It has been officially announced on 17 March 2025 that the period drama, Blossoms Of Power, will have Meng Zi Yi and He Yu as the leads. After lots of negative publicity in the past, Meng Zi Yi’s popularity is slowly rising again. Her efforts and good choice of dramas have helped her to regain her footing in the industry in the last 2 years. Blossom was a huge success for her in 2024. So, we can certainly expect to see her in more dramas in the near future.
He Yu became more well-known after My Fated Boy. He played a young man falling for a much older woman in that drama. From then on, he has been in a few dramas as a male lead such as Dashing Youth and The Legend Of Heroes.
What makes fans excited is that Jeremy Tsui is also a cast member in Blossoms Of Power. They are looking forward to another collaboration between him and Meng Zi Yi as both of them have worked together before in Royal Rumors.
Meng Zi Yi’s New Drama Role
In this Meng Zi Yi’s new drama, she plays Princess Shen Xi He. The princess grew up in the Northwest and wants to protect her territory. She is also a perfume expert and has a secret ability of being able to control plants. When she is ordered to go to the capital to be married off, she gets entangled with Xiao Hua Yong played by He Yu. Xiao Hua Yong is the Crown Prince who has been poisoned when he was young. So, he appears as weak on the surface but is a cunning strategist in private.
At the moment, Blossoms Of Power is slated to be a 36-episode drama. It is adapted from a web novel and will be directed by Zhong Qing. Zhong Qing’s projects include Guess Who I Am and In Blossom.
