to cover up her dark aura. After the shadow robe was successfully stripped from the Dark Lord, Tian Yao slashed him with his sword. The Dark Lord was supposedly defeated when the cave collapsed.

Embodiment Of Evil

However, the Dark Lord didn’t die. Only his body was destroyed. He still had thousands of soldiers with their dark aura. These were people who had died with deep resentment in them. He was feeding on their dark energy for his powers. When the barrier containing him was about to be broken, Ling Xiao entered the Dark Lord’s mind’s eye to check things out. He sacrificed himself to stop the Dark Lord from breaking the barrier but failed. The Dark Lord also killed many of Chenxing Mountain’s disciples after his escape.

An incensed Yan Hui wanted to kill the Dark Lord. She was overwhelmed with hatred. She nearly succumbed to the dark aura within her which was what the Dark Lord wanted. But Tian Yao’s comforting embrace and words calmed her down. With the barrier containing the Dark Lord broken, dark aura engulfed the world. Only the Dragon Valley was safe with Tian Yao’s protective barrier.

Tian Yao and Yan Hui split up to protect the world in their own way. Tian Yao went to confront the Dark Lord directly while Yan Hui used her powers to absorb the dark forces that were attacking people. But it was a losing battle as the Dark Lord was feeding on people’s inner demons which was limitless. He was the embodiment of evil.

Yan Hui’s Sacrifice

With Tian Yao being exhausted by his efforts, Yan Hui arrived with a large group of people just in time to save him. But it was futile. The dark aura engulfed everyone and turned them into statues. But Yan Hui found that her dark aura could dispel the Dark Lord’s aura. Hence, she figured out that she could use her Heart Protecting Scale to master the Ghostly Eulogy. As both are opposing forces, she simply turned the Dark Lord’s dark aura into dragon fire to consume him. The Dark Lord was thus defeated and the dark aura faded with him into the air.

Yan Hui also died in the process as she transformed her dark aura into spiritual dusts to lift the dark spell and bring everyone back to life. As she faded away, Tian Yao’s hair turned white in grief.

Years later, Tian Yao was traveling around and meeting old friends to spread his dragon mantra as Yan Hui would have wanted. He was not exactly looking for Yan Hui but yearning for her and hoping to meet her. Bai Xiao Sheng became a matchmaker and liked pairing up spirts and humans. Zhu Li and Xiao Yan were married but still bickering. She was pregnant with their child. Xian Ge and Feng Qian Shuo were still happily married with a son and a daughter. After meeting Zi Chen at Chenxing Mountain, Tian Yao was walking around and bumped into Yan Hui. They were reunited.
